We’ve had another lovely day, we took the train and then a bus from Basel to Saas Fee where were all staying for the next few days. We’re in an apartment surrounded by mountains, there’s lots of snow still around and it’s quite cold too. We’ve had a typical Swiss dish of Raclette for dinner which was delicious and I’m ready for an early night.
What a lovely treat for Imogen Jax and very well deserved I’m sure
Goodness nannytopsy that’s a disappointment isn’t it and a double blow, hope your knee can manage ok whilst you get the dentist treatment sorted

I did a bit of housework today and OH hoovered. He went to a 🐝 social this afternoon so I watched one of my V&A lectures on the history of jewellery. We always have a proper pudding on Sunday (it’s a Feast Day) and for the past few months it’s been a steamed pudding, hot soufflé or a crumble. Now it’s spring so I made an old fashioned chocolate mousse. It’s setting in the fridge right now. OH was a bit surprised and wondered why I hadn’t made an apple crumble.

I had a pleasant day today. Breakfast with a friend and a blether of nearly three hours. Then some pottering about the house. Bedding washed and my favourite stuff put on, polishing done and bathroom and kitchen cleaned. I bought two kg of rhubarb to make jam so that'll probably happen tomorrow. A quiet night for me. ‘Evening All’.

Well we are stuffed! Full of sausages and fried onions on hot buttered toast. Food of the gods!

Being in Málaga was wonderful, just the topic I needed but oh, it’s lovely to be home with Himself. Huge grins and a big hugs last night.

We’ve been invited to a roast dinner tomorrow with the family through the park. It will be lovely to see L’il Miss (now 7y) and the Boy Wonder (11y) for a couple of hours. We are to pick up my stepfather (91y) en route. Seven of us, aged from great grandparent down to our family’s littlest in top juniors all sat around the dining table will gladden my heart. Such times are precious aren’t they?

Monday and Tuesdays see us back at the Christie for a few weeks. Then a scan. I’m always anxious as that date flaws near.

Himself said today regards the scan next month “we must look forward with hope. I feel well for now. The bodywork is good we just have to trust the chemo is working its magic and that it shows the inside is as good as the outside on this new treatment’.

So, with this fervent wish in my heart I’m going to love you and leave you all for a few weeks.

Jax apparently infections can spread to the joint during surgery, causing serious problems but I admit that I thought about keeping it secret.

I’m not going Blossoming just Imogen, who’s always wanted to go, with her Mum, who as a single parent does an amazing job with both children, they both deserve it, I’m proud of them all.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. We have been quite busy today, the weather has been good so I cracked on with the laundry while Mr.B tended to the pond. After waiting for a week for the NHS to check Mr. B is a real human being I have been able to set him up on the NHS app. I’m sure I didn’t have to jump through so many hoops when I set mine up some years ago, I guess it’s in response to past data breaches. It’s not simple to set up, but it’s easy to use once you’ve in. We now have access to all his test results and appointments. He has a cardiology appointment booked for July.

So glad you’ve been vindicated re your hip and leg pain Neine, hope it doesn’t take too long to get the necessary treatment. Hope the interview goes well tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy the Paris trip Jax, I have fond memories of my time working there.

Nannytopsy we have been going to a private dentist for years as there just weren’t any accepting NHS patients in this area. I don’t think the position has improved much since then. They’re a very good dentist and fortunately we can afford it. Lord knows how families manage.

If you hadn’t been to the dentist, had no dentist, the infection may not have been picked up Nannytopsy.

We are watching rugby - normal service is resumed! Routine dentist appointment threw up two teeth which he condemned - crowns and root fillings to be removed and replaced with implants. I am dreading it and the cost is astronomical. Even worse, there is a historic, dormant infection there, which means my TKR is cancelled until 6 weeks after the treatment. That is the worst of it, for me.
But if I couldn’t find the money for the dentistry, I would never get the knee replacement as there are no NHS dentists in Suffolk. Where is the NHS for those without money???

I’m relieved you’ve finally been taken seriously neine. Well done you. I’ll not take space to go into detail but I currently feel as if I’m fighting the entire NHS to get someone, anyone, to take my pain levels seriously.

Had to sit for a lot of the Tai Chi session today. Such a shame as standing is much more helpful. The spirit was willing, a shame about the body.

We had a nice relaxing break (even though DH is still coughing!!) and came back to every thing back in place and freshly painted walls.It all went well and now we can’t wait to see on T.V.

A quiet day, Tesco delivered everything ordered, my sister rang and token duster flicking was done. Our front grass needs cutting but the muscari and daisies look so pretty it will have to wait, the back is still too wet.
MrJ has gone to the pub, I am too comfy, we’ve got leftovers tonight, so I can just sit and enjoy a glass of 🥂.

Such sad news Ann. I have been to many funerals but the saddest was for a baby girl. Heartbreaking.
To the soops - hope things are sorted soon.
I’m just having a rest with the cats before getting on with the dinner. OH is on his
way back from his target shooting day. I did a bit of financial shilly-shallying today, did a small Waitrose shop, all my ironing and made a batch of ice cream. Housework has been moved to tomorrow.
Urms must be home by now after her Spanish adventure.

I've booked the puppy into the vets just after Easter as his testosterone hormone has definitely kicked in and nothing is safe from his attempts to mate...the 4 year old neutered female who is 4 times the size of him looked at him in utter amazement as he tried valiantly to mate with her back leg!!!!!
I finally saw the Orthopedic Consultant last Friday....and finally I am vindicated....there is a problem with the operated Hip/leg/back...which he says is complex and he is going to take it to the multi disciplinary team to see what can be done. Not an easy fix were his words. At least I know tI'm not going mad. We are at a 70th party tonight...I've got to make a quiche but I'm waiting for the painkillers to work first. On Sunday we are having a trial drive to Bristol... I'm working in the City Centre on Thursday but have only ever driven to Costco on the outskirts so DOH is going to drive so I can get my bearings. Tomorrow we have our interview on the first step to getting our previous marriages annulled..both of us are nervous but glad it is getting underway. I will let you know how it all goes. Wishing you all a peaceful weekend

annsixty Your post is heart wrenching. Dear wee soul's life is over before it had the time to shine. I am so sorry for everyone who is hurting. Their pain will be beyond words.

Just a quick update before Mr Soop and I continue re-arranging the sitting room. We both have new tartan covered chairs. Very Scottish. Room will appear larger now that the uncomfortable sofa no longer clutters it.

The Glasgow hospital (to which we travelled recently) phoned to ask me to return next week. The locum doctor has written to the Oncologist expressing his concerns that the drug I have taken for two years, and have been advised to take for a further three, may have caused my blood to thicken, resulting in the blood clot.

We may get to meet with Baggs again. We shall see whether or not she can spare the time.

Mr Soop still patiently awaiting his referral.

A dear lady who was known as Squiffy has sent us both a lovely card containing a very thoughtful message. Thank you dear Squiffy. Your kind gesture cheered us. We send all good wishes to you and your dear husband.

Good evening kitchen pals, we arrived safely in Edinburgh after a good journey down from Inverness. We’re staying at a Premier Inn which suits us fine, a comfy room and even a view of the castle. We’ve been a bit lazy and just bought a pizza in to share for our ‘bedroom picnic’ - living the life eh! Mind you we need to save a bit of money whilst we can as eating out in Switzerland is ridiculously expensive - good job we don’t go that often but it’s lovely to treat DS when we can

Until 5 minutes ago I was still stropping about the doors. Calm restored. A text message to tell me there was unexpected space in the morning and could they come at 8. Oh yes, 6am if you need to!! It’s been an unexpectedly good day here. Worked out how to get the top boxes back on the wardrobes without injuring ourselves. Everything back in its place. And breathe. Until Monday when we need to clear small things and bits of furniture from the conservatory ready for work in there on Tuesday. Madness, pure madness.

Time for feet up and chilling with the tv. Not sure what’s on but I do like something in the background for my evening inspection of my eyelids .

A bitty day, cleaned the kitchen, which means potatoes have just boiled over on the clean hob. Chasing a prescription down, a certain drug seems to be in short supply, I have an iou from the pharmacy, not much help really, they had one pack of three.
Imogen had a stunning parents evening, but she pushes herself so hard, her mum and I are planning a post GCSE treat.
I hope Urms has had the best last day and brook is in Edinburgh ready for tomorrow..
