Good morning Mick and all of you on this lovely thread.

We expect isolated showers and a high of 14°C here in Malta today.

DD3 is still off sick so I do not need to be at their place quite as early as usual, hence I am watching the tennis from Australia. My least favourite player (Djokovic) is about to begin his match.

The painter made quite good progress yesterday but I find his methods unorthodox to say the least. I shall be having words this morning as he seems to have painted over cracks which need to be plastered.

I’ll be off to help out with the boys later on so DD3 can rest. I was thrilled to know that one of them had been calling ‘Nana’ when I wasn’t there! They don’t talk much yet but understand in both English and Maltese so I’m sure there will be no stopping them soon!

Good morning from Bristol. Storm Jocelyn is yet to affect us after the brief hiatus from storm Isha! What is going on? It certainly won’t be cold today with highs of 13C.
Yesterday was mostly quiet after a quick visit to toddlers and to Tesco with my upstairs neighbour and her friend. I made a cake for this afternoon and did some sewing.
Today, I’ve got a church tea (hence the cake) but nothing else.
The painter has colonised the living room so I’ve been banished to the spare room, where I shall keep my sewing machine and stuff, or my bedroom. I heat neither room.
Thoughts and prayer to baggs, kalu, Marydoll, Urms and anyone else needing them. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

A calmer good morning from the north Wales coast (the dreaded Jocelyn has yet to arrive 😤, may sh3 miss us altogether….)

A sad goodbye today to a dear neighbour who was kind enough to give me lots of soft fruits for jams, puddings etc each summer - I opened the last loganberry yesterday and hope we have another friend soon to share a chilled glass 🥂in our summer house.

According to the BBC weatherman yesterday, for the past 100 years or more there has been an increase in precipitation which is most likely due to global warming, grandMattie. Who knows?!

How wonderful that your little grandsons will be bilingual, Bellasnana! Good luck with the painter!

I felt very tired at my exercise class yesterday so a good night's sleep was welcome! Off to Props this morning which will be busy as we have the items from last week's play to check and return to their rightful place. Luckily, we have a good organiser in the Props Lead who keeps us on track!

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks wet, fortunately less windy.

The waves were still crashing yesterday, only observed from the car as I passed by. Brave souls trying to walk along the prom (the tide was far enough out for no danger) were having a hard time of it, so very windy still.

I’m a bit weary after an irritatingly disturbed night with cramp. General faffing this morning, Mr C has a blood test early afternoon, will perhaps head out for a while then, see how we both feel and what gifts the weather brings.

I am up to date, freezer contains ready meals, zip repair has been done for dd, house is fine. It is going to have to be one of those days when I make some work or entertainment for myself

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and damp. Cornergran my sympathies. I had a disturbed night too.
Yesterday was a challenge because dgs1 was very poorly and just cried for his mummy and daddy off and on most of the morning. I took them back to their house for a nap in the afternoon and that helped settle him.
Today DD is letting them sleep later and will contact me once they're up. It'll be a day in the house until dgs1 gets better. As there's to be torrential rain, that won't be a hardship. Easy dinner of pie and beans for later. Have a good day all

Good morning from Lancashire. The wind seems to have died down at last, so I'm hoping to get out and catch up on things before the next storm arrives.

Quiz last night was, as usual, fun, we messed up the last round, so no prize.
This morning I have to update the shared spreadsheet for yesterday’s calls on the voluntary phone line, it was a busy day.
Today will be quieter, housework, a walk and start the house insurance hunt.

Good morning from a still dark South Downs. I love these quiet mornings before the day starts. I think the forecast is wet and windy, so will make a start on spring cleaning the little sitting room (snug), which apart from the conservatory is the most used room.

Yesterday I cleared another book case and sorted it out into “keep, for friends/family and charity” looking much tidier, only another 4to go and I will have nice tidy bookcases. I am embarrassed to say that I had more books than I realised that I haven’t yet read, so will refrain (hopefully) from buying more until that pile has gone down.

We are getting lots of visits from a sparrow hawk lately, which makes all the birds very jittery (unsurprisingly) but much more so than when next doors cat is around.

Well one and all have a good day - the evenings are certainly drawing out now which is very welcome. Lots of bulbs with buds so spring isn’t too far away.

More housework today. I did all the shopping, laundry and my ironing yesterday - OH does his own ironing.

Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day. We have branded brollies but it's too windy to use them so they don't sell well.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's raining and somewhat windy. Might have my first coffee inside rather than on my patio, will poke my nose out in a minute and decide.

To my prayer friend's house this morning, then to our quirky department store to buy a lava lamp in their January sale and to meet another friend in the café overlooking the sea.

I must go to Argos soon to buy a new ink cartridge for my printer. I use it quite a lot for various reasons.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire. It’s going to be a wet one today. In enjoyed yesterday despite my early start. Breakfast with DD and the menfolk at a lovely cafe near their house, then in a shop on the way home I ran into an old colleague of mine from my work days. We hadn’t seen each other for ages but she said that just that morning, she had been thinking of me! How weird is that. I also bought new walking shoes yesterday as I have just about worn the tread off my old ones.
Making chilli this morning and then volunteering this afternoon.

Good morning from a dark and dismal Black Country, where for the moment it isn't raining!

Busy day today, over to Mums as she has a home appointment for a check up on her hearing and hearing aids. Then meeting a group of friends for lunch at a pub not far from Mums.

Then pay a visit to a friend who used to be my Manager at work, she lives not far from the venue, then back to Mums, as I will stay the night as she has a home appointment tomorrow from someone from the Memory Clinic.

Good morning all from the Angus coast. It's still pitch dark out there with no glimmer of light in the sky. (I've even checked the clocks to make sure I haven't got up in the middle of the night by mistake but they all agree it's 7.40am 😉). I don't know whether or not Jocelyn has been during the night, but there's certainly a lot of rain and wind forecast for today. Tuesday, so it's Tai Chi followed by shopping, followed by afternoon TV watched from behind my eyelids as I've only had four hours' sleep.
Your little twin grandsons sound so cute Bella, and it's lovely that they will be bi-lingual.
Hope your little dgs1 feels a bit better today Grandmabatty.

Good morning from Durham. A wet and windy day forecast, getting worse as the day progresses. BT coming to instal new cables, as a nasty woman on a nearby estate has threatened to cut them if they cross her garden! She means it and Police are often involved to deal with her. BT are re-routing to avoid any confrontation.
So sorry to hear of the loss of friends and neighbours - they can never be replaced in our hearts?
I’ve no plans, so more decluttering, especially as DD1 has access to an industrial incinerator. She has hurt her back, so I’ll see if she needs help.

Kittylester I'm sorry to hear about your friend. 💐 Taichinan dd said he perked up last night so I hope that continues today. I've just been out and swept up the tangle of small branches and twigs that were at the bottom of my drive. They are all from next doors tree but they blithely ignore them. Grr. Hopefully the drain they were covering won't be choked now for storm Jocelyn
