Good morning from Glasgow. It’s dry and bright but still damp today. We are supposedly having snow on Wednesday, one day only🤞

No plans and no idea what to do today so I will have a think about my choices. Lazy day v to do list. The world is my oyster.

Certainly worth a try Grammaretto. I have been thinking about adding DD1 to mine which would be very handy. If you don’t ask, you don’t get is my mantra.

It’s a very chilly start to the day here. Temp is showing 2 degrees. There’s a church service today (they’re not as regular as they used to be), so going to that, but will need to wrap up warmly as it will be cold in church. It often feels colder inside church than outside 🥶.
Other than that, I have a quiet day ahead. Just a few indoor jobs to get on with but then I think I’ll settle down with my book.

Morning from South Lanarkshire and thank you to all those who wished me well for my driving journey yesterday. It was fine, being early Saturday the roads were quiet and although cold it wasn’t icy. The funeral went well, a reflection of a long life lived well although with all the challenges and sorrow that living brings.
I was slept for two hours when I got home and then late this morning, I don’t bounce back so easily now!
I should add that The Campsie Hills were quite beautiful framed against the blue sky.

I did read Baggs post last night and I join with everyone sending love, prayers and what support we can.

Automatic renewal of any insurance is a no-no these days. Seems daft that companies are prepared to lose loyal customers by hiking up premiums and offering the best deals to new policy holders.

Good morning all. Late getting up this morning so I'm posting first and reading later. The weather is bright-ish and cloudy-ish, but there's a stiffer breeze. We're forecast snow on Tuesday, so we'll see what happens. Just good old January doing its worst.
Nothing on the agenda today except all the things I promised myself I'd do yesterday 😉. After all that traipsing up and down the country recently I think my body is just enjoying being still. Well, that's my current excuse anyway!

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, 1°C outside, sleet forecast late afternoon.

A good shopping trip yesterday, including a sausage butty in the M&S Cafe; found a lovely grey cardigan in Sainsbury's, which I shall wear to my DBrother-in-law's funeral in a couple of weeks.
A chat on the phone with a neighbour sharing our concerns about another neighbour who is desperately ill with cancer; we fear that she has not long left; her DH is her sole carer and we worry for them, not really knowing how best to help. There seems to be nothing we can do, but just be there.

Spent the afternoon watching Friday night's rugby match again, revelling in the joy of a 61-14 win!

Quiet day in, plenty of recordings to choose from, maybe watch another rugby match. and the Sunday paper to read. Lamb chops for dinner. Must ring a taxi company to book for Wednesday night for our wine club dinner.

Thoughts are with Baggs and her family.

DS proposed himself to come and take me out to lunch so I look forward to his arrival later his morning. I appreciate his kindness as his life is so busy, and see his dear father in him more and more. Hope everyone else has a good enough day, thoughts with Baggs and those with anxieties.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey, cold and wet, we’ve not seen any sunshine for ages
I got my hair done yesterday and it looks so much better, today it’s a day mostly pottering about until late afternoon when we’re picking up DGS for his Sunday sleepover.
Well done with your shopping around for car insurance nannyjan it’s a big saving. No doubt we’ll be doing the same in a month or so

Another day of staying at home. The cold sets me off coughing so I’ll not be going to Church.

A late morning all from West Oxfordshire. Elder son and his family stayed over last night and have just left for a trip to Cheddar Gorge. They gave me a belated Christmas present of a beautiful lady bird brooch. I will pop in to see then next week after a study day at Tate Britain which I’m looking forward to. Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle where it is 1°C and may warm up to 2°C!
Yesterday, the sun glinted out now and then so after lunch I popped out into the garden and did some trimming back. Naturally, the sun disappeared whilst I worked and came back out again when I went in having had enough of the raw cold.
Other than that, I had a long phone chat with my sister, read my book and trained my brain.
Today that brain is telling me to stop procrastinating and making excuses and to get on with defrosting the kitchen freezer, a job I detest. I know I shall feel so good when it's done!

Zumba this morning at the gym, then a relaxing afternoon.

Talking of car insurance. I paid £174 last year, renewal came at £329!! So onto comparison websites (Money Saving Expert one) and Tesco was £189. Rang current provider and best they could do was £272, so renewed with Tesco. Funnily enough I changed from Tesco in about 2018 as they became too expensive. Why do we have to go through this farce every year??

Good morning all from a frosty Glasgow, where it's -3°C. Brrr.

I have to go to church, with my diplomatic services hat on to deal with a problem. It needs to be resolved.
At least I will see Dollie💕, who will be at Mass.
Yesterday, DD and SIL popped in looking for homemade soup, after a walk over the braes. DH and I (when I was fit) used to do the same walk in our courting days. 😍
We were sitting chatting, when SIL said he had spotted on the camera someone at their door.
We were hysterical at the video of Dollie shaking her fist, when SIL spoke through the camera, telling her they weren't in and were down at gran and papa's.
They too had been out for a walk, as part of their New Year fitness regime.

I plan to do nothing, when I return. Life is rather problematic at the moment and I am permanently wiped out.

Good morning from a cold,dry Suffolk.

We had some lovely photos of DGD4’s sleepover on Friday night. According to DD they were all very good. She went to bed at 11pm and didn’t wake till 6.45am so whatever they were doing,they did it quietly.

Reading about the shocks some of you have had with car insurance quotes,I’m really glad that I opted in to an offer by LV to accept a 3 year tie in for the same premium. The price was very reasonable and they were very helpful when my car was written off in 2022. Another year to go on the fixed price. I bet that offer won’t be available again and I shall be as shocked as you next year.

A gentle day of pottering ahead. Thinking of those who have worries and upsets in their lives.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and dry. Like many of you, snow is forecast. Bellasnana the chocolates are lovely! I'm eking them out. GrandMattie what an unpleasant shock for you. Susan safe journey at this sad time. Karma it is a worry, isn't it? The cost of living is horrendous just now. I can't understand why insurance has shot through the roof.
Yesterday was a housework and washing day. Then the family popped in. It was unexpected but lovely. Dgs2 has learned more words so was busy practising them. Everything was "brown." Dgs1 wasn't well. He had a headache and was generally woebegone. Later dd said his adult molars are coming through so perhaps that was why.
Today I'll go to Aldi as I didn't go yesterday. Later I'll visit mum. In between I'll potter about. It's much to cold to spend time in the garden, although I really want to. But a bit of moss sweeping will give me outdoor time. Homemade pizza followed by baked apple for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning, a dry start to Sunday here in south Glos.
I completed two modules of my art course yesterday, I will start the next today.
I noticed that I have more primroses out but no snowdrops yet, the wintersweet is flowering as is the vibernum with its wonderful scent.
Today a dog walk as usual, it’s still very muddy everywhere so perhaps we’ll drive further afield?

Good morning from a dry and bright Oxfordshire.
MrOops has kindly passed on his head cold, so I’m coughing and sneezing, the Day Nurse type tablets (according to our Pharmacy actual Day Nurse tablets have been withdrawn due to an ingredient problem, Night Nurse are still available) seem to help for a while. So he will take the dog out later when she arrives and I will stay in the warm, with a box of tissues on my lap.
Jigsaw finished but a piece missing, have contacted Ravensburger for their thoughts.

L’il Miss doesn’t like being outside in the cold, especially not understanding the game much! Would much rather be here, in the warm, playing with her toys or colouring.

My ring doorbell tells me it’s been raining overnight but like yesterday I’ll be having another jammy day. I watched the Quartet on Netflix yesterday it’s worth a mention to you all if you’re fond of classical music. It brought a tear to my eyes.

I had a very good day yesterday. I got up late which I didn’t mind. Went outside to burn some paperwork and ended up spending three and a half hours in the garden. It was a good potter here and there and it was nice to see the blue sky. It did me good.
Today will be a pottering indoor day. I’ve a curtain to mend and the washing machine is already on.
