Just read that NICE is recommending doctors offer CBT (talking therapy) as an alternative to HRT. As someone whose life has been made bearable by a kind docotr who has put me back on HRT at 77, the idea that a GP might say that I need to "talk about it" is daft!!!

How much talk can be squeezed into a ten minute Gp appointment and where might all the councillors come from
Does that mean that NICE think menopause is all in our pretty little heads‼️‼️
I don’t think so I’ll go down kicking and screaming if they try to take HRT off me
Both my heart and orthopedic surgeons were very supportive when I told them I was still on. HRT

This is the link, there is a link to the consultation document on the page
I don't think choices should be ruled out, HRT isn't suitable for everyone and not everyone wants it

Thanks Old Frill for the link. Which I have read with interest actually I agree that the medical profession can be too quick to dish out drugs especially for depression and anxiety etc. in an ideal world talk therapy should be readily available when needed I think we all know the NHS mental health services are extremely stretched. If only someone could come up with some solutions It’s not the only situation where non medication solutions are helpful. Take for example physiotherapy or support for those trying to loose weight
Before anyone says it the money isn’t available and the pills can seem like a quick fix.
