Good Morning Everyone,
And a Happy Christmas to you all, weather wise been raining here in brackley .
Today my Wiltshire Farms Xmas Turkey lunch and Xmas Pudding , a quiet day as TV gets interesting later with Doctor Who and Midwife.
Take Care,
Mick

Merry Christmas everyone from a dry, still & mild Sefton.
Turkey in oven, ham in slow cooker - I like my turkey slow cooked as well hence the early start. All is under control, no doubt it will disintegrate into the usual chaos later when both 'boys' & their families arrive for lunch. So looking forward to it.🥳
Wishing you all the best Christmas Day however you spending it.

Whatever you do I hope you all have a lot of fun and enjoyment 🎄🎅

Good morning and a very Merry Christmas to you all.

Lovely to hear of all your ‘doings’. 🎄.

Yesterday afternoon , dgd1 and I went to church to watch the Nativity with the children dressed up. Little DGD and Dd were going to come, but they’re both poorly. It was a lovely service and very sweet.

Today we are going to DS1’s for dinner and to spend the day with him and his family. He does a delicious spread and DIL and the teenage girls will be keeping us amused showing us their many presents.

I hope you all have a lovely day and peace and harmony to the world.🙏

Good morning from coastal West Sussex, and Happy Christmas, Mick and all following.

Marydoll, what a lovely post! And what a memorable Christmas Eve!

Ashcombe I hope the cat recovers speedily.

Mizuna, I smiled at the picture you drew of ‘the hobblers*.

Susan, sorry to hear your MiL is worse.

Thinking of all those with family or friends who are ill. A friend from schooldays, of my DH has cancer and has reacted badly to treatment, we heard yesterday. He and his family will be in our minds in the midst of today’s festivities.

We are off to Brighton to share Christmas with DDs, their DHs and our two oldest and two youngest GCs.

Merry Christmas Morning chums, to those who are having a cuppa in the peace before the storm or indeed to those with little ones about who are in the 'eye of the storm' pace yourselvesgrin
My little furry feller is looking forward to greeting his pals on this morning's walkies, hope to see lots of kiddies whizzing about on new bikes & scooters or pushing their dollies in pramssmile
Hugs to every one who is finding this season hard , Spring is just hiding in the wings x

Good morning all from a wet East Yorkshire.

Having a quiet morning at home before going across at lunchtime to spend the day with the family.
Our lunch out yesterday was delicious as always at the fish restuarant. It was a Thai halibut curry for me yummy.
Wishing you a happy Christmas and the best day possible if times are troubled.

Good morning and a Happy Christmas from a much calmer NE.
DD and SIL were here for dinner last night and helped with the preparation for today.
DS and family and DD and SIL will arrive at lunchtime but we are not having turkey and all the trimmings. We are having a buffet because of several different dietary requirements. GDs said they were happy with all day grazing.
DD will stay over tonight and help me clear up for which I am grateful.
Have a good day everyone.

Merry Christmas everyone! I'm in Lincolnshire staying with DS2 and family and waiting for everyone to wake up. DGD2 is almost 19 now so there is no longer that enormous excitement that has everyone up at the crack of dawn. Yesterday evening I gave the family a Christmas Eve bag which contained Festive nibbles and a cocktail making set with recipe book which was 'something different' and was happily received. I saw the embroidered linen bag in a lovely gift shop and it was just waiting to be filled - and it may just have started a new tradition.
Absolutely no idea what today holds but I think presents and a Christmas feast may be involved. Have the best day everyone!

Wishing you all a joyful Christmas Day! I've not posted for a while, but wanted to rejoin you today, as when i last posted my daughter was very ill and I received such lovely support from so many on GN. I'm so very thankful that she us now well again.
Family descend shortly for breakfast, presents and a dog walk this morning, then we are hosting the afternoon festivities with DD1, DS1 and families arriving. A busy day, but a joyful one.
May your Christmas Day be everything you wish it to be.

Merry Christmas from a wet Durham. Drinks in the street (it’s a cul de sac) this morning so hope it fairs up! DD2 and family arriving soon - must shake a leg.
I hope everyone enjoys their day, whatever plans they have.
X

Merry Christmas from leafy Leicestershire. I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Good morning and Happy Christmas from gloomy Edinburgh. I was feeling gloomy myself as our Christmas day has been cancelled as family ill. Quite nasty. I've never known DD to be bedridden before and SiL and the wee boys sound awful.
However, we're in a house full of treats. I've just gone mad and added a shot of Bailey's to my coffee for the first time and it's fabulous! Cheers all.

RosiesMaw Mon 25-Dec-23 09:02:59

Cheers! 🥃

Another occasional poster who would like to send joyful Christmas wishes to everyone on here who, over the years, has made this such a lovely warm friendly thread.

I would also like to say a special thank you to Michael who, virtually without fail, very early each morning, gets things going on here.

Merry Christmas, everyone from the south coast where I’m staying with DD and family just 10 minutes from home. Thank goodness those awful journeys down from Cambridgeshire (there were always traffic problems) are now a thing of the past.
We stayed up to watch Midnight Mass from Portsmouth cathedral last night which was a stunning combination of choir, organ and the band of the Royal Marines (obviously reduced 😀) They did us proud!
All the usual eating and drinking will be on the cards for today. With adult grandchildren the morning is much more relaxed although I’m pleased to report, He’s Been!!
Have a lovely day everyone and kind thoughts for those who need an extra hug at Christmas.

hollysteers Mon 25-Dec-23 09:24:57

Happy Christmas everyone from a damp 10°C northwest coast.
DD and DS here and DGD arrives tomorrow. I’m always happy when my chicks (as they still are to me) are here. DD full of cold unfortunately, but powering on and we are ‘trying’ to keep our distance. We had a final shop yesterday which wasn’t too busy and braised steak in the evening. I finished my final wrappings and did stockings as per.

I’m looking forward to today, still something magical about Christmas although DH is sadly missed. We went to the family grave with flowers yesterday.

Wishing you all a very happy day and I join in with thanks to Mick for this interesting and friendly thread.💕🎄

Merry Christmas one and all. I hope everyone has a brilliant day. Like many of you, I am on my own again but I intend to enjoy myself and I hope you do the same.

Good morning EVERYBODY - to those of us who post regularly, all who just like to read, and some of us who ‘pop in’ occasionally - with heartfelt Christmas wishes from us in south Manchester this morning. It’s finally HERE after all the chatting, thinking and list making. Phew! Now - let’s all just enjoy the spirit of Christmas remembering with gratitude what we have in our lives. We all have blessings if we pause to count them.

Gosh, I’m giving Justin Welty a run for his money! 🤣🤣

Here’s Matt.

Happy Christmas everyone from Giffnock where I’m back in bed for a sleep before mass at 12 o’clock! The day started at 4.30 when DGC couldn’t wait to check if Santa had been. Indeed he had and I am exhausted with the excitement!
So off to sleep for me and then lovely afternoon en famille.

I’m so happy to be here but I need a ‘wee hour in the shawl’!!

Wishing you all a peaceful lovely day.

henetha Mon 25-Dec-23 09:58:22

I'm not often in this thread but just want to wish all the lovely people on GN a truly happy Christmas 🎄.
May you all find peace in your own way. And let's hope that 2024 is a better year for everyone and the world.
Sincere greetings to you all.

Happy Christmas, everyone! Have your best days. Just MrB and me on the Boggy Brae today. BTDD is with her little family in the High Peak. She feels pretty ill at the moment. DD2 is among friends in Edinburgh. Minibaggs has a day off work then back to it earning dosh to take her, she hopes, cousinwards to the US in the summer. Any spare healing vibes you have, please send towards Derbyshire. 🎄
