Good afternoon kitcheners. Yiayia enjoy your trip. Malta sounds wonderful. I've had a good day. Dgs2 has been on his best behaviour all day. A couple of moans but nothing major. He is a toddler after all. However the nursery phoned as dgs1 was not himself and was sitting crying. I picked him up and the two boys slept for two hours this afternoon. He's still not great but it's probably the virus still. Anyway I'm home now. Dd made millionaires shortbread and gave me two pieces so I've just had a bit. Oh my, delicious. Tonight I'll have chicken and mash and veg and an early night. Have a good evening Kitcheners

A much more spring like day here, we have just picked GS1 and GS3 from school and college.The trains are on a go slow this week so we will be on standby.GS1 takes his driving test on Wednesday so.🤞We are going to Malta next week a new experience as never been before but,I will need to take my zebra print walking stick with me.🤣

Mr Soop is cleaning the windows After which, he'll be visiting the surgery for his weekly scalp review.

We've been invited to a friend's birthday party at the weekend. The wording of the invitation was wonderfully droll. We have accepted in like manner. Our friend is a gifted model maker. One extraordinary model paddle-steamer took a few years to complete. By the time he delivered it to the client, he maintains that he didn't recognise him as he had aged. He is also converting a large derelict barn without the assistance of builders. We look forward to seeing the fruits of his labours. A very clever man!.

Quiet one for us today, we had a long day yesterday which seems to have floored us both. Mr C has his final cardiac rehab session tomorrow, there will be great rejoicing in cornerland. Having said that I’ll miss my solitary wanders around a few shops.

The images of your daughters work encouraged me to hunt out a tea cosy my Mum made many years ago. Her knitting never left her when she was resting. We were all kitted out in warm woollen sweaters. Love and a hug for you and the family. For you too urms.

Good evening all, I am feeling much better thank you. The tum has behaved itself today, MrB made me porridge for brunch and a lovely chicken sandwich for dinner. The chicken was fresh farm reared and the bread from a local shop, it tasted so good. It has stayed in my tum so fingers crossed.

I took out a lot of pale yellow eyed grass today, it was spreading and I’ve only got a small garden, I didn’t like it much and it just appeared from nowhere.
No luck in the meat draw, baked beans again🤣🤣.

I hope your DD’s symptoms are still well under control, Baggs. Is hospice care involved? Sometimes they can sort out what is required and then the routine can be followed at home.

It sounds as though there’ve been some nice weekends here in the Kitchen. Ours has been quiet but relaxing. I am much improved and feel like doing more now so we went to Lidl and Home Bargains yesterday. They are both new shops so very nice to be in and better stocked than our nearest branches. It’s a bit of a drive but a run through the winter countryside was pleasant. DS in America FaceTimed last night, which was lovely. He has a check up scan next week so we are all keeping our fingers crossed for the result.

Today I pruned my climbing roses as per David Austen instructions (I’m a novice rose-grower) and planted some summer bulbs. I don’t know if it’s too early for them but for 99p in HB, there’s not much to lose if they don’t grow. Dh hosed down the slabs where the birds make such a mess eating their food.

I’m going to watch CTM and catch up with Yellowstone this evening - anyone else watched the latter?

‘Evening All’.

We’ve been out for a delicious Sunday pub lunch at my stepfather’s favourite pub in Glazebrook. A 20 minute drive on A roads and Himself managed admirably. We all enjoyed it very much. As Himself said “I need to do this when I’m up for it” as his new weekly iv chemo starts next week and we don’t know how it might affect him. Sadly the recent scan wasn’t the news we had hoped for so we pin our hopes on this next line of treatment. It really is a rollercoaster life of highs and lows.

Hello kitchen people. We had a lovely weekend with our daughter and OH has just driven her to the station. I cooked her favourite Sunday lunch - roast chicken and all the trimmings including homemade stuffing balls and homemade bread sauce. Pudding was an old Josceline Dimbleby recipe which I’ve been making for years. It’s a sort of chocolate soufflé which doesn’t sink. Served with lashings of cream of course.
To make the day even better, Liverpool beat Norwich in the FA Cup 4th round.
My brother in Australia rang for a chat this morning. Earlier than usual as he wanted to watch the tennis. He thinks his heart operation will be in the next couple of week. He has to fly down from Sydney for it. Around about the same time, his daughter in Melbourne is expecting a daughter!

We had a birdwatching walk yesterday along with hundreds of other people it seemed and most of Suffolk’s dogs! It was a beautiful day but it made me very grateful my knee op is coming. It was a very slow and painful walk and when I got home I fell fast asleep. Now I need to make a start on getting my hip done!
It’s another lovely morning so a gentle potter in the garden for me. I hope all is well with you lovely Kitcheners.

Hello all, I have been reading your news. Yesterday we had a lovely day, it was sunny and cold and dry and had a walk.

Last night my tum started gurgling and I spent the entire night between bed and bathroom. I won’t go into details but I’m really grateful for en-suite bathrooms. I was washed out, weak and exhausted. MrB tucked me in and fetched a mug of tea around 8am and I have dozed off and off all day. I haven’t eaten anything but have drunk plenty of water.

Your daughter’s work is beautiful Baggs and good that she is receiving adequate pain relief now. My heart goes out to you and your family.

A busy enjoyable day here experiencing the local fiesta which is still going strong. A bit too hot, noisy and crowded for me tbh, these days I’m much more into quiet events but the locals all enjoy it. We’re back in the apartment now for an early night - I’m definitely not a party animal and neither is DH. A cup of proper tea to look forward to as we brought our own teabags with us 🤣 I’ve also said to DH that next time we come away we’re going to stay in a flat resort, didn’t realise quite how hilly it is around here

A quiet day here, Saturday paper, birdwatch for an hour, not very eventful, then we watched football. Dinner of beef casserole is in the slow cooker, we’ll catchup this evening on some missed programmes.
