Good Morning Friday 16th February 2024

Good morning from Malta where we have another pleasant day weather wise.

The boys were both up when I arrived, one of them had been up since 5.30 so his mum has gone to work feeling very tired.

I’m feeling heaps better today, thank you all for your kindness yesterday. Really appreciated.

Yesterday was busy at times because we had all the carpets and rugs cleaned. This entailed much moving of smaller items to enable the chap access to do the (long overdue!) work. Afterwards, the dehumidifier certainly earned its keep!

As I’m meeting three friends from my exercise class for lunch today, DH will take himself off somewhere by train. Luckily, we are promised a sunny day.

Good morning from the South Downs, another dry day forecast.

Yesterday was the warmest day so far this year, so after cutting back, potting spring pots and sweeping the terrace nearest the house we - the dog and I - sat in the sun and relaxed. We watched DH cutting up a very old rotting garden seat in the pergola in preparation for our brand new one being delivered on Monday - expect rain thereafter!!

Hair cut today - which must be done, but I hate wasting time on a sunny day. I need to inspect the delphinium bed, as I have a horrible feeling that some have been lost to this wet winter. They have been wonderful, year after year and I would really miss them. Photo is of my favourite colour.

I have been awake since 5am, now given up on trying to get back to sleep. Gym first thing, then going with DiL 4 to watch GS’s gymnastics class.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's bracingly cold and clear on my patio. A grand day for walking or in my case hobbling. 😁

Unexpected visit from my daughter-in-law yesterday, with bunches of narcissi. Took me back to a sunny February morning years ago when I arrived on Scilly and the air was full of narcissi scent. We nattered for hours, especially about Vivienne Westwood's fashion sense for some peculiar reason.

This morning I'll continue cushion-making - found some lovely fabric in my cache; a deconstructed summer dress. Then I'll visit my friend whose son-in-law had the stroke two weeks ago. Yesterday the family heard that he won't recover and that impacts on our close group of friends. I'll take her flowers as she really loves them. She'll have many challenges ahead supporting her daughter and grandchildren.

I have no plans at all today and it is too soggy underfoot for anything much out of doors. It will be quite warm and I need to scrub algae off the car window trims. I have the products and today would be a good day to do that

A bit of coat sewing and some reading, it might even be warm enough to take the covers off the wooden benches and sit outside. I`ll take today as it comes

I was having a lovely dream about DH, I could hear him in the shower getting ready for work, I could even smell his aftershave. Then I woke up with tummy ache.
Nothing planned for today, will just potter around and tidy up ready for the weekend.

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It was odd having glorious sunshine first thing then pouring rain in the afternoon.
I finished the blood orange marmalade. It is very sweet and quite bitter, I hope people like it.
The evening at DD’s was a bit fraught. Why is it that the children always choose dinner to have tantrums? We had the usual from Iris, but the usually equable DGD1 was pushed a little too far by her father regarding her forthcoming GCSE choices.
No Spanish today, half term. I’ll sew.

Morning Mick, morning All. No idea what it’s doing outside, our corner of Somerset is forecast a very welcome dry day

Some more sorting yesterday morning before an enjoyable few hours with our teenagers. After our meal the elder disappeared to see her boyfriend leaving the younger to talk for the world. Their exhausted Dad arrived later, working three hours away away this week he’d had a long drive. A chat with him while he ate a re-heated meal before he disappeared home with his younger daughter. No worries about him falling asleep during the 75 minute drive, there would be constant chatter to keep him alert. The logistics of their lives seem more than complex at times.

Volunteering and Tai Chi for me today. Looking forward to both. Mr C will take it easy this morning, he’s very tired at the moment.

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s damp here in south Glos, not cold . I’ve been awake since 2am 🙄, getting a bit bored now as can’t do anything until DH is up.
I will put everything back in the airing cupboard (DH has painted it), I need to sort out the contents as there’s an accumulation of stuff that needs recycling or the charity shop.
Dog walker comes this morning so dog will be happy.
Fish fingers and chips, peas for lunch.
Nothing else planned, I suspect I will be tired this afternoon.

Good morning Mick from a damp and dark north Wales where I’m enjoying my lovely first chamberpot of Yorkshire Gold ☕️ and planning my busy day after some Valentines gallivanting!

Gala - Wrexham does indeed have a lovely vibe about it these days and the small hotel we stayed at, The Lemontree, was delightful with delicious food for dinner and the breakfast was stunning with homemade sourdough, hash brown, black pudding and even the tomato sauce! 😋

Mr PG is an absolute tosser Beechnut…😂 his pancakes 🥞 are so much better than mine because I tend to worry about calories and skimp on the butter and sugar! Of course that’s exactly what makes them so moreish isn’t it!

We’ve had the most worrying few weeks here at PG Towers with all stuff medical but my nursing friend has chivvied me out of doom and gloom with her reasoned advice and we had the all clear yesterday to carry on 🚢 so I’ll take my fortnights leave of you good people and wish you too some blessings in that department 🙏 x
