I asked my own Admiral and he has his own views on this

I had lunch with our own Admiral on Sunday and was tempted to ask him if the reason he was grumbling about cancelled trains back to London was because he had a couple of ships to repair!

His expression said, DON’T!!

RosiesMaw some of us seem unable to reverse into or out of their own drives without churning up the front lawn so it looks like a ploughed field

I blame visitors 😃

I would be surprised that HMS Chiddingford managed to pass the vigorous sea trials and navigated all the way to Bahrain without realising that the navigation system was incorrectly wired.

I think it was an accident, and as we all know accidents happen.

Absolutely!!

Does that therefore mean HMS Chiddingford reversed all the way to Bahrain? 🤨

TWO Navy warships crashed into each other because one was incorrectly rewired so it reversed instead of going forward, sources have claimed.
The minehunter HMS Chiddingfold smashed into HMS Bangor in Bahrain on Thursday after it failed to moor alongside it, leaving HMS Bangor with a large rip along its side.
Sources have told The Telegraph that HMS Chiddingfold accidentally reversed as a result of “faulty engine controls producing astern instead of ahead”. According to The Guardian, the vessel’s motor was “wired incorrectly”, which caused full ahead to give “full astern
Aye, right.
Somehow I feel less 😳blush😳blush😳 about reversing carefully out of my drive at the same time as Barbara next door whose drive is at right angles to mine and obscured by high shrubs , and have the slowest shunt ever as we crawled backwards into each other.
