Am grateful today because...

My adopted niece (a neighbour's daughter who's ten from around the corner) and I dropped stuff off at the charity shop then went on a bit of a spending spree in other shops nearby. I've really missed having littlies around and it's just been an joy. She makes me smile and we have such fun. But I am absolutely knackered! Haha..

Last night we came home from work and he made me a cuppa, plonked it on the coaster then said ''get your choppers into that, squidge face!

I LOVE this! The ability for our DH to make us laugh like children is something very special. We've giggled so much today thinking about our house move (it really has been quite annoying otherwise!) and the fact that everyone forwards of us in the chain is moving within the same town, so imagining the chaos of them all trying to get the same removals company & said company relaying everyone across town for a whole day & getting stuff mixed up. Not funny really, of course, but just imagining the chaos as we're sitting there with our celebratory glass of champers in our lovely new house!!

I had a negative covid test today at last!

I’m glad that my car passed its MOT today, without the need for work! That’s quite a novelty!

I took my oven door apart to clean and managed to get it back together —eventually— 😀

I’m grateful today because I found some hexagons that I had put together for a group quilt at one of the sewing clubs I atttend.
I mislaid them and was mortified because it would mean the pattern of the quilt would be ruined.
Can you imagine having to tell the rest of the group !!
Soooo relieved.

I’m now obsessively looking for trip hazards lucky. I’m a rug addict …. Major trip hazards have four legs 🐶🐕🙈

My dad and Mr PG have had all clear with their tests/procedure and I leave the worry for another day….🙏

I have lived in the same area for 55 years and have many friends and family nearby . We have just been to have some birthday cake with son in law. I am grateful that they live nearby( just five miles away) and he is always welcoming.

Six weeks post my accident I was able to walk my dog, not far, not fast but we both enjoyed it and the sun shone on us. I feel as if life is starting to get back to normal.

I am not at work until Tuesday & tomorrow we are going to London until Sunday 😊

Currently away with friends and today has been filled with laughter and smiles, plus some sunshine and blue sky.😊

Our local surgery is like that, grannyactivist. We only have 3,048 residents here and the surgery is top class. As soon as they could after Covid, they reopened the doors and saw us face-to-face and said if we don't want to wear those awful masks then to take them off and the receptionists, medics etc. would see us without them!

Washing out, door open, soup, making then out for a walk.

Our new oil tank has just been installed, so I can stop worrying that a crack would open up in the bottom and spill 1000 litres of oil into the ground. That was a big worry. (The cracks were spotted 2 weeks ago, the day before we went away for a week, so if we had had a spill the insurance wouldn’t have covered us as we knew about it, but went on holiday anyway, then we had to get a home visit and wait for the tank to be delivered) .
The sun is shining, it’s warm so it’s been a good day

Yes the simple pleasures in life...hanging out the washing in February and having windows and doors open ...lovely fresh air...have just checked on plants in containers and managed to tip surplus water away..a great achievement for me with mobility issues and find my joints are much better today

I have hung the washing out, so not having to use the tumble dryer. Also grateful I could afford the new washing machine to replace the 18 yr old one that gave up the ghost last week!

In spite of the many problems there are with the NHS, my GP surgery still delivers an excellent service. I genuinely don’t think I would get better care if I paid for it privately and this week they have once again excelled themselves.
