Back on track!

I've just finished organising & clearing old documents and paperwork - concertina files and ring binders used to file bank statements, wage slips, utility statements, etc.
I've shredded old papers and put into recycling bin.
It's cathartic clearing and decluttering.

I like the idea of arranging “for the bins to be washed” - is there someone in your area who does that, or will you smile nicely at a DH or AC? . Last time I cleaned ours out (they’re about 4ft tall), I sprayed inside with the garden hose, then accidentally tipped one over, drenching myself

There are people who do it round here - £5 per bin.

Finished my job on Saturday in readiness to pack up my house and move away. Definitely on a mission now to get that done!

Today I can't find the repeat prescription order I need to take to the chemist 🙂

I have sorted out the airing cupboard and the bathrooms, after a continuous stream of visitors.

I don’t understand why you would pay someone to clean your bin everything goes in back bags before going in the bin so it doesn’t get dirty ?

I regularly clean and bleach my dustbins.

When we get wheely bins I will pay someone to come and clean them as I am only 5’2” and would rather not fall in one head first.

Ours have never recovered from the workmen we recently had in.

We have wheelies 🙂. One for general rubbish. 1 for recycling, one for glass, and one for garden compost stuff.

My new year start is to spring clean. 1st week a spare bedroom used as a store cupboard✅. 2nd week just started the conservatory. Next week the snug living room and so forth. I aim to have it all finished by March when I can start in the garden and focus on outdoors.

No - we have two large bins - one for recyclable stuff and one for the rest. The non recyclable stuff has to be bagged, but the recyclables not.

You wouldn’t believe what get put in bins
We have three holiday cottages All have peddle bins and as many liners as they need. Loose food unwrapped nappies dog waste bags etc
Regular Jet wash and sunshine does the trick

I don't think I've ever been organised except at work. Since I retired I just take each day as it comes. If I feel like cleaning or baking I do it but not in any organised way.
As for the wheelie bin, ours comes back from the bin boutique smelling lovely.

I feel great - I went through my wardrobe yesterday and cleared out the clothes I haven’t worn for over 2 years and don’t foresee wearing…… 2 charity bags, full. Left them out last night for the vans, and was glad this morning, to see they were gone.

Callistemon I order my repeat prescription via the NHS app. Then I go and collect it. No pieces of paper to lose.

it does get dirty and you still get flies eggs/maggots. If it is only £5 a bin, it isn;t a huge cost. It is £14 a bin here though

I didn’t realise there are bin-cleaners. I’ve learned something new today.

Unfortunately, shredded paper can’t go in the recycle bin, so I’m a bit stuck wondering what to do with it.
The Council says to put it in ‘your own composting bin’ which I no longer have.
I’m also trying to declutter quite ruthlessly - it’s taken a week to do 2 rooms!

Oh me too Jane! We moved in October. We're still moving boxes from room to room to allow the decorator space to work.

The cupboard of doom containing far more lids than re-usable plastic boxes is tamed. Much jubilation here. 🙂😂
