Good Morning Everyone,
Dark, dry and cold at the moment here in brackley .
I will hopefully get the bus to Bicester for a couple of hours ,and hope the weather does not change later'
The week personally will depend on the weather as to further movements away from home.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It looks a bit frosty out on the rooftops. I plan to get a bus to my stepfather’s later. He told me at the weekend he’s not had a ‘first footer’ yet. Made me feel a bit guilty as well as sad.

No Matt = Monday.

Good morning from a frosty and bitterly cold Suffolk.

We had a lovely trip to Snape yesterday and a walk towards Iken. Today I should get on and do more declutterring but I’m finding it difficult to get rid of some parts of my past. I must abandon the idea that “ it might come in useful” when whatever the item is,it hasn’t so far for years. Why do I think it might now!

So sorry,gM to hear about your sister. I hope she doesn’t suffer too much pain.

A cold but dry start here in Oxfordshire with the promise of a lovely sunny week forecast. Perfect winter weather.
A lot of walking over the weekend which I enjoyed and dog appreciated.
Another working week but I'm at home today.
Thinking of those with health worries, for themselves and their loved ones.

Good morning from chilly South Lanarkshire, we have a light covering of snow.

Glad your bp is improving Kalu and I hope you can find something tasty to tempt your DH.

Sorry to hear about your sister gM.

We had 30 minutes in a muddy field yesterday with our daft dug and DD’s rambuctious pup who annoys the life out of ours. They were a little better after their run together so we’ll do that again.

Volunteering today, hopefully it will be a busy morning.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

monk08 Mon 15-Jan-24 08:24:36

Good morning all from the Black country where we have a slight dusting of snow.
Ironing and more decluttering today.
So sorry to hear sad news of your sister grandMattie 💐
Like the picture of your cheeky little friend Mizuna.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a bright and cold Oxfordshire, the grass is a bit crunchy this morning so a slight overnight frost.
Not much happening today, a shopping delivery lunchtime, followed by a bit of indoor pottering.
MrOops has taken over dog walking duties whilst I nurture my cold and cough, the Day Nurse type tablets from Sainsburys are helping, it was nice to sit on the sofa yesterday with the sun on my face, let’s hope for more today.
My thoughts are with Baggs and GM 💐
Have as good a day as you can peeps and stay warm.

Georgesgran Mon 15-Jan-24 08:32:36

Good morning from a cold, bright Durham, where there was a flurry of snow last night.
Coffee with a friend this morning, then a drop off at the Charity Shop, clothing bin and council tip, before I get back to more sorting/decluttering/cleaning. It’s going very slowly.
Thinking of gM and Baggs
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another clear sky and pretty sunrise.
💐*grandmattie*, baggs and everyone with worries or feeling poorly.
Another day of not much here, trying to make sure I am properly well again as soon as possible. I may go for a short walk later..
Have the best day you can.

Morning from -2 on the east coast of Fife it looks like it’s been raining all night according to my ring doorbell.

It was snowing a little yesterday but that’s all melted now perhaps that’s why it looks like it’s been raining. The snow has really landed up north though.

I’m off to M&S this afternoon with my lovely carer to buy food for the weekend when my family will be visiting, my ds and gs are staying over for one night it’s going to be great fun

Thinking of those who have no family or those who are estranged, hugs to you.

Good morning, I am expecting a lovely sunny cold day today in s somerset

I put my smart meter monitor away yesterday, now there are sentences alternating between, `daily total` and `weekly budget exceeded` I never gave that monitor a budget and it is a step too far, I won`t be dictated too by an AI bot on a screen in my home

Today I will do my finances, clarify and transfer info into a smaller notebook. I do this roughly once a year. I do miss m/s money, it was such a good easy programme and kept me on the straight and narrow for many years.

Bed-changing today and some knitting to finish my jumper

Have a good day

I have found an app called Easybudget that keeps track of everyday spending. I use it on my tablet. Nowhere near as good as Microsoft money.... I miss it too.

Good morning all and it’s freezing cold but the sun is bright over the sea, here in Suffolk.
We had a good journey up here yesterday and had a restful day.
A walk along the beach and back to our cosy cottage. This house is much warmer than the one in Essex and we have the woodburner too. Considering we overlook the North Sea here ! 🌊. I won’t mind if we get snowed in and can’t get back ‘home’. 😉.

Mizuna I love to see a Robin and they do become a constant companion in the garden. Never had one come in the house, though.

Liberty we often do that walk from Iken to Snape, it’s lovely.
I expect Snape was busy as it was a pleasant day and interesting to walk around and have a coffee/lunch.

You are in my prayers and thoughts Baggs🙏
Sad news for you GM. 🙏.

Hoping you all have a gentle day. 🌷

GrannySomerset Mon 15-Jan-24 08:55:48

U3A this morning so must get on. Field at the back of the house is white with frost so the car will need scraping - wish the garage was wide enough for the car but although I can drive it in there isn’t room to actually get out of it.

Sympathy to gMattie, thoughts with Baggs and Marydoll and hope for a good enough day for the rest of us.

Greyduster Mon 15-Jan-24 09:17:34

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny but ‘fair nithering’ South Yorkshire. Minus one outside. After an unplanned start to my day yesterday that took up the whole morning, I managed to catch the second half of GS’s footie match in the afternoon. Very exciting. We lost. My goodness it was cold! We went out for a roast dinner at the local pub after the boy had cleaned off all the mud, and it was very nice, but my car was making an intermittent odd noise that it seemed no one could hear but DD and myself. Bat ears times two! I’m going to wrap up warm and clean the inside so I’ll have a good look round it.
To all those with worries 🙏🏻💐.
Have the best you can folks.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning Mick and good morning all. I'm late again and with 38 posts ahead of me I shall have to post first and read later.
According to my phone, it's -1° here but "feels like -8°". I believe it! It's a beautiful morning again though, and the light smattering of white stuff is lovely to look at.
DD's New Man's old dog passed away yesterday, much to the grief of the family. She was a lovely old girl and had been part of their lives "for ever", but I feel she was probably ready to go.
For the past few days I've scarcely put a foot outside the door - and wish I didn't have to today! I'm definitely in hibernation mode now. However, there's a tai chi committee meeting this afternoon and a trip to Tesco's is overdue. Oh the joys!
I hope all is well with everybody, and I look forward to reading about all your doings later. Have a good day x

Good morning from a very sunny, frosty and cold East Midlands.

aggie Mon 15-Jan-24 09:41:56

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 0°C.

I have been poorly for the last week or so with what turned out to be a kidney infection. It’s feeling better now, fingers crossed it will soon be gone.

Happy Monday everyone 🌹

Good morning from a cold sunny icy Eden, the local farmers' call sums it up"Morning Brass monkeys,eh?".
Love to all who are ill or have poorly relations.

Good morning Mick and all from 2° Sunnyside northwest coast.

Nice trip to Snowdonia yesterday but the weather was rainy and dull through the impressive Llanberis Pass, so not quite the scene it can be. I popped into the church in Llanberis and there was an exhibition of photographs found in an attic of the quarrymen etc from the 1800s who worked the slate mines there, over 3000 at one time. The house had originally belonged to a professional photographer. What a hard life!

Will work out a recital programme today and make up beds for forthcoming visitors.
Thoughts to Baggs grandmattie and all with worries 🌺

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 15-Jan-24 10:26:42

Karma the ‘budget exceeded’ part of the monitor is to let you know that if you continually exceed the ‘budget’ they will increase your monthly payments.
Mine goes up and down, exceeded one day then drops the next, usually due to the tumble dryer and oven, as long as I can account for the fluctuations I’m not bothered.
The monitor is unplugged and in the drawer, but I go into my account periodically to check on my usage.

Litterpicker Mon 15-Jan-24 11:40:19

Good morning from sunny West Sussex. DH is volunteering all day today so I have an ‘empty’ 😁. I didn’t get up early as I planned but I’m still hoping to complete my to-do list and go to Tai Chi at 1. The washing is on and I am having a cup of tea before bracing myself to go outside and gather up pots and compost for the sweet pea seeds that I bought at the weekend.

I hope those in the snow areas are well stocked up with food and jigsaws/knitting/reading etc

Sorry to hear about your sister Grandmattie.
Thinking of Baggs, Kalu and Marydoll.

So sorry to see your news, gMattie thinking of baggs and all with illness and worries.

Greetings and salutations! I'm on a quick 10 minute work break with the 2nd mug of Cup-A-Soup of the day, tomato 1st now chicken and vegetable.

It was -0.4 C., now it's 3.3! I LOVE winters!

Our little cat was sleeping between us again last night, under the duvet, head snuggled on hubby's beard, all cute and cosy and singing her gorgeous little head off. I was on my back then she decided to move to my legs but didn't care about literally walking all over my face to get there! HA!

Urmstongran Mon 15-Jan-24 14:05:18

Another photo of beautiful scenery PurplePixie thank you for sharing. I assume taken on a walk close to home? Lovely.
