I am up super early. Not quite sure why.
I am going away for a few days sometime soonish. Need to do a bit more packing.

Good morning from a cooler Bristol. We are forecast heavy rain and much lower temperatures. Although I like winter, I always find February very dreary.
I found myself very busy yesterday. Quite early , a neighbour called me asking if I could get her some lemons. She sounded dreadful, exhausted with coughing and very sniffly. Of course I agreed. A bit later, I suggested that I made her some “Jewish penicillin”, so went to the village a third time to get some chicken and vegetables. The soup was delicious; she loved it. She texted me In the early evening to say that she was feeling better, coughing less…. Job done, I hope. I’ll call later to see how she is and if she needs anything.
I finished my last batches of marmalade for the year, just need to wash the jars and label them.
Nothing much today. Must do my Spanish homework.

Good morning from wet s somerset, going to be dull and cool today

Yesterday was very zen. I did three one hour slow sewing sessions and my complicated lovely hoodie is almost finished.

I hear that we are losing one of our two bus services, a lifeline for people. I don`t know how on earth they will get to the main hospital in future, we don`t have taxis here. Taunton is going to be badly affected, no-one along that bus route will be able to get to Taunton. That plus council services being decimated, it is dire for many in my county

On an uplift, I am going to make currant buns and a fruit loaf today and will finish my hoodie

Yesterdays decorating at DD’s was postponed until today as they hadn’t finished all the preparation.I am meeting a friend in the coffee shop in DD’s village and then on the school run this afternoon.DH will be decorating all day.

I can understand your concern regarding the buses, karmalady. Any reduction in services is bad news for many people and the environment, potentially!

This morning I have to attend Newton Abbot Hospital for a brain scan (MRI), following the field of vision test causing concern. I am more worried about the logistics of getting there than the actual procedure. I’m coming round to DH’s idea of a taxi there then buses home.

Good morning from a rainy Cornwall. Yesterday an unexpected visit from my arty daughter-in-law who went home with my wicker chair, which leaves a nice gap for my new chair delivery on Saturday. An invitation to spend Easter with my eldest son and his family in a mobile home near Padstow, first holiday break in a long time for me, so I'm chuffed.

Today a bus ride to another town for the library craft group where we're doing something with patchwork.

The photo is of two opportunistic gulls who station themselves every day at our local taxi rank and do very well for snacks.

Good morning, ‘tis a wet Wednesday morning here in south Glos. Off to the vets this morning for the dog’s six monthly check up, she’s in fine fettle so I don’t expect anything untoward to be found.
I will drop some stuff off at the charity shop and go to the greengrocer for fresh vegetables.
I will put a chicken in the slow cooker for lunch, I quite fancy making chicken soup tomorrow.

Good morning from Oxfordshire, we were forecast overnight rain, but too early for me to get up and look.

Chap coming out this morning to quote for the new oil tank, the regulations have changed and it’s possible that it might have to go somewhere else as we can’t move the buildings that are possibly too close to it. More expense.

Hope your scan goes ok Ash MRIs are noisy things but apart from that nothing to worry about, I find that getting to the hospital is more stressful, with MrOops taking me very early so that we can queue for a parking space, our nearest bus stop is 4 miles away so a bus isn’t an option and it’s over £60 for a one way taxi trip.

Good morning all from a dry north Wales (and so it should be after yesterday’s biblical deluge ☔️🌊) where I’m hoping to get a wash on the line later.

I’m joining the ranks of medical appointments on this thread accompanying my dad for another scan later, in spite of his protests that he’s happy to go alone….he’s deaf as a post, won’t get hearing aids and mishears/makes up what they tell him!🤬

I’m back at another hospital tomorrow with Mr PG to remove dressing etc and doing my darnedest to stay positive 😊like so many of you on here do with different problems but gosh, it’s not been brilliant so far - must try harder!🫡

Good morning from Colchester where we've had overnight rain. The temperature has dropped after yesterday's mild but windy day. No rain in today's forecast.

Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre as usual.

Another insulation surveyor is visiting this afternoon. He has to send in a report to apply for a grant towards upping the energy efficiency of our house.

Good morning from a wet W Kent. A trip to Bluewater today to choose a second pair of glasses and pick up a couple of items.
Karmalady you have bought back memories of long ago. My mums best friend used to holiday in Taunton in the 1960s, she was considered a spinster lady in those days. Each day she would go out on a bus trip and she got talking to the driver. This went on over a couple of years and eventually they got married and he moved to where she lived. They were chalk and cheese but it was a very happy marriage.

Yesterday dgs1 went to nursery and was full of energy, however the phonecall came just after lunchtime to pick him up. Debilitating headache again. It's difficult to see a wee one in such distress. Dd got a doctor's appointment and by the time it came, he had recovered. Sod's law. The doctor thinks he has developed migraines as a result of the viruses he had. He reckons they will disappear within a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed because dgs1 is very much affected by them. Both boys had a mad half hour or so and were dancing and jumping around to 'Donald, where's your troosers ' on Alexa. It made me laugh.
Today I'll tidy up the mayhem I was too tired to do last night. Then I'll visit my friend's partner for coffee then mum later. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone, we’re back in Edinburgh after a good uneventful journey yesterday. It looks cold outside but the hotel bedroom is very warm. Because the flight arrived in about 11pm at Edinburgh we were through the airport in super fast time, no waiting at border control or the baggage area and in the hotel by 11.30 ish. We’ve just got the final leg of our journey home to Inverness this morning and I’ll wave to our Scottish grans on the way past

Good morning from a dry, but cold Durham. I had an interesting chat with a Council official yesterday afternoon. He thinks a health condition I have may qualify me for a free boiler - I’ve signed up to take it further.
The decluttering is dragging on, so I’m taking a break today, but have various destinations planned to donate items and of course, a lot for the bins.

Morning Mick, morning All. A dry and calm start to our corner of Somerset. Rain in the forecast.

Yesterday was good after Mr C and a neighbour recovered from me scaring them slipping off the edge of the path to the car. I took a tumble, they hauled me up, no major damage done although there are some spectacular bruises this morning. After checking for blood on my knees, there wasn’t any, I drove to an undercover shopping centre where we enjoyed a wander, found a new sheet and Easter gifts for the Tornado before a long sit down with a delicious afternoon tea.

Agree with others travelling to hospitals can be far more stressful than any consultation or procedure. Good luck today ash, I always feel woozy for a few minutes post MRI so be careful afterwards just in case. Thoughts also with mr and mrs pantglas and anyone else with medical concerns.

Hope those migraines pass soon for your grandson grandmab, poor lad. I’m sure your neighbour was more than grateful grandmattie. Bus services are disappearing here too karmalady. Infuriating.

Best get on. Some dust removal and then back to sorting those cards.

Good morning from a wet and no doubt muddy Suffolk.

The dog walks have been so much more pleasant on the dry days for the last week or so. It is good to see the snowdrops now at their best I think and this seems to be a better year than last. I read something yesterday that centuries ago they were planted in or near churchyards as they were believed to sanctify the souls of the departed. Our garden adjoins our churchyard and as well as huge patches all over, the floor of the wooded dell is covered.

Off to Lowestoft for my annual eye test this morning so I shall pop into M&S whilst there for a few treats.

We spent a lovely time with Babydoll yesterday. She was just about standing up on her own, but hadn't quite made it. Last night we received a video, she is a determined wee soul and had eventually succeeded.
The icing on the cake happened just after we got home. Sitting in the conservatory, I thought I heard DH talking to someone, he said I was imagining it.
The next thing I looked up and Dollie was standing beside me! 💕 She had crawled along the floor in her school uniform, thank goodness the floor was clean to surprise me. 😂
What an unexpected surprise. I was given a detailed report ( and opinion) on every single minute of her day.
A perfect tonic. 😍

Hairdresser is on the agenda today. I desperately need my hair tidied up, but haven't been well enough to go. I was about to take the scissors to it yesterday!
The only other task is to make a pot of Scotch broth. My appetite is poor and my stomach fragile, but I have a hankering for soup.

Good luck with all the appointments today. GM, I hope your grandson perks up. DS2 was afflicted by debilitating migraines all through his childhood, they were related to his multiple allergies.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. There’s a light frost in South Yorkshire this morning and we’re set to have a dry day. It rained all day yesterday. I agree with the curative powers of chicken broth; it works for me. I made a batch on Monday from the remains of Sunday’s chicken and put some in the freezer. Today is writers group at the library. I shall do some shopping while I’m out, looking for some bits and pieces to decorate a cake for GS’s birthday on Sunday.
