I don’t have regrets, because there’s nothing I could have done differently, but I’ve struggled physically and emotionally with a second year of physical limitations caused by injuries, now with added arthritis. I think the main lesson has been that my resilience and wellbeing really do depend on being able to do certain things I enjoy which are quite physically demanding; even when I recover from these injuries, eventually time will limit my ability to do those things, so 2024 is the start of identifying activities to supplement and possibly eventually replace many of my current passions, and new ways of doing some others.
On the upside, my husband, who has a life-limiting illness, has made it through another year, with just a couple of scares, still fit and active. My sympathies to those who were not so lucky.
