It’s been a lovely day here in Inverness, I even took my coat off when gardening. I’m still digging out some overgrown stuff so it’s quite hard work. DGS has just been dropped off for his sleepover and is just outside with DH helping to tidy up 😇

Grandmabatty, I'm exhausted just reading your post! I'm so glad that 'normal service has resumed ' for you, I was getting worried. Sounds like you are firing on all cylinders again.

Thank you for your concern over my recent absence. We are OK, but we've been greatly shocked and upset by the sudden death last week of our lovely friend. She was the widow of DH's best pal, and the carer of their two adult daughters who have serious health issues. We used to holiday together when the children were all wee, happy times. Poor soul, she just collapsed in the street. We were driving to the hospital to see her when we got word that she had died, all on the space of a few hours. An aneurysm. We're trying to support the girls as best we can, they're in shock .... very difficult.

So I'm a bit out of the loop with Kitchen news just now, I'll pop in when I can.

I am feeling very sorry for myself, my back is so painful. Hopefully I will get an appointment with my preferred physiotherapist otherwise I will try the sports massage therapist at my gym.

No word regarding Mr Soop's "urgent" referral thus far. I understand that the NHS is under pressure. I simply need some idea of when he will start his treatment. When I do, I shall feel reassured.

Tomorrow we travel to Glasgow and stay overnight in a Premier Inn. Reason being, my 5th year post mastectomy appointment is at 9:10 on Tuesday. On two occasions we've had the appointment date changed. A few days ago, Mr S took a call to be advised that, although I shall see the specialist, I may not be able to have the mammogram at the same time. This will mean an additional journey to another Glasgow hospital at a later date. All very confusing. We are unable to cancel the hotel booking as we would lose our money.

We are hoping to meet with Baggs after the consultation. I only hope that I am not "forwarded" to a different hospital for the mammogram. I shall keep Baggs updated. Deep sigh.

When I return home, I very much hope to feel inspired to return to more frequent visits to chat with you lovely lot. Just recently, I've felt out of kilter. You deserve to feel uplifted when you visit our gathering place. Continue to support each other. That is what matters.

Equilibrium restored I enjoyed our granddaughters 18th bash this evening. We were the first to leave at 10pm, she didn't mind so all was well. Suspect she’ll have a headache come morning. A glass or two of wine topped up with paracetamol dulled discomfort wonderfully. It was good to see everyone enjoy themselves.

I have a plan about MRI feedback, OK a complaint. Will speak to PALS on Monday and unless advised differently will use the scanning organisations complaints procedure discovered buried on their site. All I hope is my experience was a one off,

I did a food shop at Aldi, changed the bedding, washed,dried and put it back on. Then polished and hoovered, cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen and washed floors. I looked out some Easter decorations too.
I feel virtuous! I'll go to The Range in the morning to get some more decorations. I have lots for autumn but not so many for this season. I had the rest of the chicken pie for dinner so tonight was easy.
Currently I'm watching The Godfather because I'm a big fan of Al Pacino and I'll probably have an early night. I hope everyone is well. I hope everything is ok with Grannmarie.

“Look forward now with hope” says my brave man. I truly do not know from where he draws his strength. He’s never in denial but he does gratefully acknowledge that the Christie is buying him time, to stay here - with us who love him very much.

I have managed to aggravate my dodgy back it’s extremely uncomfortable and stiff, hey ho hopefully it will ease over the next couple of days.

Perhaps I’m not so daft corner I would’ve walked away, having never had one and scared at the thought, that attitude would be the final straw.
The glorious sun of early morning settled to grey, again, now it’s raining, I’ve read most of the paper and watched sport. You can tell it’s warmer, ants in the flipping kitchen already, Nippon deployed.
I hope Grandmabatty is still on the up and Urms has a frisson of anticipation for her trip.

corner. Hope you slept ok after such an unpleasant experience. I do suspect that some of the tests/screenings we have become mundane to the operatives and they do not understand how the patient feels. I often think undergoing a mock test during training might help. Do give feedback.

corner, that's frankly terrifying! I'm so glad you knew how the procedure went. I pity patients who had no idea. But I think the worst of it is the apparent lack of patient care from the "operators". Nobody with an ounce of compassion would wish that kind of "treatment" on anyone.

Hot drinks, chips and later some chilled wine sound like very good recovery tactics.

Goodness corner what a dreadful ordeal, well done in getting through today which must have been so difficult. I think feedback is definitely required and hopefully they’ll take note. I wouldn’t dream of tut tutting about chips in McDonalds, I’d be the same and would probably have gone to the drive through too. Nothing wrong with chocolate and wine either 😀

Cornergran you really do deserve your wine and chocolate! I have had several breast MRI’ s where you have to lie on your front facing near the base of the machine. I am a bit claustrophobic and have problems with this. Eyes shut before I go in till I am out again and recite nursery rhymes maybe odd but it helps me!!

I’m steaming! The MRI was outsourced to a private organisation using a mobile trailer. I agreed to go there as there was an unhelpfully long wait for the hospital scanner. All I say is never again and thank goodness I’m familiar with the process.

Fortunately I’d travelled by car as there was no waiting space at all. Not mentioned in the appointment details. When I came out the next patient was waiting - in tears. I did my best to reassure her.

There was no explanation of the process, OK I didn’t need it, could be different for others. No offer of headphones, just ear plugs. The cage (which I hate) was needed for my head, no reassurance about that, just as well I’ve had it before and knew I survived! It’s very Silence of the Lambs. No talking to me during the process which was long as it was full spine and neck.

The two members of staff seemed to have no concern for patients. I could go on but you get the drift. Mr C said I was white as a sheet when I emerged, my neck was incredibly painful and I was dizzy after being hurried.

We repaired to McDonalds, close to hand, for a hot drink and some chips. Please don’t tut, I needed them! Equanimity restored a trip round a blessedly empty Waitrose and home. A glass of chilled white later.

I do think I need to give some feedback. I’m hoping for a questionnaire if not I’ll work out how and will certainly give some feedback to the referrer when he calls me when the outcome is known.

There, that feels better for a rant.

Sounds an excellent plan yia. We love Dorset. Had a few days in Poole last year to help Mr C’s recovery along. Hope to get back in the not too distant future.

We’ve an eighteenth birthday party to go to tomorrow. I should have brought those ear plugs home with me as there will be a DJ in residence. It will be good to see the family having fun, they’ll carry on for hours, old folk are likely to be home by 10 .

Hello kitchen people. What a beautiful picture Baggs!
We had a whole lamb delivered today. One of OH’s beekeeping friends has a farm so we bought one of his lambs. Most of it is now in the freezer. Of course it’s been butchered! We will try some of the chops tomorrow. OH is cooking trout tonight which he bought the other day from a trout farm.
I had a clear out of some of my books today. I hate doing it, but…
I hope that the Soops and others with worries, are ok. Urms should be planning her trip!😎

After two days in bed feeling sorry for myself, I'm beginning to feel human again. I looked after dgs2 this morning while dd had her hair done. She looks lovely. She made me a chicken, ham and leek pie for dinner so that's what I'll have later.
I intend to have a very quiet weekend. I'll dig out my Easter/spring decorations and give them an airing but that's all. A gentle hug for those who need it, especially Soop and GrandMattie

All set for the film crew here on Monday.We have decided to go to Dorset from Monday to Friday as it will hectic could be about 50 people in here at times! DH still coughing but it’s a bit better.🤞I now have some strong painkillers to keep me going so,I think it will do us both good to get a bit of sea air and try and chill for a few days while being paid for the use of our apartment.

Beautiful view Baggs. Just what I needed after being told my MRI will be an hour late. Ive been sent away with a form to complete. Wouldnt feel so disgruntled except someone phoned on Monday and asked identical questions to save time today. Relaying this what was I told? It’s procedure!!! Off to relax and breathe a bit now.
