Lego kits

My daughter bought me this kit last Christmas, not got round to building it yet.

I bought the small Christmas wreath tree decoration which was very cute.
I found them on Amazon.

When grandson was about 1 yr old I bought this suitcase full of Lego for £10 from a charity shop, it was in an old type suitcase you know the cardboard type.

It had lots of I suppose what is vintage Lego, not sets but all different parts, wheels, cogs, windows, people, etc,

He had great pleasure out of it, he is now 17 and not remotely interested of course lol. Other younger grandson who is 9 has never really been into Lego ,don't think he has the patience.

I did start sorting it all out as some rogue bricks got mixed into the original Lego. It kept me quiet for weeks it was like therapy lol.

I love Lego and the new adult sets are lovely. I've two sets of flowers and some succulents. We swap sets around the family. I've done the Great Wave and Starry Night. The grandchildren do them as well, great fun to be had for everyone. They make a fantastic birthday/Christmas/Mother's day present and can be sold or passed on easily if you don't care for keeping stuff or else leave them on display and enjoy them.

Not sure. He isn't too far from us so we collected. He's lovely, so ask him.

Lego is still very popular with my family. I have a red Lego suitcase that is filled with tiny Lego people and their accessories and all ages of grandchildren make a beeline for it on arrival. I also have a huge box of Lego that occasionally my sons delve into and create something out of.

Sainsbury had a great deal on sets in November, I got one reduced from £65 to £16. It was for granddaughters Christmas.

Hi Chestnut, apparently the issue is sorted.

At Alnwick Castle Gardens they have a model of the whole site made out of Lego. It’s fascinating.

My adult son has always been a Lego fan and has recently got back into building. He suffers from anxiety and finds building Lego therapeutic.

I agree the sets are very expensive. Lego seem to be catering more to adults these days and have some fantastic sets. I like the houses which you create a whole street with if you get them all.

I have one of the flower bouquets and the orchid - which looks quite realistic. I bought them with the idea of building them myself but my DS ended up doing them for me.

Our guilty pleasure is Legomasters Australia, what they build is incredible and it is fun to watch.

I recently bought my other half the James Bond, Aston Martin Lego set because a) he is a huge James Bond fan and b) it is excellent physiotherapy and helps cognitively too. My other half has Primary Progressive MS.

Our grandsons both love Lego, so it's something the 3 of them can do together.

I keep an eye out on our local facebook selling sites for kits as well as charity shops and pick up kits & bits and bobs as i go along.

I don't know about the website but can vouch for him. He was helpful and understanding of DS1's disability. Dh went to his home to pick up the kit and take it back. He showed him the room with all the sets and spare pieces.

Sounds as though I am related to him. I am not but think it's a brilliant idea.

I hope he can sort whatever is causing it so he doesn't lose customers. it is such a brilliant idea. Those kits are huge and expensive, and really, what can you do with them once completed?

Amazing what you can do with it but some models are just too big for yer average semi!

What a good idea kittylester I wonder how he ensures no pieces are missing.
I’m sure as my son spent so much money it was more for him than his son but they both enjoy time together without chatty daughter/sister piping up. 😂

There is a chap here who rents out sets. We have rented a couple for DS1.

I have an adult grandson who is very into them had a Ferrari for this Christmas but…..
