I am sure the sensible grans on this site have never smoked, I am afraid I have and have now, I hope, given up. I am on day seven of not smoking, it hasn't been easy. Perhaps somebody else may be trying to quit.

Just because 'everyone' is doing something isn't a good reason to do it too though.

are you telling us, or asking us something ?

People start smoking because of curiosity... They want to try it

Then they think "That was disgusting, I'd never want to do that again" but one is enough to get hooked...

So then it depends if they are around smokers at home or in social situations... Because if they are, they will probably just "try" another one and won't really know why

Next thing they know, they can't live without them and forgot that they were happier before being a smoker

Well, you know what they say about curiosity....

I think adults who vape encourage more youngsters to start too. Enough do already and they may well progress to cigarettes. Pretty much the same thing re smoking in the 50/60s. What adults do children follow.
You are still putting something into your mouth, breathing whatever is in there into lungs and no one really knows what damage they might do.
Best to use other methods of giving up, at least as a start.
Then as a last resort, maybe.

A nurse friend told me that vaping causes a condition called wet lung and she’s worried at the way young people are doing it, thinking that it’s harmless.
