Family coming home for Christmas

Thanks all for your good wishes. My granddaughter is eight now - and in spite of early concerns about brain damage has just been accepted into MENSA. She does have some health problems related to her early birth and is definitely a quirky little individual, but she has shown herself to be remarkably resilient. I think she gets it from her mum who also had major health problems as a baby/child, but she survived and thrived too.

I shall go out to NZ in January to see mine but they were here last year so it's not been quite so long.

How wonderful and very exciting grannyactivist. Four years is a long time which will melt away completely when you have your first hug. What a fabulous Christmas you’ll have.
We last hugged our Aussie son in 2019, his children came with their mum this year and we are going to visit them all in August 24 so we have some excitement coming our way too.

Such good news about your little one grannyactivist. I hope that you have a lovely reunion. My twin granddaughters were born early ( not very early) and I remember how anxious I was but I was able to visit them fairly soon after their arrival - they live in Scandinavia. You had it much harder!

How exciting for you GA. So is your grand-daughter 4years old now? A co-worker had her baby around the same gestation and it was indeed scary times.

Not this year, but last Christmas, my middle child who lives with his wife and my 3 grandchildren in Australia, were over for Christmas. So this Christmas I feel quite down because last year was totally magical. I recall watching him stride through the airport with his family, with all the love anticipation and excitement showing on all their faces, and boy, it was totally wonderful. We all immersed ourselves in the love and happiness of us all being together, the cousins bonded so well and of course, us adults were so happy. I hope you have as wonderful a time as I did, Grannyactivist, with all my family gathered round, very happy for you. Treasure this holiday for all the joy it will bring you.

grannyactivist, I am absolutely delighted for you . Your GD born at 27 weeks - wow,she is amazing. Our AC all live reasonably close to so have no experience of waiting to see them at an airport. You must be so excited, four years is a long time - you must be jumping for joy!! Bet you can't wait to wrap your arms around them.
