I was just in M&S food dept and saw marvellous customer service. The lady in front of me was obviously very elderly and looked rather fragile. I'd noticed her on my way round the shop.
Anyway, the staff member on the checkout very carefully packed all her shopping after it had been clicked through and was endlessly patient as the lady struggled with her purse and card. All the time she was talking kindly and pleasantly and got out from her seat to help the lady put her bags in the trolley and helped her on the way out of the shop.
I was so impressed at the kind way she did this. No fuss just great to see.
The self checkouts were empty.

I had gone into town on the bus and my husband was picking me up. In Waitrose I bought far more than I went in for as usual and then had to carry a heavy bag a few hundred years to my oick-up point. I was struggling along, putting the bag down every few steps and leaning on my walking stick for a breather. A lovely young lady came and offered help and carried my bag all the way for me. I was so grateful for her help I have never before felt so old and useless. She really lifted my spirits.

All this tech upsets me totally. I was a nurse and used to dealing with people not tech . I did a 6 week course in computers when I retired 20 years ago. It's no help now that I am 82. My daughter and son in law help me now.Thank goodness.
