I don't want to dampen the mood but I'm supervising grandson's homework with only 1 hour's sleep last night. I have some really big worries which I just can't shut off. It's been like this for nearly a week I'm exhausted but just can't shut down. Normally I sleep well.

I used to be very much a night owl, until I cut out caffeine. Switched to decaf coffee and decaf tea. Made a huge difference. If I have a caffeinated drink - just the one - during the day I’m going crazy until two or three in the morning then wake up feeling heavy and tired. There’s caffeine in chocolate too, so limit myself to just two squares of plain chocolate a couple of times a week. I confess I sleep even better in a chilly bedroom.

Same here! It’s only when you cut out caffeine that you realise what a stimulant it is!

oh dear, here I am again. go to bed at midnight and sleep till about 4 then come too and lay there annoyed I'm awake!

the annoyance stops me from dropping off again! eventually got some more sleep till 6 so got up. I don't drink coffee either.. sometimes take half a 'sleepeaze' a Boot's' brand. which helps a bit.
