Have signed tenancy agreement on a lovely one bed flat with a balcony and wet room. I'm so excited. I got the keys on Monday and have started moving in some boxes already. Removal company coming Thursday to give me a quote and I'm hoping to be in before Christmas. My head in a spin thinking of all that needs to be done!!!🤪🤪🤪

Hopefully all goes smoothly I just moved into my bungalow from a flat unfortunately for me I had the neighbors from hell. Do your Royal Mail now I only did it for 3 months and change all your details online I had a brilliant company move me broadband. I also had a decorater do and a carpet fitter makes life a lot easier and a handyman because I didn’t want my sons doing it after they had been to work all day. I used all local ppl. I also got some really large bags from amazon for packing my duvet and pillows and my dressing gown slippers and couple of changes of clothes so I knew where they all were I got a cover for my mattress and a box for cups kettle etc I won’t lie it will take it out of you for a few days it did me but it’s exciting and hopefully you love it I do love my bungalow and my new neighbors

Excellent news. I hope you are very happy in your new home.
We are mostly owner occupiers here but there are a few tenants in rented properties. All seems fine.

Spuddy Wed 29-Nov-23 10:34:15

That's absolutely brilliant news, very well done!

Well done, travelsafar. I'm glad you have made this decision. I made it this year and have been in my flat for five months now. I bought it and certainly don't look down on the renters - not that I ask my neighbours if they are renters or owners. It's lovely to be on one level and my knees feel so much better for not having to go up and down stairs. The property as a whole is in beautifully kept grounds and the public areas are warm and comfortable. No regrets and I'm sure you will feel the same.

biglouis that neighbour sounds horrible. There are renters and owners here and we are friendly to all no matter if they have bought or rented the property.
Think you were unlucky with that neighbour.

Patsy70 Wed 29-Nov-23 09:24:47

Congratulations, be happy in your new home. 💐

Exciting to move into a new home. Reminds me of when I sold my 4 bedroom house to move into my little flat. The cleaning was done in a fraction of the time it took to clean my big old house.
Enjoy your new home. It sounds lovely.

biglouis Wed 29-Nov-23 09:18:06

If you are renting do you find that other people in the same locaility who own/have mortgage tend to look down on renters?

I had never come across this before as I had always lived in blocks of flats where everyone rented. However then I first moved to this leafy suburban area I rented and my NDN was a right snotty madam. When I reminded her that she needed to ask my permission before sending her workman onto my property she said "I dont need your permission. Your only a tenant!"

Just remember on moving day - don’t pack the kettle and teabags!!
