Good Morning Monday 12th February 2024

Good morning/afternoon from a sunny Montgomery in Mid Wales. Had a wonderful day at Hawkstone Park and Follies near Wem, yesterday. A huge circular walk around towers, follies, caves and stunning views across Shropshire countryside. SO many steps though. So far today I've cleaned out my skip of a car. Currently doing a parrot jigsaw puzzle and this afternoon I'm taking my young friend/adopted niece to the cinema to see Wonka. All this is, mostly, to avoid packing for a house move! Firstly, condolences to Baggs, such sad sad news.

Enjoyed a Sunday roast with DD in town yesterday at revamped hotel, looking nice and food good but I had to visit the loo and it could have been hotter, my fault…
Then a little shopping in TKMaxx. I’m annoyed that I cannot find my large blue and white china basin to plant in, hunted high and low and so far St.Anthony has not helped.

Washing out in the sun and DS arrives later.

Good morning all from a beautiful morning on the Angus coast where the sun is shining on the snowy hills.
A lovely time was had by all at our tai chi Chinese Banquet last night - lots of lovely food and chat. And then I had nine hours' (!!!) sleep. Not unbroken - that seems to be a thing of the past - but only woke up twice. Obviously Chinese banquets are the cure for insomnia 😉
Baggs I can find no useful or comforting words for the loss of your dear, dear daughter. Sending you love and the hope that in time you will enjoy the comfort of memories.
Today I must make use of all that energy produced by a good night's sleep and prepare DGD3's favourite lunch of curried cream of sweetcorn soup, followed by chocolate meringue pudding. This will require a quick shop first, so I must be off.

Good morning from the NE where it is brightening after a miserable weekend.
I had a quiet day yesterday, cleared up some paperwork in the study then caught up with TV while doing crosswords.
General housework today, nothing too strenuous be ause of dodgy back.

Morning from South Lanarkshire, usual grey sky but with promising blue patches.

Hard to concentrate with a very talkative DGS here who has been trying to dictate my post, putting himself at the centre of it of course. We played a game of cards last night that, since neither of us are any good, threatened to go on forever.
This morning we’re off to DD4’s village to deliver a card and gift to my son in law. There won’t be anyone at home so we’ll repair to the excellent ice cream/coffee shop, pick up some lovely morning rolls and be back in time for DD to arrive for lunch and a chat.

I read Baggs tragic news about her daughter, a devastating loss for so many people, her parents, husband and children, my thoughts are with them all.💐

Good Morning everyone, it’s dry out this morning and about 15° which is a great improvement on the last three days. It’s been raining on and off for the last week and from last Friday it’s been the persistent, steady, nonstop type. So bad that they cancelled Carnaval yesterday. I’ve never known that happen before.

We wont be going down to the town today but I’m presuming that it will carry on as normal. They all put so much work into the floats. On Saturday we had lunch out and saw a three year old ladybird needing a lot of persuasion to put her warm red coat on over her lovely costume and later she was followed out by an even smaller fairy. Usually the schools and nurseries have their own parades on Friday and Saturday but they were rained off too.Everything is supposed to be back to normal today and I’m sure the town will be as packed as usual for the next two days. Many places will be closed in addition to the holiday on Tuesday.

Such sad news from Baggs. My condolences go to her and all her family.

Very cold and sunny morning is energising so some necessary sorting out feels like a good idea. Would like to get outside but don’t want to let the new cat out yet so that may have to wait. She seems to want to be wherever I am so she is still not entirely settled and I don’t want her to run off. There is always an indoor job to be done.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle where it may brighten later....
It should have yesterday but didn't. A walk after lunch was not enticing so I made some saffron bread instead. How silly was that when I still need to lose my Christmas weight! I got that the wrong way round.
Today I shall start the usual round of housework and laundry. After lunch will depend on the weather, a walk could happen. If not, I will finish the papers.

Baggs, heartbreaking news from you, the worst thing that can happen to a parent, my thoughts are with you and yours.

Dear Baggs, so very sorry to hear the devastating news about your dearest and brave daughter. My love and sincere condolences to you and your family. I loved seeing the photos of her crocheting recently.

We had a very pleasant walk on the beach yesterday in warm sunshine. The beach and cafe were extremely busy as it is half term here. We are off to York tomorrow to meet up with DD2,DSiL,DGS2 and DGD5 for 3 days. They live in Hessle near Hull and we thought there are lots of exciting activities to do there.

The first thing is a visit to the Railway museum on Wednesday.
I may not post till we get home on Thursday so hope all stay well and have some sunshine in your lives this week and those suffering pain and distress some comfort.

Morning all from what looks like a sunny West Oxfordshire.
Elder son and his family went back to Kew yesterday after a lovely visit. Within hours younger son had arrived for a few
days! We haven’t seen him since Christmas.
I will do my usual Waitrose shop. This afternoon it is my monthly craft afternoon at my friend’s place just literally over the road - avoiding the massive trench in the road made by the workmen who have been laying fibre optic cables for the last week or so!

My heart goes out to Baggs. Few of us know the pain of such a loss. 💐

I remember Acton Trussell well, Susan56, from time spent living in Staffs. When the Numeracy Strategy was introduced in Primary Schools, two of us went on a five day course there. The lunches were delicious!

The new induction cooker we had delivered last week is terrific but we allowed potatoes to boil over and water coursed down the side of the cooker (still learning) but found one of the corner levelling struts at the back of the cooker had been propped up on folded up card by the installers as the thread is broken. DH couldn’t get it back in for ages. So a call to AO this morning.

Half term daycare all day today. Will make cakes with DGD at some point.

Just read about Bagg’s terribly sad news about her DD. My heart goes out to her and her family. 💐

Good morning everyone from a clear and bright Northampton, but we must have had some rain overnight as everything is very wet.
Had a very quiet day in yesterday, Sunday papers and watching the rugby. I failed to spot DD and her DH in the vast crowd! I also finished Bk 4 of the Cazalet Chronicles; now I must attempt my book club read, which luckily is a slim volume by Laurie Lee.

Yoga early this morning, then home to clear the utility room for the new washing machine which comes tomorrow; I need to empty the under-sink cupboard so the men will have access to power and water pipes.

So sorry to read of Baggs DD, such sadness for her and her family.

I was so saddened to hear that Baggs has lost her dear daughter. It is a parents worst nightmare.

I saw Baggs post yesterday evening. Such sad news. Thoughts are with her and her family.
Hairdresser appointment at 9 then back to sort out clothes etc. for my trip to the NW tomorrow. 🤞crossed the trains run to time.

I was so upset to read such sad news from Baggs, one of our Glesca Grannies.

DH is golfing, so an empty for me, but I won't be doing much. Doing the simplest of tasks is such an effort.
I have discovered some French You Tubers, so I'm brushing up on my French, while resting.

Good morning from Malta where the weather looks ok at present. We had quite a hailstorm yesterday, huge balls of ice fell which is very unusual here.

After hearing the sad news from Baggs my heart is heavy. The loss of a child is the dread of every parent and the hardest grief to bear.

Good morning, it’s drying up here in south Glos so my lovely gardener neighbour is helping my tidying the garden today, the boiler’s being serviced and the chimney sweep is coming too. A busy day!
