Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside at the moment in brackley .
Today , will be spent indoors and do some laundry as well, plus cook my lunch and watch TV .
Health wise seems to be improving as I get more mobile as to routines .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry Bristol. The wind is getting up, but it’s fairly mild.
Thank you for your good wishes for my back, they seem to have worked as, although uncomfortable in the morning, the pain eased by the afternoon and I was shifting furniture, carrying boxes of books hither and thither…. I have unpacked all but 4 of my boxes, which I have decreed as “too difficult” to unpack, mainly because I have no idea what to do with the contents!
The church coffee, where I was serving, went well and the lemon drizzle cake was well received. I made a delicious Greek salad for dinner.
This evening, I might go to DD’s town church where they have lights, part of the “Bristol light festival”.
I hope today is kind to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and grandMattie from a blowy north Wales where I shall have hair like worzel gummidge when I venture for the Sunday papers shortly 😉

Spent yesterday glued to the 🏉 and obviously disappointed with 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 who didn’t turn up til half way through….must do better! Must say Alun Wyn Jones looked rather dashing with his pitch side commentary half time….🫠

A peaceful Sunday to all x

Morning all West Oxfordshire. I’ll get up in a couple of hours.
Church this morning at one of the bigger churches in the Benefice.
I’m cooking beef bourguignon for dinner.
Otherwise, a quiet day. Daughter is off on holiday to Malaysia today. OH visited there on business a few times so has given her a few tips.
Have a good and peaceful Sunday everyone.

Good morning from Glasgow. We are still on this never ending cycle of rain and high winds.

A definite stay home cosy and warm day foutering about, finishing touches to some tasks I started yesterday.
DD1 and GD2 will visit in the afternoon after GDs riding lesson in the indoor school.

Ha e the best day possible all.

RosesandLilac Sun 04-Feb-24 06:37:58

Good morning from windy south Glos, at least it’s a mild 10° apparently.
Yesterday I sorted out my drawers and two thirds of the fitted wardrobes, I will finish them this morning. Three black bags nearly full for the charity shop so far.
I have an early grocery delivery this morning, DH will walk the dog and I will do a roast for dinner.
I rather fancy a Greek salad grandMattie , I will make one for tomorrow’s lunch 😋
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good morning from Durham. A dry windy day on the cards, feeling colder than the temperature.
Up and about as I’m going to watch DGS1s swimming lesson.
After that I’ll see DD2 who is a bit down in the dumps.
Best wishes to all. X

karmalady Sun 04-Feb-24 06:43:40

Good morning, uninspiring and dull weather today in s somerset and I can hear the wind

I made a couple of layering tops yesterday, cream rib so they will go with lots of my things and I will finally get to wear my dungarees and pinafore. I will start a warm hoodie today, part of the layering effect. It is cut out and ready.

Archers and radio while I sew, always nice on a sunday.

Have a good day

Good morning all from a still too dark to tell North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely day shopping with DGS4 yesterday. Love him to pieces.

Today, we have to nip next door to turn the heating up and then back down as they have a second viewing. I have to ring my late friend's husband, my sister in law is phoning (she has dementia so we have to use my Leicestershire to facilitate contact) and ji have to make a sausage casserole for dinner.

Have the best day possible everyone.

RosiesMaw Sun 04-Feb-24 07:00:15

Good morning from Moseley where I think we had rain in the night.
Stage 2 of my granny duties accomplished- an overnighter while D & SIL went to a friend's 50th in Beverley. They came back during the night though so I don't have the responsibility of organising GS2 for football training at 9, GS1 for his big rugby tournament at 10 and GD for Gymnastics. In fact I will be back on the M6 around 10 on my way back to MK where I plan to leave the car at the station and get a train to London.
We enjoyed the Six Nations yesterday despite Scotland so very nearly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Italy also gave England a wake
up call. Its hard on the nerves sometimes!
Wishing you all a peaceful and pleasant Sunday with special thoughts to those in pain or distress.

Good morning everyone, it is my 81st birthday today and I am being taken out for the day by our eldest son. Our youngest son is on holiday so he took me out last week.

I am bright eyed and bushy tailed, no aches and pains, no serious illness and the illness I do have is manageable and doesn't cause many problems. I consider myself a lucky woman but I just wish my husband was still alive to put his arms around me and wish me happy birthday.

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 04-Feb-24 07:22:19

Good morning from a dry Co Durham.
Karmalady I usually join you with The Archers but today I’m going to the hairdressers at 10 am to have my grey covered. My hairdresser has been ill for two weeks and will probably be away for a few weeks. It’s a small two stylist salon and the other stylist is doing extra hours to try and make sure their clients get their hair done. I’ll catch The Archers later 😀
After a week of back pain I’m feeling easier, I sympathise with you grandMattie.
Happy Birthday, TurtleDove 💐.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible. Thoughts as always with those carrying heavy burdens.

RosiesMaw Sun 04-Feb-24 07:23:48

Sending love on your birthday TurtleDove - yes these days, especially birthdays are particularly hard when he's gone aren't they? thanksflowers

DanniRae Sun 04-Feb-24 07:30:51

Good morning from a mild Colchester where there's been overnight rain. A high of 14° today with some sunshine.
We are not needed for football or rugby duty today and so will have a quiet Sunday with a roast pork dinner later.

Happy birthday Turtledove and love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s still raining.

We had a fairly productive day yesterday before rugby took over. DH spent some time in garage and after two trips to the coup we actually have some shelf space. A couple of things I put up on our very local Facebook found new homes within an hour - result!
Also a very deep cupboard in our bedroom which had somehow untidied itself was whipped back into shape and I now have a couple of bags of assorted stuff ready to donate.

Mass this morning followed by lunch out then a supermarket sweep and that’s all that’s planned for the day.

Happy Birthday TurtleDove.

Have the best day possible

Greyduster Sun 04-Feb-24 07:50:28

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire where it is only just getting light. Yesterday, I did a food shop, cleaned my oven (that wasn’t on the agenda, but was hanging over me), spent some time in the garden tidying and planted up a couple of pots with tete a tete daffodils and polyanthus. Very cheerful. DD and the menfolk will come over today for Sunday lunch. DS stayed overnight with his cousin yesterday after a late football match so he may pop in on his way home to York.
Happy Birthday TurtleDove🎂.
Have the best day you can folks.

Marydoll Sun 04-Feb-24 07:51:37

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where its 8 °C.

Happy birthday, Turtle Dove and welcome to this thread.

I slept for a good part of yesterday, which unfortunately meant DH put off DS, DIL and Babydoll, who were planning to visit.
I'm missing her cuddles.
I think I may have worked out why I feel so ill. My symptoms are all of the side effects of the shingles vaccine, which I got on Tuesday. Shades of Astra Zenec! The same thing happens every time I have a vaccination, I hadn't been feeling too great anyway, but was determined to have it regardless. I am a fool!
So another gentle day is on the cards for me.

Karma, I am in awe of your sewing skills, you are a very talented lady.

Lots of busyness around. Enjoy your day folks and best wishes for all, who are struggling.

NannyJan53 Sun 04-Feb-24 07:53:27

Good morning from a dull but dry Black Country.

Yesterday was mainly housework, and sorting out the loft. MrJ put some boarding down up there.

Zumba at the gym this morning, then a walk to the park with a friend.

Happy birthday TurtleDove

Gingster Sun 04-Feb-24 08:06:24

Good morning all and it’s drizzling here in Essex.

Dgd1 had an eventful journey home from southampton yesterday dealing with train disruptions but arrived at teatime when I had a warming sausage and mash waiting for her. We had a pleasant evening chatting and watching TV. She stayed the night and will go back to her dads this evening.

Today we have most of the family here for buffet lunch which will be lovely.

Take care and enjoy the day , as best you can. 🌷

Liberty Sun 04-Feb-24 08:14:20

Good morning all from a dull and dark Suffolk where the gloom for DH has just increased after the latest news on the radio of the latest cricket score of the test match in India!

We have DS and his tribe including their delightful but very active puppy coming for lunch so it will be a busy time. Hopefully the weather will stay dry and the children, aged 17,13 and 10,or at least a couple of them, will take the dogs for a walk.

I hope those with celebrations today and those feeling under the weather less poorly and stressed.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 04-Feb-24 08:18:53

Morning all 👋

Yes it’s drizzling and grey here. The teenage GS’s are asleep 😴 At one point yesterday we had six GC here at the same time, lively to see the cousins happy together 🩷💙

We will take the teens home later this afternoon, and hopefully stop for a late Sunday Roast at a local restaurant on the way home.

Happy Birthday Turtledove 🎂

Enjoy your day folks 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Sun 04-Feb-24 08:18:53

Good morning everyone from Tenerife, the weathers gorgeous and I’m making the most of it before we return home on Tuesday
A very Happy Birthday Turtledove enjoy your special day with your son hope you can share fond memories of your late DH
We’re off out to find some croissants somewhere soon and a coffee in the sunshine. There’s a washing machine here in the apartment so I’m going to wash my summer clothes before I get home so I can just put them all away, they won’t be needed in Inverness for a while!
Marydoll hope those side effects wear off and you get some special cuddles soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐
