Good evening all, today has been quite a good day and I was able to get out for a walk all by myself. I had my ‘phone in my pocket in case I needed to call Mr.B to come and get me. I hope MrSoop is soon sorted. Glad you’re feeling better Urms.

I am saddened to read that our lovely Baggs daughter’s health is deteriorating. She has posted about it in the Good Morning thread, and I’m sure everyone here will want to offer their support.

Sounds like another special family day grannmarie, so lovely to have the family round. You’re really brave to go to the slimming class, I know I couldn’t do it but hope it’s ok for you
We’ve had a good day, DGD eventually woke up after a long lie in, she definitely needed it. We collected DGS and then took them both swimming at the gym. The played quite well together for ages in the pool, going underwater to retrieve the diving sticks but then DGS got a bit bored and started splashing DGD far too much so that was that and we got out. Honestly, there’s always something when they’re together 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Anyhow we restored the peace, gave them lunch and dropped them home about 3ish. Needless to say we’ll be having a quiet evening tonight

The permanent moorings are over the other side. Most of the boats in the photo are not designed for living on.

I'm late in as I woke up this morning feeling distinctly off. I was a bit confused as although I had found it tough at the gym it doesn't normally make me feel dizzy....thumping head...sore throat and a cough!!!!. I've got some sort of a lurgy...not COVID ( or not yet showing positive) but I've lost the day sleeping on and off. Grrrr. It can jog on as DOH has booked us into a site in Devon the weekend of the 13th with Henrietta Moho and given that it's taken me nearly a week to recover from Christmas night I need to be firing on all pistons.
Urms...my heart went out to you...your honesty in how you are feeling touches us ( your friends) deeply and though we cannot physically do anything ( although we would all love to wave a magic wand and make it better...for you..himself ...Baggs DD...Mr Dusty..Mr Kalu etc) we can't...but what we can do is ....be here for when it all overwhelms you...you are not alone on this journey. ♥️
Brook.... They have such a way at winding one another up don't they? I remember when I just had 3 and they would kick off in the rear seat of the car and I would be trying to drive... They used to argue about who would be in the middle as that would be the one who got their leg slapped ( not hard) to stop them.
Blossoming...water is so heeling and calming. My best moments and happiest have been walking the South Beach in Tenby early morning with the dogs looking across to Caldey. It makes my heart sing just thinking about it. Love and prayers to all mentioned and not... I'm off to bed soon and hoping that tomorrow is a better day

We’ve had your share of rain brook roads p and houses flooded, cars marooned, manhole covers shifted, it’s been dreadful.
Lots of lurgy around neine daughter with Covid, but back to school, sons partner with viral tonsillitis, bugs aplenty, hope yours goes soon.

A visit to Marks was about my lot outside today, any to do’s are rescheduled until tomorrow.
I too felt sad to hear the latest from Baggs, life can be so cruel and unfair.

Having a quiet week before the schools go back on Tuesday and we resume dgd and dgdogs duties three days a week.

Silly o’clock and I’m still awake.

We’ve had a decent day. I gave in to Mr C’s wish to wander further afield. It seems his decision to turn left off the M5 and head over the bridge rather than right into Wiltshire was inspired. We experienced very little rain while parts of Wiltshire became more or less under water.

Our son returned home through floods to find his house had become an island. The last we heard he had sandbagged the back and was watching the water lap towards the front. Fortunately his vehicles are high from the ground He was as ever totally unflappable and off to bed saying he’d done all he could and watching it would make no difference. Of course his Mum isn’t asleep!

Tenby and Caldey are two of my favourite places neine. I first went to Tenby about 52 years ago with Mr C and two friends. We bought a bean filled frog in a shop set into the walls. That frog has survived children and overly interested dogs. It’s still with us. Since then we’ve returned so many times, crossing to Caldey when weather, tide and time allowed. It’s been my go to place to heal when life and sometimes death has overwhelmed me. Travelling isn’t so easy now but we hope to get back there before too long.

I’m having an introspective phase I think. Nothing to do with a new year, the arrival of which I try to steadfastly ignore. Been looking back at times that have left their mark. Some positive, some less so , but isn’t that how life is.

There’s much worry and pain courageously expressed in the haven of the Kitchen. I’ll not mention names for fear of missing someone. My love to you all. My thoughts have been and will be with anyone in pain of any kind.

Something positive to share then I really must get to sleep. Volunteering fun in the morning. Our hospitalised friend has responded so well to IV antibiotics he is now able to sit up and speak. It seems he had pneumonia. Phew.

Good morning everyone. Quick update. The water stayed out of our sons home and yes, I did go to sleep .

That is good news Cornergran, so many dreadful scenes both home and abroad.

Our daughter’s bridesmaid has been a face of flooding on west Mids TV with her 9 week old twin daughters. So awful to have all that damage.

Such awful news from Baggs. She is truly in my heart.

Soop both you and Mr Soop are so brave in dealing pragmatically with the ailments that life has ‘bestowed’ upon you. You are an example I should try to follow.

Great news about your son’s house, Corner. Having experiences our own recent flood, which at least was clean water, I am so sorry that so many people are affected by flooding right now.
I saw a photo of the young woman with the newborn twins, Topsy. She looked remarkably unphased by it!

The sun has just come out here, huzzah! 👏 It’s been so wet (though not as bad as down south) and the very air has felt wet. Yesterday it was foggy but also raining at times.

I’ve had a busy day or two, life is returning to normal after Xmas. I’ve been to the dentist, where I got 10/10, been to a discussion group with friends, had a meal out at a new venue with another friend and enjoyed a classical music concert. Dh and I have also restarted our fitness programme after a hiatus due to our house flood.

Today I need to buy fresh food. I have some new recipes to try out. We’ll also see the GC at some point. GS needs to go back to nursery - today he launched a fire truck at his sister for no apparent reason! 👀 School and nursery begin again on Monday.

Dear Baggs, I have responded to your text message. It was very difficult. There are no words with which to express our special affection and respect and continuing hope as you deal with the latest prognosis.

Hello kitchen people. I’m thinking of those of you with dreadful and unimaginable problems. Sometimes there are no words.🌹
I have had a house work day and now I’m collapsed on the sofa. When OH has finished making wooden shelves for his bee hives, he will cook dinner.
I put the last of the Christmas things away - the last item was the Christmas table cloth which I had just ironed.
We couldn’t have gone anywhere today even if we’d wanted to. My village is surrounded by floods so you would either need a 4x4 or a canoe!

I’ve just remembered our trip to Caldy island a few years ago. We came back (after buying industrial quantities of fudge and chocolate) in an open boat through a choppy sea. A large wave managed to totally drench me. My waterproof coat wasn’t and I had to buy a new one.

One of my first happy memories of family holidays was to Tenby, DS was a baby and my two DDs hadn’t been born. I’ve only been back once since then but I’d love to get back there sometime. Thanks for the picture neine that brought back my memories
I’ve been to the gym this morning, it was hard work at the circuits class today and my shoulders are feeling it. We’ve a new instructor and she’s lovely but quite intense and works us hard. I’m nowhere near as fit as most of the ladies in the class but I keep trying ….This afternoon after a rest I started sorting through drawers and cupboards, it’s a task that never ever seems to get finished

Good evening all, it has been much colder here today and we have had a lazy day apart from a short walk this afternoon. We have also been planning a trip Yia it definitely does cheer one up on dark cold winter days.

It’s several years since we were last in Tenby, it is indeed a beautiful part of the country.
