Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet and windy again. Turtledove a very happy birthday to you. Have a lovely time with your ds. GrandMattie lemon drizzle is a form family favourite here. Marydoll I hope those side effects subside toot sweet as they say. 😂 I'm missing Ash this morning but I think she was going to church early to play the organ.
Yesterday was fairly busy. Housework, washing and food shopping all done in the morning. Then I cleared the pavement of branches and twigs and the drains too. It looks much tidier now so my halo is shining.
Today I'll -finally- get round to ironing. It isn't a lot but I've put it off for ages. I'll make lentil soup too and stick a gammon joint in the oven. I might make a cake. Later I'll definitely visit mum. Have a good day all

The new cat, Olive, was nowhere to be seen when I reported for breakfast duty in the kitchen but she appeared when I opened a very expensive pouch of cat food. No idea where she was hiding. Just need her to use her litter tray, but she is friendly and I hope will soon settle. Church in our own village this morning but nothing else planned apart from the Sunday paper.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey, rainy and windy Carlisle where it is definitely an inside day.
Yesterday I just went out for a stroll through the park to get the papers from the local store. I haven't been in the park since the last big storms, two big trees had come down, one of them into the big pond so I guess something will have to be done about it.
The rest of the day was just spent pottering and reading.
I am fed up this morning as my kidney infection has struck again and I've just finished one lot of antibiotics. It will be back to the surgery again. I see a different face every time--nurse, nurse practitioner, and sometimes the actual doc, they all have a different take and seemingly not enough time to read my ever lengthening notes on the subject. Well, moan over, I'm going to dig out my livelier CD's to play as Classic FM is the usual Sunday dirge.

My daughter came yesterday to collect her various parcels we’d taken in for her this past week, she was ‘delicate’ after her Friday night out.
🏉 occupied the afternoon, as you say Pantglas Wales turned up too late, England had a shock, Ireland look game on.
My Netflix account was hijacked early evening, money taken from my account, so calls to my bank and Nf eventually sorted it.
A walk today, slow cooker gammon in cider for dinner.

Good morning from a dry - that makes a change - Sefton. Still dull though.
Had a lovely afternoon tea yesterday with my DiL & GD1 (aged5). She behaved beautifully - in fact we all did. There was no squabbling over the cakes, just a bit of bartering. GD was very taken with the cake that looked like a dippy egg complete with 'soldier'. It was very busy with lots of celebrations taking place.
Meeting younger son & family at the swimming pool later this morning. OH will 'swim' with DS2 & GD ((4) & I will join DiL for coffee & a catch up. Off to to the pub this evening for 'Sunday lunch'.

Tried the car yesterday but thought better of it and travelled by bus. To top it off I couldn’t find my bus pass so £5.50 for a ticket😳. I have a bad feeling about the car.

A quiet day today so I’ll get into this month’s Book Club choice which I’ve been putting off, it’s very descriptive which is a challenge to my busy/unfocused brain. It will be good for me!

Yesterdays scone was abandoned in favour of lunch in our little garden centre. Excellent as usual. Two hours spent listening to our distraught goddaughter was exhausting, a quiet evening followed with my Saturday glass of chilled white

Good morning Mick and all. I feel the sunny Angus coast beckoning but at the moment I'm in cloudy south Perthshire. DD and I thoroughly enjoyed our boozy afternoon tea (with a cocktail for each tier on the stand 😁) in Edinburgh yesterday. The cocktails were certainly a lovely addition to the feast! We also did a trawl round Harvey Nick's for the oooh aaaah experience. Does anyone really pay those prices?! And that, I think, brings DD to the end of her various celebrations of her 50th birthday of 7th January.
Hello and happy birthday Turtle dove. Have a lovely meal with your son. I'm 18 months ahead of you on the road of life and like you am so grateful for good health and fitness - and the want of DH's 🫂.
Poor you Marydoll - but at least you know that this too shall pass.
We stopped at 'your' station yesterday on our way to and from Edinburgh Grandmabatty and gave you a wave. I must say that pavement outside your house looks so neat and tidy 😉. You must feel good about that!

I’ve been up for ages and have been getting my bedroom back to being habitable after the rather prolonged decorating saga.
It does look better and is so tidy I don’t want to clutter it up again.

I shall wander round the corner to Mass in a bit. We have a lovely modern sanctuary literally a few steps away from my home so it couldn’t be more convenient.

A later good morning from me in a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Slept in till gone 9am. Still, no rush, I have nowhere to be today apart from home, so no matter.

Happy birthday 🎂 Turtledove, my sentiments entirely re missing DH on special days.

I seem to have sorted out my water leak - I found a tap running in the downstairs cloakroom; goodness knows how I didn't hear or find it sooner. DS came down anyway, and we checked the water meter (as recommended by Anglian water), by taking a reading, not using any water for an hour, then reading it again; it remained the same, so no leak.

After that I got the bus to the shops, returned my top to Next, had a bite to eat in Sainsbury's, and did a top-up shop. Which meant unfortunately I missed the England rugby match {had thought it was on later). A narrow win for England; I gather my Northampton Saints boys played well.

A quiet day in reading the papers and the 4th volume of the Cazalet Chronicles. Also some tv to catch up on; I have lots of films recorded on my tv box.
Beef stroganoff for dinner tonight.

Yesterday I went shopping and managed to set off the exit alarm and get a trolley wheel locked before I’d even put anything in my trolley 🤨the assistant came to unlock my wheel. Then this morning I realised I’d underpaid a bill by 16p.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get out into the garden later.

BlueSapphire - there is a tv series of The Cazalets (you may already know this so ignore!)from way back with Hugh Bonneville as Hugh & Lesley Manville as Villy & other vaguely familiar faces. I'm sure you'd be able to find it on one the many channels/ streaming services if you are able to access them. I watched it (again) a couple of years ago.

A very late good morning from a windy NE.
Sister and BIL visited yesterday afternoon and then I spent the evening cooking in preparation for today's dinner.
DS, DIL and GD2 are coming at lunchtime and we are going to a piano recital at The Glasshouse, formerly The Sage.
DD and SIL are back in Brussels after a week in Florida, DD was working but they did manage to visit The Kennedy space centre when the plane landed in Frankfurt they heard their flight to Brussels was cancelled, managed to get seats on a one 8 hours later. Thankfully the demonstrations seemed to have dispersed in the city and journey from airport was uneventful.

Sunday lunch will be put back as I was late rising.
DH is now communicating after all the Rugby yesterday.
I'm looking forward to a FaceTime call from DD and GD which always cheers me up .DD went to Stratford last night alone as no one else wanted to see an all-female cast of' The Merchant of Venice.' I wish we just lived a bit nearer.
