Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine as to popping into Bicester on the bus for a hour or so, hopefully chat and meet up with friends , I see most days , seems as though they like myself just go out for awhile as it breaks the routine of staying in.
Take Care,
Mick

Wishing everyone a rather late good morning at the start of a new week.
A pleasant day in Shropshire so we enjoyed our daily walk without need for gloves and scarves.
The pots by the front door are looking really colourful, the miniature daffodils are out in force and so cheerful- a lovely sign of spring.
Just need the grass to dry out so the lawn can be cut.
Best wishes to those with troubles and worries and hope everyone has a nice day.

Oh Cornergran - if only you and your friend really could put the world to rights over your coffee ........
Urms, my favourite musical. My earworm is going to be washing my hair all day now 😁

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
After a quiet couple of days, I will get going today and practise songs for forthcoming ‘gigs’ and paint a couple of greetings cards. I’m also trying to get rid of paperwork, so many lists etc piling up. I must also keep to my resolution to have earlier nights, I enjoy the evenings so much with Ipad, tv, books etc, I forget to go to bed…

Good to be out Mick and I’m wondering if I have missed Blossoming as I don’t post every day? Belated birthday greetings Kalu, get well soon Mizuna.
Thoughts to all with worries 🌺

I found myself channelling my inner Mitzi Gaynor “I’m gonna wash that man right outta my hair” 🎵 🎶 after reading your post BlueSapphire!

I just Googled her.

Here she is. She’s 92 now apparently!

Good morning all. Wow! What an absolutely glorious day that was yesterday! We're not known for the best weather in the world on the north-east coast of Scotland, but when we get it you've no idea how much it's appreciated! I soaked up every bit of sun I could (without taking my clothes off though 😂) and sat by the pond for ages watching and trying to count the fish. They have all survived the winter, I'm happy to report.
In fact I spent so long in pure enjoyment yesterday that nothing 'got done'. The same looks as if it might happen today - but at least the towel wash is blowing (very gently) on the line and a short clothes wash is in the machine. I did go down to the beach and the doom and gloomers were not wrong sadly. However judging be the large machines and chaos the 'Cooncil' is doing something about it, which gives me a little hope - at least they're not doing nothing! Whether what they are doing will provide access for Easter may be quite another thing ..... 🤞
I'm sorry I haven't read any posts yet so can't comment, but I hope all the many poorlies feel better today and that the awful worries of others will be provided with comfort. Have a good day everybody 🦋☀️🌷

Thanks Marydoll for the crystals advice.

Jaxjacky Mon 19-Feb-24 09:02:58

Good morning from a dry S Hants, glad you’ve improved Mizuna and 👋 Grammaretto from travels afar.
I’ve just done an econsult to try and see someone about my knee now I think I can get in the car.
On the voluntary phone today, no moving required!
Enjoy your Monday all.

Good morning from a sunny NE where it is dry and mild.
DS and GD1 came yesterday afternoon, GD2 has yet another bad cough they think it may be whooping cough.
GD brought large balls of yarn and crochet hooks and was determined she would master the art. She used an online video and worked at it for the rest of the day.
Today is a quiet day for me.
Thoughts are with poorly people and carers.

Grammaretto Mon 19-Feb-24 08:53:08

Thanks so much for the welcome home. You are such a lovely lot! smile

Your birthday sounded perfect Kalu ❤️

glammagran Mon 19-Feb-24 08:46:27

Good morning all.

DD2 and her family came for dinner yesterday for venison casserole and pineapple upside down pudding. I wasn’t at my best as I had an attack of BBPV at 6am when I turned over in bed and spent the rest of the day feeling dizzy. DGS2 behaved appallingly which spoilt things. He’s nearly always very good with us on Tuesdays. DGD3 was lovely.

DH received a letter from the NHS for a hospital appointment for 8am on Christmas Day, 2024. He phoned up and got through to someone who said it was a holding appointment not a real one to show his details had been received and everyone got them. Can you imagine the people who must phone up and the waste of resources in dealing with them? I was shocked.

School pick up later. Have the best day possible.

Good morning from Glasgow. It looks damp outside but grey skies are clearing with the sun making an attempt to come out. Yesterday was so spring like and mild, I had coffee alfresco and did a bit of garden tidying at 9.30pm. More of this please.

Yesterday was just perfect. A simple day with family, mild and sunny to boot which allowed leaving the back doors open meant a choice of sitting with family in the kitchen or joining DD1’s adorable Lab puppy for a stroll in the garden. Lots of blethering and laughter. A perfect tonic for DH as we took care not to tire him out.

Pleased to hear you are feeling better after your scare Mizuna and your GS will have his woodwork session today. Your garden is enchanting bathed in moonshine.
Good to see you back with us Grammaretto what a rotten time you had between your fall and losing your phone. Look after yourself as you slowly adjust to a different time zone.
Hope you feel better soon Grandmabatty

Most definitely time in the garden today at last.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a smoother day for those in need of one.

Good morning all from the Black country where there's a blue sky and the sun is shining, will send towards you NannyJan.
Will spend some time in the garden and I have a birthday card that needs posting so that will be my exercise for the day.
Good to see you back Grammaretto hope you get your phone and bus pass sorted without to much trouble.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a dull and dry Suffolk where the rain yesterday was very heavy until mid afternoon. The snowdrops have taken such a battering with the rain and sadly I don’t think they will recover.

The fields and lanes are flooded so the dog walk will be limited unless we go further afield. I have a busy week from tomorrow so I need to finish reading the papers today for Wednesday’s meeting.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Greyduster Mon 19-Feb-24 08:30:27

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A dry day in prospect for South Yorkshire so I think I will go out today and walk around the country park with my camera. DS did not come down for football yesterday as he was feeling under the weather. He missed nothing; the result was dire - again! DD and the boys came for lunch and it was a pleasure to be able to sit in the conservatory again with the doors open! What weird weather we are having this February. I was very tired when they had all gone home though.
Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannySomerset Mon 19-Feb-24 08:29:55

Am confined to the house awaiting the delivery of a new iPad so will deal with some overdue paper sorting. Am hoping the switch over to the new one will be as easy as DS assured me it would be. Given the weather I am quite glad to be indoors.

Marydoll Mon 19-Feb-24 08:27:05

*Busted, Georgesgran! 🤣

Alygran Mon 19-Feb-24 08:26:36

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun has appeared.
Walking group this morning, followed by a quick visit to a friend who has broken her leg then the garden centre to meet my cousin.
Lunch club went well, although one lady must have forgotten. Good chat and plenty of laughter.
Have a good day everyone.

Beechnut Mon 19-Feb-24 08:23:17

Good morning from Severnside. It’s dry and I’ve a tip run today. Yesterday I loaded up the car ready. Sat in the garage looking around to see what else could go. To others it might have looked as if I was watching the tumble dryer do it’s tumbling 🤣

Wishing you all a good day 🌸

Georgesgran Mon 19-Feb-24 08:16:42

Good morning from Durham. A wet start earlier, but brightening up nicely now.
Saw both DGSs over the weekend which was lovely - they cheer me in different ways.
I’m having a long awaited day out - something I’ve been promising myself for weeks.
My brain misread Marydolls post as keeping a stash of crystal meth!!!
Best wishes to all. X

Gala Mon 19-Feb-24 08:15:03

Morning all. Wet, again, underfoot here in Sefton but sunny intervals forecast for the rest of the day.
Yesterday was meant to be, mostly, a day of rest but one little job led to another & that led to another..... It ended up quite a productive day.
Singing group this morning. Always an uplifting start to the week. Hopefully the forecast sunny periods will last well into the afternoon & I can get on with garden tidying.
Have a good day.

Marydoll Mon 19-Feb-24 08:13:05

Mizuna

'Mizuna steam and menthol crystals are great for lung problems. I always have a stash of crystals.'

Ah, thanks for that Marydoll, I've never heard of them but will look in the specialist pharmacy here.

Mizuna, you only need a couple of crystals or the steam will rip your throat off, as I knew to my cost, when an inexperienced nurse put too much in. Ouch! 🥵
You can buy a steamer very cheaply in the pharmacy.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 19-Feb-24 08:06:20

Morning all 👋

I am going to Lakeshore today with DD & GSs. They both need new school shoes along with the 9yr old needing football boots. Lets hope all goes smoothly 🤣

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️

Gingster Mon 19-Feb-24 07:53:36

Good morning all .
I’m waiting to call the docs to try for an appointment for DH. They have stopped the queuing outside and now it’s just hanging on the phone. I wonder how long that will take. 😤.

Yesterday party was lovely . My 90 yr old Bridge friend had a wonderful turnout - around 100 guests. Food and drink was fabulous and so much of it! A magic man for the children and everyone chatting and happy. The birthday girl said ‘much bettter than a funeral, I’ll always remember this’. 🥰.

Today little pooch has her 6 monthly check and jab, and ‘hopefully’ a docs appointment for DH.

Take care 🌷

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s about 6º and forecast to be a nice dry day at last
Good to have you back with us Grammaretto you’ve been missed. Hope you can get your new phone and pass etc sorted easily enough without any hassle
I’m looking forward to a couple of classes at the gym today and then a few of us are meeting up for coffee afterwards. Its half term here, DD2 and family are away for a couple of days so no school run today or sleepover last night
Hoping all goes well for your DD baubles
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

luluaugust Mon 19-Feb-24 07:52:40

Good morning from a damp W Kent, cleaner coming this morning but otherwise a quiet day DH not driving so we are both out of action until next week I think. I was hoping to see about joining a U3A art group but if they are planning to meet on a Monday I can’t go anyway.
Yesterday we had a happy day with DD2 and DS and families.
Take care everyone
