I’m thinking of buying one of their cross body bags. Does anyone have any experience of the brand and are they any good? They seem to be fairly expensive considering what they are made out of. I’m trying to find out where they are manufactured - information that seems to be missing from their website (and even M&S’s website).

I use a Spirit bag all the time. They look very like Kipling bags, but cost less. I bought mine at a local shop, but Amazon sell them.

I've got the blue flowery ''GABBIE S'', £61.60 well spent. It's comfy and easy to wear!

Kipling are excellent. Have you looked at Roca as they too are excellent and sturdy and made in lovely colours.

I’ve been using them for years you can throw in washing machine when get dirty i used to buy all brand new now i buy a lot off eBay they are so light and you will be surprised how much you can sort in them. I even bought the baby bags for daughters inlaws when having grandchildren and got them hooked on them too for how much they could get in them plus being waterproof helps too

I love Kipling Bags and have several plus a couple of weekend/small suitcases and a hold-all. They are really well made and last. I also have some of their purses, colour coordinated with some of the bags, in different sizes and styles.
TK Maxx quite often has them reduced, or some garden centres sell them.

I bought one very plain small
one after a friend recommended them.Surprisingly it fitted my iPad mini and lots of other stuff..I have a large cross body one which I got on saleAll my family hate it because it has a horrible pattern and they are snobby about Kipling..It fits an amazing amount and can be washed I have so far been unable to find an alternative
that would tick all these boxes- so it stays and is now known as Granny’s bag.

Oh no the monkeys are collectible don’t toss them away I forgot got my first one from QVC about 20yrs still looks like new lol I’ve got about 100 🤣

They are very well made and do last for a very long time. Not fussed about the monkey, personally.
I have one that is 20 years old that I still use when I'm travelling. Very practical and light weight and washable. Most are also vegetarian and vegan friendly.
A good investment.

I love Kipling bags. They are roomy, have lots of different pockets and are lightweight. I now wear the crossbody versions so my hands are free.

It's worth looking up on the Kipling Outlet too as you get some lovely bags much cheaper. If you sign up to their newsletter, you get first dibs on the sale stuff too!

I bought 2, some years ago (at different times) from market traders. The make is Jouney. Much cheaper than Kipling but in every way just as good, quality, design, durability etc.

GraceOMalley Tue 06-Feb-24 12:10:44

Apparently they are designed in Belgium but manufactured in China.

I bought one of their cross body bags in a sale. I use it for travelling and it's very light. The only problem I find with it is, it has so many zipped pockets, which are of course very useful, but I forget where everything is. I've thought of attaching labels to the pockets to remind me.

I have a couple of bags. They are washable. One of them had broken zipper so replaced with child's anorak zip and it's better than new!

Ktsmum Tue 06-Feb-24 13:00:34

Yes expensive but v. well made and very durable, worth the extra expense

Back in the 90s I bought a cross body bag from BREE. I still use it daily. Love it. Wonderful leather, lots of pockets. They are German you can buy online. They're just brilliant.

Expensive, yes but they are good quality.

Rusume Tue 06-Feb-24 13:18:29

My everyday bag is a Kipling one bought right at the beginning of Lockdown and I love it. Loads of different compartments and mine has also got a narrow internal strap you can attach your keys to if, like me, you’re always fiddling about for them! I’ve also got some Kipling luggage. It’s not cheap but thoroughly recommend the brand.

Anniel Tue 06-Feb-24 13:54:30

Another who has used Kipling bags for many years. They will outlive me!

I have 2 kipling bags from charity shops both cost 5 pounds each .I love them nice and light ad roomy

ordinarygirl Tue 06-Feb-24 14:09:19

there are other nylon bags in similar designs which are cheaper but i agree that you need to look at QVC or TKMaxx

I like lots of pockets - keys, bus pass etc and the zips

OldFrill Tue 06-Feb-24 14:10:05

If you're bothered beware of fakes. At least don't pay full price for them.

TiggyW Tue 06-Feb-24 14:31:26

I love Kipling bags, they’re very practical, but I rarely pay full price for them. I buy them on eBay and Vinted or at TK Maxx. I’ve also had a cheaper Pavers copy from Boundary Mill. There are lots of cheaper copies online too.
I love the bags because they’re lightweight, if you have back problems, and they have numerous pockets, plus a key clip. The zips are very sturdy. I always machine wash my bags. I have one rucksack-style bag which is ideal for holidays. They’re not meant to be dressy - I use other handbags for special occasions.
I would recommend buying a used bag on eBay or Vinted first, before buying a new one, to see if you like it. I suppose it depends on your personal budget! 😎

I have used Kipling handbags for years and had one in use for over 11 years and still going strong. They are light so help with my arthritic shoulder, neck, hip and back. I can always find what I am looking for as they have different zips and compartments. I love them and, despite paying a fortune for Healthy back bags, etc., I always come back to my Kipling bag. Well worth the money.

I bought 2 kipling bags on a cruise at Vietnam. The cruise staff told us they were made there and it was a genuine Kipling outlet shop with cheap prices. We saw a huge open lorry arriving at the shop just by the end of the pier. It was fully loaded with bags for cruise passengers. About 15+ years ago
