Thank you to everyone for your wonderful kind words.

Morning from a grey, windy Co Durham. Rain forecast for later. Probably when I walk to collect dgd from school. She was deposited early today then I was no sooner back from school walk when our Sainsbury’s delivery arrived. All put away now. Went to my Pilates class last night, it was so hard as my back is still painful after I hurt it last week.
I’ve read your posts daily but too late to post myself.
Thinking of those with health problems and other stresses. Safe travels to those on the move. Happy holidays to those away from home.

Good morning Mickand all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 5°C, windy and drizzling.

I had a good night, no nocturnal bathroom visits so fingers crossed that’s sorted. Nothing planned for today, we will see how it goes. I will try and catch up with a few chores and a little decluttering.

Enjoy your ‘jolly’ Pantglas. I love visiting different cities when the legs are up to it.

Your dream seems like a good plot for a Netflix mini series Taichinan!

Slow but steady is the way after major surgery PurplePixie, hope all is going well.

Marydoll flowers.

Have the best day you can, whatever you’re doing today 🦩

A late good morning from my very windy bit of South Lanarkshire. I am heading into Glasgow in a wee while to meet DGD1 for lunch. I really would rather hunker down, it’s wild and wet here but I called off last week which would have been our first of the new term, because I was very tired so I don’t want to do the same again.
I’ll drive up to the station in case I get blown away!

Your trip with pals sounds great Pantglas, enjoy!

Hope today improves for you Marydoll and wishing everyone some joy to come.

Good morning from a lovely sunny East Midlands. Last day of the month. Progress is slow with the recovery from the hysterectomy but I will get there. Have a lovely day everyone. Hugs to those who are unwell or just low of mood.

BlueSapphire Wed 31-Jan-24 09:40:06

Good morning everyone from a brightish Northampton, a bit cloudy, but hints of sun.
Slept in and did not wake up till nearly 9am, so just enjoying my morning tea and ginger biscuit.

Early lunch and then out to book club where we shall discuss Demon Copperhead, should be an interesting afternoon. Will have to get there on the bus, as my lift has yet again cried off due to work commitments. But we will have cake at some time!

Nothing else planned for today except finalise my Sainsbury's order for tomorrow. Oh, and ring the surgery to make an appointment for a medication review; there was a reminder in the bag when my prescription was delivered yesterday.

Sausage and mash for dinner tonight, an easy meal.

Take care all.

Have a pleasant break Pantglass
Good luck with your suitcase hunt Bonny
Enjoy your Strictly evening Susan. Try to resist getting up on the dance floor 💃

A late good morning from Durham. It’s heavily overcast and very windy. A day at home, as a friend is calling, but didn’t say when, but it’s a good excuse for more decluttering - at last, I can see the bottom of the monks bench, having sorted through 1000 old cards and ‘stuff’. I think I’ll just keep the few cards sent by the DGS.
My next William (big bill) will be the house insurance Rosie and I expect a serious hike, even with no claims.
Best wishes to all. X

Taichinan Wed 31-Jan-24 09:23:49

Good morning all. It's 7°, but we're in a Yellow Warning for wind here on the Angus coast, with gusts up to 61 mid morning. I'm sitting watching the tallest fir tree in the woods across the field bending over - I wonder if it will withstand the blast.
A lovely day weather-wise yesterday and a good tai chi class in spite of my brain being AWOL due to a poor night's sleep. I had a sort of nightmare at 4am which woke me - Prince William and King Charles were having a yelling match at each other as they ascended an escalator, Charles dropped dead when he got to the top and I thought "Well, I didn't want him to be King, but I never realised that William had such a temper!". What on earth was that about? Dreams can be so weird!
Friends popped in for a quick cuppa late afternoon and it was still light at 5pm with a gently pretty sunset. The calm before the storm I guess.
Corner I hope tai chi can do the trick for you and Mr C as regards balance - over time you certainly develop a "body self-righting instinct" (my terminology). There's been many a time I've been glad of that! So stick with it.
Have a good day everybody, achieving - if that's what you want - or better still, relaxing. Oh, and enjoy your trip away with your friends Pantglas x

Kalu Wed 31-Jan-24 09:22:44

Good morning from Glasgow. Another stormy day here, rain and winds of 23mph with gusts of 54mph is our forecast.

I am back in spring cleaning mode and putting aside what will go to charity. A collection of luggage we no longer use will be hauled out from the eaves and cleaned up for starters. Even if I could use it, I couldn’t carry it.

We have sent off a Moon Pig card to DD2 in Australia whose birthday it is tomorrow plus, I have set my phone alarm to go off when it is morning for her to wish her happy birthday. We will have a FaceTime catch up at some point during her day. 2 DDs in their late forties! Where has the time gone?

Best wishes to all for a good day, especially those suffering with troubled minds/illness. I hope the day is kind to you.
Stay safe if you are also in a stormy part of the country. Spring is just around the corner I’m told.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 31-Jan-24 09:16:39

Morning all from West Oxfordshire, I am still in bed! I woke at 6 am feeling rather nauseous and didn’t think I would be up to driving for an hour, in the rush hour to my stained glass course. I went back to sleep and was woken just now by a fake phone call.
I had better get up soon as if I don’t eat properly I’ll get a migraine. I also need to email the tutor,
OH is having both his knees x-rayed this afternoon.
I will probably rest on the sofa,
Have a good day.

GrannySomerset Wed 31-Jan-24 09:13:44

Local carpenter/joiner is here fitting a new door between the kitchen and the utility room so that it will take a cat flap (current door largely glass) - just hope the cat likes it here after all the expense. Have to be ready for her arrival on Saturday! Singing this afternoon if the job is finished in time, otherwise nothing particular in view, but doing nothing much has become a way of life, which is not a good thing.

Susan56 Wed 31-Jan-24 09:03:51

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s a chilly start.

Yesterday we booked a few days stay at the hotel where DD got married just outside Stafford. It is just a couple of miles from their house and it will be nice to spend time with them.Since DGS1 started school we don’t see them as much.He has already asked if they can join us for hotel breakfast!

Today will be spent waiting to go to Strictly tonight💃🏻Gale force winds forecast for Liverpool tonight so warm practical coat with hood over my new dress🙄

Hope today sees you feeling better Marydoll💐

Thoughts with Kalu, Urms and Baggs 💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

RosiesMaw Wed 31-Jan-24 09:02:25

Good morning from N Bucks where it is sunny after a cold and frosty night.
An email from LV tells me my house insurance is going up by £350 pa- an increase of 50%. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
They can whistle for that.
Unfortunately I am off to London followed by Birmingham on granny duties but first thing on Monday I start shopping around.
Wishing you all a pleasant day with no nasty surprises.

EkwaNimitee Wed 31-Jan-24 08:52:50

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but currently dry Carlisle where it is 6°C. I believe rain is due later but I'm having an inside day. Housework and admin this morning, fun stuff after lunch.

Nothing exciting in other words so I'll wish you all a pleasant day!

harrigran Wed 31-Jan-24 08:49:54

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
The street is noisy with workmen and a tractor, they appear to be digging up the car park. The school run are not happy as they can not park all over the stree
DS and GD1 are visiting this morning and taking me shopping and then we are going out for lunch. After lunch we are going to the museum and winter garden as it is too windy to be outside.
Have a good day everyone.

NannyJan53 Wed 31-Jan-24 08:45:11

Good morning from a very frosty Black Country, where it is white over!

Audiology appointment this morning for new moulds. Then pop to Merry Hill shopping centre which is nearby. Be rude not to!!

I popped into Iceland to buy one or two things yesterday, the cashier asked if I was over 60! So that made me feel less ancient! Over 60's get 10% off on Tuesdays.

Enjoy your trip Pantglas

hollysteers Wed 31-Jan-24 08:34:48

Good morning Mick and all from a dull 3°C northwest coast.
Music club went well yesterday and a new member turned up who sang very well, a good addition.
My son turned up later and is awaiting a delivery of a new lap top. I’m the postal depot here as I have a porch where things can be left, but he has to sign for this and I’m out most of the day.
My online grocery shop arrived last night and I’m glad I do it rarely, looking at some of the use by/best by dates🙄
Bookgroup meeting coming up and finishing the hardly liked book feels like homework.

Busy day today, but looking forward to it. Lunchtime recital then a meet up with coffee with friend and a ballet at local theatre this evening.

Hope your suitcase shop is fruitful Bonnybanko and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

Jaxjacky Wed 31-Jan-24 08:30:02

Morning from a cooler, grey S Hampshire, no beach walk yesterday, too cold, hopefully today.
But I did get out for a local walk and later wafted a duster about before the vacuum had an outing.
Enjoy your break Pantglas, we too have a carvery discount Monk and we’ll use it tonight.

brook2704 Wed 31-Jan-24 08:27:34

Good morning everyone from sunny Tenerife, we’ve still got a few more days here before heading back next week to the cold Inverness weather
Enjoy your trip pantglas a lovely way to spend your winnings - have fun!
We’ve had a couple of busy days out and about on the local buses exploring La Laguna and Santa Cruz, lots of interesting architecture and things to see but quite busy. I much prefer a slower pace of life these days so we’re taking it easy today and going down into Puerto de la Cruz for some shopping and people watching - we’ll find a nice cafe on the seafront to sit and watch the world go by.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 31-Jan-24 08:23:46

Good morning from a dull but dry Lyme Regis.

Fossil hunting didn’t realise any results, but I guess if it was that easy there would be any left to find, to many large rocks and boulders for me though so I sat on the sand with the dog and listened to the sound of hammering, it was a nice peaceful time there.
Off to take MzOops for her morning swim soon, I stand on shore fretting and time her, then flail my arms around so that she can see she has to get out. Then a coffee and something for her to eat then home, hot shower then breakfast, it’s exhausting and I’m not the one swimming.
Beach hut beckons for this afternoon. Then GS goes back to university.
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 31-Jan-24 08:15:46

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° with grey skies. It's quite breezy too. Pantglas enjoy your trip. Grannygravy I hope you can get a nap at some point. Ash did you fall back asleep?
Yesterday dgs1 had a good day at nursery and his appetite has returned. Dgs2 was such a sunny wee boy too. My uncle was discharged from hospital and given the all clear so he's resting in his holiday home in Spain.
Today is my quiet day. I love having a long lie (7.15) compared to the previous two days. I shall potter about the house and visit mum this afternoon. Some more clearing stuff out is needed and I have admin to sort but nothing urgent. A Tesco delivery is due tonight and I have chicken curry for dinner. What's not to like? Have a good day all

Alygran Wed 31-Jan-24 08:13:04

Good morning from North Yorkshire. A bright start and pretty sunrise.
My new front door looks lovely. I now need to sort the joiner to do the wood surround as soon as possible.
I’m off to the seaside today to meet a friend and have fish and chips. The steps up from the prom to the car park will be a challenge after a month of this dreadful cough.
Wishing you all a good day.

Marydoll Wed 31-Jan-24 08:11:33

Good morning all from a windy Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

Enjoy your trip Pants.
