We have done a lot of cleaning and tidying - we now have full daylight instead of twilight after windows were cleaned! I shall start to put up decorations now and get the tree early next week. DS & family go away on Thursday but their washing machine broke - again! We have washed, dried, ironed and return lots, ready for packing. There are 7 of them, so always plenty of washing there.
It’s our WI Christmas lunch tomorrow but despite being President, I don’t have to do much except pay over the cash I’ve collected. That’s a relief!
Hope Mr Soop’s head is improving and I hope all’s well with Mr Dusty.

Hi all, quiz score last night is best forgotten, but fun was had, the most important thing.
Rain again today, torrential at lunchtime when a friend and I dashed to our venue and a welcome fire.
It did ease off later as I foraged for holly, then decorated our tree, not with holly silly!
We’ll catch up with Vigil tomorrow, football tonight, MrJ’s team in action.

MrB and I have managed a walk down to the river today. The tide had just turned so it was on its way out, the yellow warning has now been cancelled. We haven’t had as much rain today.

Good afternoon you lovely people, you have boosted my morale so much. Apart from one person I’m not going to reply to you all individually bbut I would if I could possibly do so without resorting to going backwards and forwards to remember who said exactly what.

First of all DH although still at home has to be at the hospital at 9.00 am tomorrow with no eating or drinking beforehand and he will be operated on for his colon operation on Wednesday. Apart from that we have very little information as to how likely he is to be in for or even what he needs to take with him. The thread about what one needs to take for a hospital stay has been very useful for jogging my mind.
We went down to the surgery yesterday only to find that our doctor wasn’t there but were assured that he would phone later, he didn’t. At least we know that he will have a copy of all the papers that DH was told to give him. I’ve also done a copy for the hospital in case they need to read them. The photo copier has never been used so much.

The one exception that I’m going to make is RosiesMaw. Thankyou Maw for giving me a reasonable explanation for why this happened. It sounds extremely likely.
Although when I had a long chat with my son in law last night after DH had gone to bed we both felt that DH is maybe dragging one leg a bit. However he was extremely tired and it might just be that that is his weakest side anyway.

I feel great confidence in the surgeon but the hospital system is extremely confusing. I’m glad that SiL has no company work for the rest of December and can stay here for the next few days.

The nurse applied a special healing cream to Mr Soop's lesions. He also has different plaster thingies. He's to return to see the nurse next Tuesday.

I'm late, I'm late....I've been watching Vigil, trying to identify the location of the baddie's flat, as filming took place locally earlier this year. The interior layout of the flat was similar to the tower block they were filming in, but outside was completely different. I suppose they do a lot of
'camera magic.'

Soop, I'm sorry to hear about MrSoop's poor head, that surely needs a good poultice to draw all that gunk out.

I hope Dusty and her DH had a useful consultation with GP today.

Hello all, my iPad has been playing up, partly due to the last iOS update, so not spent much time online for a few days. I have managed to sort it out and all working again now. It is due for replacement next year, it’s getting a bit long in the tooth and the performance is not as good as it once was. I’m not quite ready for that though, and I’m still thinking about what to get. My needs have changed too. Anyway, today I have been quite busy checking when pensions, etc will be paid over the bank holidays, making sure payments due are covered, sorting out finances ready for year end and doing a little forward planning. MrB and I have been out for a pleasant stroll around the marina. It was drizzling but we didn’t care. There was a decidedly frosty nip in the air and I was quite enjoying the feeling of it on my face after being mostly stuck indoors.

In other news I haven’t fallen over for 3 days, the balance exercises seem to be doing fine. The dizziness is still around but controllable.

I’ve had a good but busy day, a couple of classes at the gym followed by a bit of shopping. I had a parcel to post and joined the longest queue ever at the local post office - I thought it would be quieter than the main one in town but everyone else must have had the same idea. That was after having to squeeze the car into the only available tiny space in the very small and awkward car park - a bit of a challenge but I did it eventually!
Mr Soop sounds like he’s suffering soop I hope you he can get something to help.

We’ve had a quiet day. I’ve been in reflective mode. Trying hard to focus on what we have instead of mourning what we don’t. It’s hard though sometimes. That’s when I get upset.
