Living legend of aviation.

Has anyone else seen this?

Apparently instead of a serious astronaut being recognised, it’s going to Harry.

He was only a helicopter pilot for a short while surely not a living legend.

I have respect for anyone who masters the art of flying as I certainly wouldn’t be able to do it but to describe Harry as a living legend!

I wonder who puts him forward for these bizarre awards. Is he putting himself forward? Do you think he would turn it down if he realises that people think he’s ridiculous.

I suppose it’s on a par with new years honours where actors/singers get rewards for acting/singing, where ordinary people get ignored for working hard for genuine charities.

Grrr. I get so annoyed at this flummery.

What do you all think.

statement on the event’s website read: "Prince Harry is a humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist. He has dedicated his life to advancing causes that he is passionate about and that bring about permanent change for people and places."

Unless it's his own family, not humanitarian as regards them. He's a hypocrite of the first order. One wonders now, if after his terrible behaviour towards his family, his hatred of this country, said whilst in Afghanistan, if he only does it for self agrandisment.

So, Harry was presented his award last night by John Travolta at a glittering ceremony. Meghan was unable to attend because one of the children is unwell.

Oh, that old chestnut!
I’ve used it a few times myself in the distant past! 😂😂

Did he have a dance with John Travolta afterwards?

Who can forget this?

I am surprised that the poor monkey, Albert, who was the first to be sent into orbit in 1948 has not been nominated for an award, everyone else seems to be getting one, sadly he died.

A surprise she didn’t turn up to make a speech

*Anniebach, I am not talking about Prince harry's life I am talking about all these fake awards he keeps being offered - and accepting, like this Living Legend of Aviation - which he isn't. He got another award last year in a similar line. I think it was for something like being the person to make the greatest contribution to world peace in 2021/22 or some such, which he also didn't.

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-24 10:56:09

I don’t see his behaviour since 2018 as tinsel . Which is the true
Man ?

eazybee Sun 14-Jan-24 10:51:54

A Palace official said recently about H & M, in tones of disbelief, "Was this what it was all for? All the family break-up, all the arguments, all the distress caused? Just to end up on the Hollywood red-carpet circuit?"

And this is how it seems. One spurious award after another.

M0nica Sun 14-Jan-24 08:37:36

There is plenty that is positive about Prince Harry, its a shame he seems to want to cover his inherent goodness with so much tawdry tinsel.

Humanitarian - concern with or seeking to promote human
welfare, Oxford Dictionary

How good to see something positive about Harry

What has that got to do with being a Living Legend of Aviation, it doesn't mention his flying experience at all!

The Kiddie Hawk Trainers give children ages 4-9 a sense of flight, albeit only a few feet off the ground
Big deal!
Most funfairs offer considerably more than that as do “wind tunnel flying” experiences . Ot there’s playing aeroplanes being swung round your Dad’s head .

I can fly a plane. Do I qualify?

Yes!

I want to go up in a hot air balloon but I don't like heights.
I don't think I qualify. ☹

to boldly go. . . !
where no self-exiled minor royal has gone before . . .

Anniebach Sat 13-Jan-24 02:15:49

imaround you believe world wide coverage because it’s about Harry.

It is that unimportant. LOL But I am glad that the organization is getting world wide coverage because of this. Maybe more people who haven't won the award will donate to the good cause.

At the very least, the rich celebs can pat themselves on the back and give their money towards the charity. grin

William Shatner - now he could inspire children 🙂

Captain James T Kirk won an award from them last year.

The elderly actor from long ago? Interesting award.

Callistemon21 Fri 12-Jan-24 22:33:12

Awarded by the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy:

The Kiddie Hawk Air Academy is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to introducing, educating, and sparking children's interest in aviation. The Kiddie Hawk Trainers give children ages 4-9 a sense of flight, albeit only a few feet off the ground.

Captain James T Kirk won an award from them last year.

Wow, one would have thought that the average American knew anything about this award based on some posts here. Some American thing indeed. confused No one here, except maybe John Travolta and Tom Cruise, have ever even heard of this until this moment.

Oh, it's that unimportant, is it?

Just self-congratulatory celebs awarding themselves totally meaningless awards 😂😂😂
