Good Morning Friday 12th January 2024

Good morning everyone from a dry but chilly south Manchester. I’ve booked a hair appointment for a cut and blow and then will cross over the road to the MacMillan Centre for my penultimate complimentary reflexology session.

On the way home I shall pop into our larder and buy some white flowers. Our neighbour’s husband died recently in the hospice. I will knock on and give her a hug. It is beyond sad.

I have my first tap dancing class this morning followed by lunch out in town with DH.Then over the border to collect the children from school and bring them back here for a sleepover.

I had trouble with my teeth after biting into a florentine a couple of weeks ago karma.I hope you get your tooth sorted.

I managed to empty the ironing basket yesterday yippee. Reassuring news after eye check the AMD is at the moment not deteriorating.

Off to the gym this morning, first time since before Christmas, I will be aching tomorrow. My ears have finally equalised, head cold seems to be on the wain.

Well done to the talented budding ballet stars. Maw (((hugs))) for your friend’s funeral.

Good morning everyone from what looks to be a dry but chilly day here on the east coast of Fife. Me I’m still tucked into my cosy bed
I’m off out to do my shopping this afternoon, thankfully I’ve a pair of furry lined trousers ready to put on so I’ll be warm enough when I pick up the money raised from selling my old 45s found in the loft which I took to my local auction house I was hoping for more however I’ve still got more LP records stashed somewhere. Must check for more things in the loft giving it a real tidy up, the photo I’ve posted was after the tidy up I had last year.

Good morning from a dull Oxfordshire, I’m assuming it’s warmer as there isn’t any frost, but my thermometer has fallen off of the window, I’ve brought it in and it seems to be working, not sure how to reattach it though as the stickies aren’t sticky anymore.
I shall poodle around today, fetched my car back from the garage yesterday so I have wheels, I might travel, who knows?
I probably won’t though.

Good morning everyone. Cold and overcast for the day it seems. Just back from a short trip to Alicante to visit an elderly friend. The weather was good, sunny and 16 deg, but with a cool breeze out of the sun. I have an empty today so lots of clearing out to do.

Good morning Mick and all. It's 0°, rising to a heady 1°, on the Angus coast today but I'm watching the rising sun casting a rosy glow against a bright blue sky. It's going to be a beautiful day!
Yesterday's tai chi class was good. We ended up just doing three sets - with the all-important coffee break between sets 2 and 3 of course. I don't know about the rest of them, but I was shattered at the end of it! It's amazing how such slow and gentle exercise can give you such a good workout. I picked up some fish from the fishmonger and then went home and flopped. In fact I dozed all afternoon and then slept all night - but I think that was probably due to the hectic Christmas period rather than an hour of tai chi!
The central heating seems to have righted itself after its little glitch 🤞 so what was that about? There's very cold weather and ❄️ forecast for next week and probably longer, so let's hope it doesn't play up again.
Lots to do around the house today - whether I do it or not remains to be seen 😉. A lazy cosy indoors day has a certain appeal I must say. But I shall certainly take a wander round the garden and take a photo of the snowdrops before they are hidden from view!

Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy Carlisle. I won't mind it getting colder if only I could see blue skies and sun!
I bought my sound bar yesterday and it will be delivered and set up next week. Tech is so complicated these days, apps required on smartphones to set up/operate. However, I know folks who live without the latter and know I don't want that life.
In the afternoon I continued reading Rory Stewart's memoirs....my take-no wonder the country's in such a mess!

Today there is no essential housework so I will pootle around doing any little task that takes my fancy and then carry on depressing myself with the above-mentioned memoir.

I hope that tooth is ok karma. That's quite a drive you have to see the dentist. I do love a florentine myself but they are a risky eat for my dodgy teeth.

After 9 days neither of us is testing positive for Covid. We are still are far from well with me still coughing alot. Unusually, I was far worse than DH. We picked up GD from school on Wednesday and had GS yesterday for a few hours and then DD and GD came to pick him up and they played together for an hour. It was so nice to see people for the first time this year.

Hope your tooth is rescuable Karmalady. So frustrating to have your hospital appointment cancelled Marydoll.

Good morning from a chilly, grey Durham. It’s still damp, but not raining. I’ve woken with a headache, which I think, may be due to a new pillow.
Coffee this morning with a friend, then a quick blitz around Tesco. A bag to drop at the Charity Shop, then home to more cleaning/decluttering. Slow progress on both fronts.
I hope you get to speak to someone MD - you must be at your wit’s end (understatement).

Oldies’ coffee morning and then a face treatment so a busy morning, though I find the less I look in a mirror the more cheerful I am.

Sorry life is so hard for Marydoll and hope a productive conversation is possible. Such a relief that it isn’t raining that the weather seems favourable even though it is likely to stay very cold for the next week. Heating bill is likely to be huge but I am not going to be cold and miserable.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, 4°C outside just now. Not out on my usual Friday shopping trip today, have to stay in for a couple of phone calls, one from my travel insurers and the other from the physio at my surgery - be interested to see what physio is prescribed over the phone!

Managed to get round to hoovering the soft furnishings yesterday, then it was out to tap and ballet classes. Good luck Susan with your first tap class today! I am rubbish, but it is fun!

Then I got the bus down to the shop at our rugby club stadium where I got DS-in-law a lovely team jumper for his birthday, and also treated myself to a new team bobble hat, which I shall wear at tonight's match. It will be very cold! We are hosting a team from Bayonne in France, in the European Champions' Cup.

Good morning Mick and all from 4° Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Went into to see the optician yesterday and unzipping my coat, then absentmindedly unzipped my shift dress from top to bottom. He must have wondered what I had in mind….

Treated myself to lunch in town in a new place. Chose my favourite coronation chicken sandwiches.They arrived so thick, crusts on, I could hardly get my mouth round them. Suitable for “down the dock road” as my father used to say. I was sitting in the window and was amused by a seagull immediately outside my table, looking at me at tapping on the window with its beak. Cheeky bird.

Off to art soon and here is a card I made recently.

It's freezing here. Woke up with my boiler not working. Had coffee, did some yoga, now looking forward to going out for lunch

Good morning from a grey, damp NE.
Slept late this morning, my sleep patterns are erratic.
Today my friend is picking me up and we are going out for lunch at a gastropub, fourth time in a month for me but I am not complaining.
The house opposite me has sold at last, been empty and on the market for a year. I suspect a developer might have bought it as there is only about 40 years left on the lease and could cause problems if needing a mortgage.

A later good morning from me, it seems to take me ages to get going these days. Add in a hair wash and the day’s half gone.
That had to be done because I have a very early start tomorrow to drive to a very old relative’s funeral. A lovely lady and certainly not ‘no age’, she would have been 99 nest week. She was going regularly to Scottish country dancing until her early nineties!
I am concerned about forecasts of heavy frost tomorrow because I really can’t cope with icy roads, I do hope I can manage to go.

Ash I read later on yesterday about your DGD’s achievement, you must be proud and delighted.

Out for coffee this morning with a lovely neighbour to our Community Cafe. It’s situated just outside our town and gives employment to young people with support needs and the cheese scones are just delicious!

This afternoon I’m going to watch the last episode of ‘Fool Me Once which I decided to keep for during the day having watched the previous one from between my fingers!

Good morning from Glasgow. It’s dry and milder so far but an ominous grey sky may change that.

I completely forgot the C decorations taken down were all put into another room, door closed, for me to pack away later, that will be one of today’s tasks. I bought some plant supporting moss poles to tie a quickly growing trailing plant up, each pole of 1ft fits into another, I bought four so, voila, a new tall plant, an other pleasurable task for a change.

Have the best day possible and one of a touch of slight relief for those with difficult times to bear.
