We are going into town to upgrade our phones this morning. A lengthy process but needs must. I'm sure coffee will feature somewhere whilst we are waiting around.

Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy Carlisle where it has just started raining. Another day in I think.

I got the laundry done yesterday and shall get my routine cleaning largely done this morning. Yesterday afternoon I set up my new toy, a microscope. I hope I can remember how to use it and prepare slides etc. I have been dithering over what type to get for months. You can mount a mobile phone on it to take photos of specimens, so you can all look forward to seeing pics of my blood cells in due course! If it all works....

I'm supposed to trek over to Newcastle tomorrow but Jocelyn is forecast to be still raging in the morning so it may be wise to cancel. I shall have to make my mind up shortly.

I'm sorry you've lost a good friend, kittylester, a hole in your life now.

Good morning from Glasgow. No strong winds so far but it is lashing down again with heavy grey skies. This miserable weather is relentless.

My car has just been collected to be fitted with a part which wasn’t available when it was in for a service recently and it will be dropped off later today. No need to go out so far. 🤞

Another at home day then foutering about indoors when I would rather be outdoors pottering about in the garden getting some fresh air and therapy I get when spend time out there.

Good morning from Shropshire.Rain and a moderate breeze forecast all day.

We caught up with laundry and admin yesterday and finished unpacking.Today I have a small to do list and then hoping for a quiet afternoon reading.

Much excitement this morning as DD1 and family had a family of muntjac deer right outside the window of their lodge at Center Parcs.

Grandmabatty I hope DGS1 is feeling better.

Yesterday’s weather was horrendous, torrential rain, high winds and huge hailstones. Trees down everywhere but thankfully no reports of any casualties.

I’ve an empty diary today so will just see how the day evolves.

Good morning everyone from a wet south Manchester. We slept poorly last night after receiving less than good news yesterday afternoon from Christie about the recent scan. Immunotherapy stops now and a new course of a different chemotherapy starts next week. Upwards and onwards hopefully.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry and calm.
All the local chat is about “is the road open?”. I’m hoping that it will be by 11 as I’m off to meet friends in town for lunch and do some shopping. If the floodwater is still there I’ll go the long way round.

Good morning from a calm,dry Suffolk. I think we should get off reasonably lightly again in the next storm making its way from the west.

Apart from the daily morning dog walk,nothing on the agenda so we’ll see how the day progresses. I should think of a bit of decluttering( I can’t say more as I haven’t really started yet!) but I suspect one of the books I got for Christmas will take precedence.

Hope today is a positive one for all,especially those burdened with worries.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 6°C.
We had wind and torrential rain for most of yesterday and at one point the streets were white with massive hailstones.
I just wish it would heat up a bit, this weather is seriously impacting on my health. I wish there was an equivalent of WD40 for humans! My whole body has seized up!

Thankfully, the ceiling in the church was intact, apart from a huge bulge. Our large sixties church needs to be pulled down, but the older parishioners will not hear of it. It needs a new heating system, full rewire, replastering, a damp course and the dampness is lifting the beautiful parquet floor flooring in many places.
I could weep when I go in to open up.

My main purpose yesterday after checking for water ingress was to clean the antique, fragile water and wine cruets, which were very stained. I never got a chance.
A Nigerian family have recently arrived in our town and were experiencing great difficulty getting their children into school. The P.P had told them that I would assist them. He is an expert at delegating! 😉
This has been going on for weeks and the mother appeared yesterday, asking for more help. The wheels of the LA turn very slowly!
She speaks perfect English, but cannot understand how difficult it is to actually find a human being, to discuss this with and that I can only advise. Everything has to be done by electronically by Contact us forms. It is so frustrating.
I mentioned that the family keep calling me Ma. The P.P said that is what they called the respected elders members of their community and that I should feel honoured!

We badly need to do an essential food shop, it is so unlike me to run out of things. I cannot sum up the energy! I have been forced to go out today. It will do me good to have some social interaction. I have become very insular.

My thoughts and prayers, as always are with those, who are struggling with ill health and sorrow.

Had a good clear up in the garden yesterday and sat in the sunshine for a while looking at other things to do.

I’ve an appoint this afternoon just when it’s forecast to be pouring with rain, oh well!

Kittylester I'm sorry to hear about your friend. 💐 Taichinan dd said he perked up last night so I hope that continues today. I've just been out and swept up the tangle of small branches and twigs that were at the bottom of my drive. They are all from next doors tree but they blithely ignore them. Grr. Hopefully the drain they were covering won't be choked now for storm Jocelyn

Good morning from Durham. A wet and windy day forecast, getting worse as the day progresses. BT coming to instal new cables, as a nasty woman on a nearby estate has threatened to cut them if they cross her garden! She means it and Police are often involved to deal with her. BT are re-routing to avoid any confrontation.
So sorry to hear of the loss of friends and neighbours - they can never be replaced in our hearts?
I’ve no plans, so more decluttering, especially as DD1 has access to an industrial incinerator. She has hurt her back, so I’ll see if she needs help.

Good morning all from the Angus coast. It's still pitch dark out there with no glimmer of light in the sky. (I've even checked the clocks to make sure I haven't got up in the middle of the night by mistake but they all agree it's 7.40am 😉). I don't know whether or not Jocelyn has been during the night, but there's certainly a lot of rain and wind forecast for today. Tuesday, so it's Tai Chi followed by shopping, followed by afternoon TV watched from behind my eyelids as I've only had four hours' sleep.
Your little twin grandsons sound so cute Bella, and it's lovely that they will be bi-lingual.
Hope your little dgs1 feels a bit better today Grandmabatty.

Good morning from a dark and dismal Black Country, where for the moment it isn't raining!

Busy day today, over to Mums as she has a home appointment for a check up on her hearing and hearing aids. Then meeting a group of friends for lunch at a pub not far from Mums.

Then pay a visit to a friend who used to be my Manager at work, she lives not far from the venue, then back to Mums, as I will stay the night as she has a home appointment tomorrow from someone from the Memory Clinic.
