Just home from a lovely enjoyable afternoon at the theatre - we didn’t have much on today, so we made a last-minute decision to get some tickets to see Jesus Christ Superstar at Eden Court in Inverness. What an enjoyable show and the music, singing and dancing was fantastic.
A quiet evening in now, I’ll join you in that tipple soop at 8:30 and hope you’re enjoying your 🍷 nannyG4
Take care all and have a lovely evening whatever you’re doing

Lots of rugby watching here, so I've kept myself busy in the garden. Beautuful day here in Kent . Also made some flower posies for Mothers Day at Church tomorrow... Time now for a well deserved glass of red 🍷....with much love to you lovely people.

I've completed all the domestic must-dos in record time. Reason being, I am rooting for Scotland as they play rugby in Rome.

It is half-time...I want to wish you all a pleasant weekend. As it is Saturday, I shall raise a glass of cheer to you lovely lot at 8:30 precisely.

Now for a quick wee and then I shall brew a nice cup of tea. smile moon

I’ll join you in that glass tonight Jax but you deserve it for your patience much more than I do - you’re coping much better than I ever could!

Jaxjacky Fri 08-Mar-24 17:36:11

Hi all, mixed medical news corner it’s easy to say don’t worry, doing so is a little harder, I’d take solace in the lack of immediacy.
What an adventurous lady Grannmarie well done her.
Your eye sounds good brook back into the exercise fray, sad about the cat though.
Stimulating for you llfl and a tidy garden to boot.
I’ve had a quieter day, I did, with MrJ hovering, venture to our local last night, not too busy, but I think yesterday activities have caught up today. I don’t like being so inactive, I’ve also gained an insight and respect for those who permanently struggle.
Glass of wine tonight 🥂your health.

Hello kitchen people. What a lovely photo Soop!
I’ve had an interesting day. After yesterday’s non-stop activity it was good to drive a few miles for an Arts Society Study Day. Three excellent lectures and a delicious lunch. The theme was the art of the City of London. The first lecture covered the stained glass windows of many of the churches; the second lecture was about modern and contemporary art of that area and finally we looked at paintings of Thames over the ages. The lecturer was enthusiastic and knew her stuff.
Now I’m back home and it’s good to see the garden looking neat and tidy. Our gardener will return in a few weeks to do some planting.
Have a good evening.

brook2704 Fri 08-Mar-24 16:56:19

What a lovely picture soop with happy smiling faces, thanks for sharing
Your DHs auntie sounds like a remarkable lady grannmarie I’d love to be able to do that sort of thing if I ever get to 88. Well done to her and hope she’s feeling much better soon.
A good day here, I went back to the eye clinic this morning to eventually get my stitches removed after my recent eye op. All went well and the surgeon seemed quite pleased but we will have to see how it goes from now on. I decided to get straight back to the gym, so went along to the Aqua Zumba class at lunchtime, I definitely got the feel good factor as it’s such a fun class with lots of laughter and I’d missed seeing my gym pals too
Unfortunately DD2s cat got runover yesterday and sadly is no longer with us - DGD is in floods of tears poor lamb and DGS quite sad and subdued. It’s such a shame as he was a lovely cat but they live near quite a busy road and he apparently just ran out into the road chasing a bird
Salmon and roasted veg for dinner later, one of our Friday night favourites so looking forward to that

gillgran Fri 08-Mar-24 14:32:32

Lovely photo soop, thank you for sharing with us. I guess that may have been for World Book Day.

Warm thoughts to you all. x

Grannmarie Fri 08-Mar-24 14:20:00

Gorgeous photo, Soop. What happy wee faces!

Grannmarie Fri 08-Mar-24 14:18:37

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. I'm just catching up with all your news, so many dear friends worrying about loved ones, and/or not feeling well themselves. I am in awe of how brave you are, coping with your difficulties. I won't mention names in case I miss someone, but I am thinking of you all, and I remember everyone in my prayers at Mass each morning. Hoping and praying for improvement for the sick, strength for those with mountains to climb, and comfort for the sad and bereaved. 🙏💕🕯💐

DH and I visited his only surviving auntie yesterday. She's been in hospital recently but is now home, being well supported by her family and nurses. I was sorry to see her looking quite frail but she was in great spirits. This is the lady who went on the Loch Lomond sea plane trip for her 88th birthday!

Housework and catching up today, I'm trying to get hold of my sister's decorator to give me a quote ...I may be some time.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday. TOYA. 🥰

soop Fri 08-Mar-24 12:50:16

Sharing a happy, smiley pic of two of our great grandchildren posing as Peppa Pig and the Joker. grin

cornergran Thu 07-Mar-24 22:37:02

Thanks brook. The joys of maturity for sure smile.

brook2704 Thu 07-Mar-24 21:47:12

Goodness corner sounds like you’ve been busy with medical things today. Good to get everything checked out though and hoping all the results are good 👍

cornergran Thu 07-Mar-24 21:29:09

Hello everyone. Your kindness and understanding has helped me move to a less emotional place. Thank you all

How lovely to have that get together to look forward to soop, I’m delighted for you. Seeing baggs will be a tonic for you both I’m sure. Neither of you are ever far from my thoughts.

Oh heck grandmab, not what you wanted. Hope you’re much more comfortable very soon. How are you both now blossoming? Hope you both have a good night. Don’t overdo the kitchen duties jax, much as I empathise with the need for normality go gently, please.

I’ve had a medical day today. The first appointment saw me referred for a full spine MRI, to see what’s going on in there. I’m warned to expect a long wait for an appointment. Lunch time had me being told after an eye test that my sight is excellent for someone of my age. Huh grin. She did find what she called an oddity behind my left eye, a referral has gone to the eye hospital. She was very reassuring, I’m trying not to be worried.

A quiet few days ahead. Next week sees two granddaughters with birthdays and the following Saturday our elder granddaughter who is turning 18 has a party. All far too active for us grin.

Sleep well everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Mar-24 18:01:32

(((Hugs))) Baggs you are travelling a road that nobody wants to be on 💐

Hope you feel better soon Grandmabatty we have the 9 yr old staying this evening GrandpaGravy will go and pick him up from his school disco soon. He has requested one of his favourite dinners (steak, chips & coleslaw)

Wishing you all a pleasant evening 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Thu 07-Mar-24 17:13:44

A tough journey Baggs in many ways.
I hope you’ve recovered Blossoming and MrB is feeling better.
Oh Grandmabatty that sounds horrid, inhalations and paracetamol.
I did some kitchen cleaning today, slowly and dinner is half made, MrJ is relieved of the pinny.

mrshat Thu 07-Mar-24 16:48:16

I have no words to offer those of you who are in pain, emotionally and/or physically. My thoughts and prayers are with you and my admiration knows no bounds. Take care flowers

brook2704 Thu 07-Mar-24 16:46:38

Sorry to hear you’re feeling bad grandmabatty hope it clears up soon

It’s been a lovely sunny day here in Inverness, we dropped DGD off at school and then I’ve been happy just pottering in the garden most of the day. DH is watching DGS play football this evening so we’ll be eating later tonight.

Soop It would be lovely for you to meet up with Baggs hope it works out for you both

Hoping Mr B is feeling ok again now Blossoming and you’ve recovered from your tests yesterday

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Mar-24 16:39:35

A very short visit to the kitchen from me. I seem to have developed sinusitis and have a sore face and head, as well as a head full of gunge. I'll love you and leave you today.

soop Thu 07-Mar-24 14:54:39

I had a telephone chat with our Baggs this morning. All things being equal, we plan to meet when I go to Vale of Leven.

My love and best wishes to you all. flowers smile moon

Blossoming Thu 07-Mar-24 11:27:07

Just a flying visit, I have been missing from the kitchen as MrB hasn’t been very well. He has a chronic condition that causes problems with his neck and shoulders and occasionally has worrying symptoms. He is feeling better now, but I always fear the worst.

I was at the hospital yesterday for my Botox follow up. The tests are quite intense and always leave me feeling dazed and confused. The good news is the Botox is doing its job. It seems likely it will need to be repeated every 6 months but I can cope with that.

I will try to catch up with your news later.

Just sending 💐 to all kitcheners with struggles.
Cornergran, my Dad died on Boxing day over 30 years ago. Christmas was such a trigger for our grief for so long. I remember thinking I was ok with it and then on the 20th anniversary I was in pieces. Harder to bear when a ‘special’ date stands as a poignant reminder, I think. Sending you a hug 🤗

NannyG4 Wed 06-Mar-24 22:25:02

Thinking of everyone with health and family issues. Life is so hard and brutal sometimes. Prayers for you all...... This is really such a caring thread...Love to you all.

annsixty Wed 06-Mar-24 21:20:19

Baggs I send my absolute respects to you .
You are dealing with something we cannot comprehend for ourselves.
We should never have to deal with losing a child, it is not the natural order of things.
I hope our messages to you bring a tiny bit of comfort in your grief.
