Good morning from the NE where we have gale force winds and it has been like this for the last twenty four hours.
Plumber came yesterday and looked at the jobs I wanted doing, he took lots of photos and promised the office would get back to me.
SIL and I went shopping and as soon as I returned I had a phone call to say the plumber would return next week to discuss the work and costs. I will be delighted if they take on the work as the problem has been there for 18 months.
SIL and I went to a shopping outlet to buy Christmas cards and to look for decorations, I wanted swags to decorate the staircase but the oness I saw looked tacky, wish I hadn't binned the ones I had a couple of years ago.
DD is travelling to the UK after her working day and will arrive after 11pm, it will be lovely to see her over the weekend.
Have a good day.

Good Morning Thursday 23rd November 2023
(64 Posts)Good morning all from N Bucks where there is the most beautiful sunrise - the pic barely does it justice as the sky is aflame! Probably means bad weather
Red sky in the morning and all that. Or as we say in the 21st century “Red sky at night, the gazebo’s alight, Red sky in the morning, it’s spread to the awning! “
You’ve had a rough old year Baubles so 🎉 🎊 and many congratulations to your DH on his “big” birthday.
Second attempt at meeting up with D1 today, she sounded very down in the dumps yesterday. 🤞 she is feeling a bit better today.
And to all of you, a peaceful and pleasant day.
Good morning from the South Downs which seems quiet and bright out there.
Yesterday we had a pleasant day walking in Nymans amongst all the glorious autumn colours. The countryside has changed from green to rust, yellow, amber and reds, and before long will just be stripped back to the bones of the trees.
Had lunch in a pub. It is a shame really because not many years ago the NT used to provide delicious “home cooked” and seasonal meals, but then they modernised and I guess franchised it out as the big choice now is mostly boring jackets and perhaps one attempt at a larger hot meal. All the delicious puddings have gone.
The nutcracker theme was so well done, and in the formal gardens we walked amongst huge Christmas tree decorations and nutcracker men were scattered around. The Tchaikovsky music followed us everywhere, plus the midnight chimes.
mizuma I can understand the reason behind the delay, so patience will be your reward. Frustrating though.
Today we have the gutter man coming, otherwise a pottering sort of day.
Peace and harmony to all
Good morning from Shropshire.A dry day forecast.
We took the car into the garage yesterday then had a coffee in town before walking home.Hopefully the car will be ready to collect later today.
You’ve done well Grandmabatty💪🏼two little ones on your own for four days is no mean feat.
I’m sorry your operation has been postponed Mizuna.
Ash my mum has had glaucoma for over 30 years and as grandMattie says it has been treated/controlled with daily drops.Still a worry for you💐
Happy birthday to your husband Baubles🎂🍾🥂
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
Good morning everyone from Severnside. A colourful sky to the east.
Happy Birthday to Mrbaubles 🍺🎉🎂
I’ve got to take the car to the garage early for a check.
Have a good day all 🌺
Baubles a very happy birthday to your dear husband.
Good morning from the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Perhaps not so bonnie in the pouring rain though. Glad I didn’t book a jaunt on the sea plane
.
Today is DH’s 75th birthday and we are being thoroughly spoiled by the marvellous staff in our hotel, they could not have done more to make us feel welcome and a cared for. .
DD was married here fifteen years ago, we’ve had fun remembering and reminiscing about the wonderful weekend we had here with our guests from near and far.
This evening we’re celebrating with DD and family at a favourite Italian restaurant near her home.
A few weeks ago DH was so ill that I didn’t think we would make it here, I’m so very grateful.
I admire your attitude Mizuna.
I wish you all a day where you are able to find a little something to make you smIle.
Oh,, Ash, how worrying! But I think that glaucoma is easily treated with daily drops. 🤞all goes well.
What a good attitude, mizuna. I hope a solution is found for your knee.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and damp. Mizuna I'm disappointed for you. 💐 Ash that must be a worry for you too 💐
Today is the last day of childcare for this week. Hurrah! I love the boys dearly but I'm not as energetic as I once was. Dgs2 was mostly good yesterday and very affectionate. Dgs1 got a glowing report from the nursery at parents night. Dd was, rightly, very happy with what they told her.
Today dgs2 and I will probably go for a walk, although it's to be very windy. He'll want to play with cars too and I have lots of them. However the day shapes, we'll have fun, I hope. Have a good day all
Good morning, another damp start here on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Yesterday I enjoyed an ambling dog walk, just pottering along whilst she sniffed at every blade of grass then had a chase around with her friend Luna.
Today I think I will pop her in the car and go to the woods a few miles away, just for a change.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹
Good morning from a dry Bristol.
I had a good night’s sleep, I don't know why, but am certainly not complaining.
I spent most of yesterday fiddling with paper, card and fabric trying to make a little patchwork boat. I’m rather pleased with the result. The “sea” is dark pine green. Now to calculate the size, and make the rest of the squares.
The dinner at DD’s was a nice takeaway curry, the MiL talks for England, so I had little to do - eat and listen. I hadn’t wanted to break up the party, the iLs were spending the night, so had planned on taking a bus home, but, bless him, SiL drove me back. I think he wanted a peek at the bathroom.
My lovely plumber has almost finished. He put in the basin and radiator, loo roll holder and blind. The bathroom just needs the remaining painting done and it’s finished.
The hall needs paint and the lights done; the floor is scheduled for Monday, by another company. Nearly, nearly there! It been a long haul!
Just tai chi today and Spanish homework to do. I haven’t been able to do it because of noise or being too tired.
I hope today is gentle with you all, that any treatment is well tolerated, that sorrow is tempered, worries bearable , and happiness reigns supreme.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a dry, calm Cornwall. Heard yesterday that my knee replacement won't happen for another six months. So... I have much planning to do, to enable me to live a fulfilling life whilst managing the pain. I do need to finish the book my son and I are compiling so that will help. It will take me a few days to get used to the news but I know the anaesthetist is only thinking of the best outcome for me.
Family meal at Pizza Express at 5pm for my grandson's (belated) 14th birthday. I'll go early to decorate the table. The staff are always fun and very welcoming.
Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay.
Yesterday, my permanent crown was delivered and I had it fitted late morning. Next time I shall be seeing yet another dentist as my current one is leaving. The new one is known to me as we were on stage together in ‘Allo, ‘Allo last year and I've been treated by him once in an emergency.
Today I have an appointment at Torbay Hospital Eye Clinic, having been referred by my optician. I’ve been a few times before and was signed off by them but, as before, my optician is concerned regarding the early stages of glaucoma.
Wishing everyone a good day. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
Dark and dry at the moment in brackley this morning.
Mind you the forecast over the next few days could see more seasonal conditions.
Getting my xmas card list sorted ready to post in next few days .
My own condition a little weight loss but not to drastic .
Take Care,
Mick
