Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine as to popping into Bicester on the bus for a hour or so, hopefully chat and meet up with friends , I see most days , seems as though they like myself just go out for awhile as it breaks the routine of staying in.
Take Care,
Mick

Grandmabatty Mon 19-Feb-24 05:50:29

Good morning Mick and all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. Yesterday I met up with a friend for coffee. She hasn't been able to socialise for months because of crippling sciatica so it was especially nice to see her. I made a chicken casserole with dumplings in the slow cooker but got the measurements wrong and the dumplings were vile 🤢
Today is early childcare day after a rotten night's sleep. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight. Have a good day all

grandMattie Mon 19-Feb-24 05:53:53

Good morning from a dry Bristol.
Had a quiet day after church. I did very little, except some hand sewing on the quilt. I’m still finishing off a gratin, so didn’t need to cook either.
Toddler group this morning; I haven’t prepared a craft activity for today. Next week..
WI this afternoon; I hope someone talks to me rather than looking at me suspiciously. It’s rather disconcerting.
May this week be kind to you. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick, it’s a very dark morning here, I can’t get up yet or I’ll wake the dog and she will want to go down into the garden and chase the rabbits. Noisily.
Mizuna I hope you are feeling better today.
Silver and copper cleaning today, then clean up the old sewing machine to go to the Charity shop tomorrow along with some more books.
Have a good day everyone, let’s hope the sun shines and our squelchy gardens start to dry up. lots of local flooding again yesterday so I hope it soon just goes away and stops raining for a few days.

RosesandLilac Mon 19-Feb-24 06:12:05

Good morning from south Glos, it’s another damp start to the day here.
Yesterday I tidied out two kitchen cupboards, very satisfying to do 😊, I’ll do another one today.
I did do some drawing but it didn’t go well so I will restart it today, no problem.
We watched The Shuttle that Fell to Earth yesterday afternoon, very thought-provoking and poignant; neither of us could remember it happening which is odd and a little disconcerting 🤔
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning from s somerset. I am gambling on a correct weather forecast and have a big wash in the machine, to hang out

Yesterday was busy, sewing room is clean after finishing my coat. De cluttered spices and herbs followed by lots of relaxing hypnotic spinning, then unexpectedly, I de-cluttered many dvds, maybe over 200. I instinctively knew what I would want to watch again and again and those were all I kept. It was cathartic. I had been putting that off for years

TodayI am driving to collect my new glasses, haven`t got the time to be going by bus as I also have my craft group today

Have a good day

Good morning from a mild, dry Torbay.

I hope you find the energy to cope with your grandsons today, Grandmabatty, and that you find a friendly face at W.I., grandMattie.

Exercise class later whilst DH stays in to deal with the gas boiler service engineer, postponed from last week when I was unwell.

Wishing everyone as good a week as possible. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a very damp corner of Somerset. Fields and lanes are flooded. Thankfully the flood protection scheme along our little river is working although the river is still far too close to the top.

Dug out two large folders full of project work our sons did in junior school. We’ve not looked at them in years. The family should be here on Sunday, if so I’ll ask the authors if they’d like them, if nothing else it will entertain their children.

Blood test for Mr C this morning then I’m off for coffee with a GN friend. We’ve not been able to meet for a while, I suspect several coffees will be needed while the world is put to rights.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 19-Feb-24 06:52:37

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed but I’ve a feeling it’s damp outside.
I spoke to my brother in Australia yesterday. He had a pacemaker fitted and is now staying with my sister for a few days. He looked well.
Usual Monday shopping today. I can’t go my usual route as we’ve flooding again.
OH is having an asthma check this afternoon. Then tomorrow he is seeing a physio about both knees. He had an X-ray recently and they are both shot! He is quite depressed about it all and fears he will need to use a large part of our savings to have any operation privately. A friend is having to wait months for a knee replacement on the NHS and is now on crutches and morphine.
Have a good day everyone.

Grammaretto Mon 19-Feb-24 06:57:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders . Quite mild.
It was a beautiful Spring day yesterday to welcome me home, The first daffodils are out.
I must buy a new phone today as it's impossible without one now I'm back at my regular groups.
I should apply for a new bus pass too as that was in the phone wallet which I left on the plane.

DD and her family came to see me and we went out for Sunday brunch.

Today should be a U3A walk but I don't think I am quite ready for that.

I hope you feel up to childminding Grandmabatty and the boys are gentle with you smile

I hope your WI session goes better gMattie and that you are over that breathing scare Mizuna
Well done on the decluttering Karmalady

Thinking of all those who are struggling to cope.

Good morning from a mild dry morning in Northampton.
Yoga at 9.30, followed by a day of pottering and reading.

A lovely afternoon at the cinema yesterday with Maw enjoying the glorious music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Wine wine was taken... The singers were beyond excellent, also the orchestra. Quite emotional at imes; I think we share a favourite musical, South Pacific.

Enjoy your day, everyone.

Mizuna Mon 19-Feb-24 07:02:27

Good morning from a drizzly, very mild Cornwall. Thank you for all your kind comments about my breathing. I'm strange as I never get worried by medical things, something I picked up from my parents. I'm still wheezing and coughing for England but have energy now. My granddaughter popped in for two hours yesterday and we discussed her home-made slime. 😁 My daughter-in-law delivered a roast dinner in a Tupperware box plus a single pink camellia.

This morning the six-year-old is finally coming for his woodworking session. I'll sit and sew for the rest of the day.

The picture is last night's moonlight shining on my patio mirrors.

NannyJan53 Mon 19-Feb-24 07:05:18

Good morning from a dark and dull Black Country. Where rain is predicted at some point today.

Walking group this morning, then Line Dancing with my friend this afternoon. Last week as it was half term, we went for a coffee and natter afterwards. Today it is back to the school run for her! So pleased I am not tied down like this.

How said gM that the WI ignore you like that. So short sighted as they will lose new members.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Pittcity Mon 19-Feb-24 07:05:51

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. It's mild and dry, for now.
DH is off fishing with a friend for a few days, so I am alone.
I'll take the opportunity to spring clean.
Today I'll walk to a couple of shops that are a bit further than my usual haunts. I have plenty of time to mooch.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from Shropshire.Another mild start. We didn’t need the heating on at all yesterday.

I was awake for several hours in the night and ended up reading my book as the worries that were keeping me awake were multiplying while I just lay there.I’m sorry you had a bad night too Grandmabatty and hope the boys are calm for you today.

DH has his shingles vaccination this morning then this afternoon our son in law is coming over to take our conservatory furniture to the tip.I hope we have made the right decision about the new furniture we are having.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Marydoll Mon 19-Feb-24 07:14:36

Good morning from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 8°C.

Good to see you home safely, Grammaretto,

Mizuna steam and menthol crystals are great for lung problems. I always have a stash of crystals.

I hope you had a lovely day yesterday, Kalu.

Have a good day everyone.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 19-Feb-24 07:18:48

Good morning from a drier South Downs.

It has been an incredibly wet winter and I have noticed the poor worms coming up for air or else I suppose they will drown, but they make for easy pickings by the seagulls and blackbirds, thrushes etc. so it is death by drowning or as fodder. 😦.

Yesterday I was not best pleased as next doors cat had managed to open the greenhouse door snd had created absolute mayhem, chasing a mouse. He smashed my best plant pot, threw suet balls, bird seed and compost all over the floor. Tofu by name - arsehole by nature😡.

Today the new garden seat arrives. DH has prepared its site so it is just a question of putting it there ready for the better weather, and Tofu had better not view it as his to doze in the sun on!!

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to the world.

kittylester Mon 19-Feb-24 07:34:31

Good morning all from a grey and damp North Leicestershire.

We had a busy weekend with DD2 and family here with various other comings and goings.

Today I have a zoomed Carer Learning session. This group is not very vocal so harder work than usual.

Off to Derby to have a meal with DD1 and family this evening.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Mon 19-Feb-24 07:35:11

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and 18°C.

I’m with the boys, another fun day with these happy little souls. I so wish my DH could have lived to see them, he would have adored them.

Wishing you all a happy Monday.☀️

Mizuna Mon 19-Feb-24 07:44:36

'Mizuna steam and menthol crystals are great for lung problems. I always have a stash of crystals.'

Ah, thanks for that Marydoll, I've never heard of them but will look in the specialist pharmacy here.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s not actually raining at the moment.

Welcome back Grammaretto.

Charity shop stint today and not much else on my agenda.
DD is having a small op today and depending on timing DH may have to collect her and take her home.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

luluaugust Mon 19-Feb-24 07:52:40

Good morning from a damp W Kent, cleaner coming this morning but otherwise a quiet day DH not driving so we are both out of action until next week I think. I was hoping to see about joining a U3A art group but if they are planning to meet on a Monday I can’t go anyway.
Yesterday we had a happy day with DD2 and DS and families.
Take care everyone

brook2704 Mon 19-Feb-24 07:53:30

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s about 6º and forecast to be a nice dry day at last
Good to have you back with us Grammaretto you’ve been missed. Hope you can get your new phone and pass etc sorted easily enough without any hassle
I’m looking forward to a couple of classes at the gym today and then a few of us are meeting up for coffee afterwards. Its half term here, DD2 and family are away for a couple of days so no school run today or sleepover last night
Hoping all goes well for your DD baubles
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Mon 19-Feb-24 07:53:36

Good morning all .
I’m waiting to call the docs to try for an appointment for DH. They have stopped the queuing outside and now it’s just hanging on the phone. I wonder how long that will take. 😤.

Yesterday party was lovely . My 90 yr old Bridge friend had a wonderful turnout - around 100 guests. Food and drink was fabulous and so much of it! A magic man for the children and everyone chatting and happy. The birthday girl said ‘much bettter than a funeral, I’ll always remember this’. 🥰.

Today little pooch has her 6 monthly check and jab, and ‘hopefully’ a docs appointment for DH.

Take care 🌷

GrannyGravy13 Mon 19-Feb-24 08:06:20

Morning all 👋

I am going to Lakeshore today with DD & GSs. They both need new school shoes along with the 9yr old needing football boots. Lets hope all goes smoothly 🤣

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️
