On Monday my husband and I will be at Heathrow waiting to welcome our daughter and granddaughter home for Christmas and I am finally allowing myself to feel anticipation and excitement.
They live in NZ and when our granddaughter was born (at 27 weeks) she was very poorly for a long time (old timers on here will remember holding my hand through some very scary weeks). In the years since then she has been back to ICU several times (including last summer) and yesterday she had to have an MRI because of heart problems, but we’ve had confirmation that SHE’S COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!
It’s been four years since we’ve been together, so we have a lot of hugs to catch up on and the family has grown since, so there are photo’s to be taken of ALL my grandchildren together. It’s the best gift I could have and more than makes up for what otherwise has been a dreadful year.
Who else has long distance family home for Christmas?
Moths I had never seen before have appeared in my garden
