Nothing makes me feel my age like ....

I agree with all these. I was at a carol concert tonight and found standing to sing hard and my legs ached. I miss my dancing across the floor, youth.

Houses built in the 1960s are considered old! I remember them being built.

As for those doctors Elegran 😮

When, during Covid, the elderly were mentioned and I realised the age they were talking about was younger than me

Nothing makes me feel my age like .... seeing how young the consultants at the hospital are. They look as though they haven't even qualified yet.

My head saying ‘yes, go do it’ and my body saying ‘don’t you dare’.

My gardener telling me it’s good that I’m keeping active.

When my children start a text after 9pm with the words Are you still up? I rarely go to bed before 11pm! 😂

Yes our address book is depressing so many names crossed out!

hollysteers Sun 17-Dec-23 19:23:24

The recent appearance of arthritis in my fingers.
Going through my address book for Christmas cards and finding so many have gone.

Being asked by GD for a school project if I was at D-day when it was my father.

Oh yes thescrolling down for year of birth is disheartening, I worry that one day my year won't be there.
That 30 years ago was not 1970 and that one of my daughters is now 55. The list goes on. smile

When folks ask me how old my boys are

Grammaretto Sun 17-Dec-23 14:35:07

Being told I'm doing well for my age.
Not knowing any of the celebrities in any celebrity TV show.
Just being known as granny even by my DC.😞 As in;
"give that to granny" or ask granny if she can help you"

The things I quite like are taking a front seat on the bus without anyone glaring at me. I daresay there are other benefits but I can't think what.

Still trying to do some of the dance moves I used to do the knees are too stiff these days. Sometimes a good song from the past will come on and I still have a little dance the grand children think I am hilarious and can't stop laughing at me.

I hate that blessing business. So patronising.

Bridie22 Sun 17-Dec-23 14:07:42

Some younger person blessing me 🤣

foxie48 Sun 17-Dec-23 14:03:16

Trying anything on in our local M&S. The changing rooms have all round mirrors so there is no escape from seeing my body as it actually is.

MrsEggy Sun 17-Dec-23 13:59:41

Hearing a little tot looking up at my firstborne and saying "Grandad"!

Juliet27 Sun 17-Dec-23 13:54:56

Looking in the mirror!

Having to enter my year of birth on a web site and feeling the lactic acid build in your hand as you keep scrolling back and back or hearing a song a thinking that must be a new one I don't remember it, it must be after my "time" , yes it was but it is from the 90s which is 30 years ago ..how is that possible aren't the 70s only 30 years ago 🤔
