Good morning a bright sunny start to the day here in the Black country long may it continue.
No plans as yet may take a trip into town I still haven't spent my M&S vouchers from my birthday, and I'm still looking for new jeans.
GrannyIvy what a palaver glad you finally got antibiotics hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning all and it’s brighter and no rain forecast until later this afternoon here in Essex.

Yesterdays lunch with brothers and SIL was lovely. The food was very good but the restaurant was chilly.

Docs appointment with dh went ok. He didn’t think Dh had had another TIA and as he’s already on appropriate meds, just booked him in for physio for his weak legs. I think his symptoms were caused by the flu - like cold he’s had.🙏.

Beautiful cake Bellasnanna simple but so pretty.
GG hope you’re feeling better soon 🤞. Lots of sleepless people about. Something to do with the moon ? Who knows! 🤔.
GrannyIvy. I’m glad you got your antibiotics. It’s a battle isn’t it?
Marydoll enjoy your get together with the neighbours. I hope MRS Nosey behaves. Difficult situation for you.

Take care all 🌷

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The South Yorkshire sun is blazing today but it’s chilly out. Yesterday it poured almost all day. I went and chose frames and ordered my new specs. The rest of the day was spent sorting out paperwork, and having a long conversation on the phone with DD. We are going out together tomorrow.
Laundry and food shopping this morning and volunteering this afternoon.
Bellasnana that is a splendid cake. It doesn’t look at all simple to me!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and looks damp. Some blue skies though. Susan thank you, dgs1 had a good birthday. Dsils parents came last night too and we had a chippie tea at dgs1's request. GrandMattie I hope your appointment goes well today and the taxi gets you there safely. Susan I hope the sale of your mother in law's house goes well and your dh's sister can move on. Bellasnana that's a lovely cake. I hope your dgd had a nice birthday. Luluaugust I hope your dgd is ok. My DD at 14 was minutes away from an operation to remove her appendix when they changed their mind and agreed it was a severe attack of menstrual cramps. Poor thing has suffered all her days with it. Marydoll they are determined to use you for jury duty! I wonder if it's a mistake, given your previous information to them.
Yesterday I was happier at art class. I managed to draw a dancer as a sketch and it wasn't as bad as I feared. I'm trying to extend my repertoire to draw people and I'm finding it a real challenge. Then I did some pottering about at home. In the evening I joined the family to wish dgs1 a happy birthday.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment then this afternoon I'll visit mum. Visits are difficult because she has no conversation and her memory has gone. However she'll enjoy hearing about the wee one's birthday. Apart from that, I'll tidy out my jewellery. I have lots of earrings that I no longer can wear, so time for them to go. Dd won't want them. I'm cleaning out the fridge freezer today too- a job I loathe. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone from a dry, cold and frosty Inverness, only about 1º
A gorgeous birthday cake bellasnana hope the birthday girl had a lovely day
Thank you all for your best wishes after my eye op on Wednesday. It’s still early days so lots of rest. DH is working this morning but when he’s home we might just go to the local garden centre for a coffee. That’ll be about it for today.
Enjoy the get together later marydoll and be good!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; lovely after yesterday's torrential rain. It's 3°C outside, and a frost forecast for tonight.

This is my first post on my new Kindle Fire tablet! I set it up yesterday afternoon, which was easy, as Amazon transfer everything over automatically; just a few passwords to enter and the apps to rearrange on the home page. A few little differences to operate, but easy enough. I didn't leave it on charge overnight, and it was still on 100% when I opened it this morning; my old one would have run right down. So, business as usual.

Out for lunch today with a couple of friends, one of whom has had an operation, and is feeling the need to get out of the house.

Hope Friday is kind to all.

Taichinan Fri 23-Feb-24 08:24:45

Good morning everyone, and what a surprise to wake up to a thick frost here! But with a frost comes clear skies and sunshine, so I'm not complaining. I do feel sorry for all you folks who are having day after day of heavy rain and floods. That surely will end soon.
A lovely lunch with friends yesterday - always good to see them - and tai chi was its usual calm and pleasant self.
I'm glad you eventually got seen by a GP and received the antibiotics you needed GrannyIvy. But what a palaver!
baubles belated anniversary wishes - so glad you had a lovely day.
Glad you had a happy time with Babydoll yesterday, Marydoll - the best medicine really!
That's far better than 'just a simple cake' her mother made for your DGD's birthday Bellasnana! It must have been lovely to facetime her.
Lovely that Olddudders has found a new kindred spirit Ash - fun times ahead.
Now I must dash as I have a new dishwasher being installed this morning. When my old one 'died' right at the beginning of the first lockdown I decided that it was something I could do without. And I could. But now I have decided that it's so much better with one and have given in to temptation 😉
So off I trot. May the rain stop and the sun shine and those of you who are poorly have a good day ☀️🦋

Morning from a not raining S Hants, blue skies for a welcome change.
Best of luck with all appointments today and enjoy trips out for more sociable events.
We have the grandchildren staying until Sunday, MrJ will be in charge.

Good morning from a dull but dry Suffolk after torrential rain yesterday and a thunderstorm in Lowestoft apparently.

Our drive home from the outing with the Ipswich 3 GC was dreadful….waterlogged roads which was worse when we had to turn off the A12 at Yoxford which was closed because of a serious accident. The diversion took us onto very minor roads which we know well but had deep floods in many places. Glad to see our own lane. DS had phoned 3 times before we were home to check we were ok and said,as I answered the phone as I opened the front door, that he was about to send out a search party.

Whereas we used to ask our children to phone when they got to wherever they were going, they all now ask us to let them know when we are safely home!

I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning and then an afternoon of trying to rescue the beautiful early narcissi in the garden that have been battered by the winds. I think I’ll have to cut them and bring indoors.

Hope those unwell feel better as the day goes on.

Bonnybanko Fri 23-Feb-24 08:48:36

Have a safe day my friends

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of cloud and sun. It stayed dry yesterday but I stayed in as my back is definitely not up to gardening. I researched new mattresses, what a price decent ones are now! I'm going to have to get one from a local store as I'll have to have persons to take it upstairs and instal it for me.
I also had a phone call from the hospital cancelling my venesection appointment for Monday as a blood test showed my iron levels were staying low enough. One bit of good news on the health front for once.

Today, just a few little odd jobs, more mattress research and then fun things. A walk would be good too.

Wishing you all a good day.

Grammaretto Fri 23-Feb-24 09:21:48

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It was sunny first thing but the skies are darkening.
I am not well. A bad night with flu/cold symptoms. I've called off my voluntary job today and hope they can manage without me.

It will be something I picked up on the plane. 325 souls breathing the same air for 24 hours.

Happy birthday to your DGD Bellasnanna.
I can't believe the courts are so determined to have you on the jury Marydoll grin I have only been called once about 30 years ago. It was the High Court and a grim case.

GrannyIvy I'm glad you got to speak to a doctor eventually!
gMattie good luck with today.

Back to bed for me.
Hoping everyone has some joy today.

Blossoming Fri 23-Feb-24 09:27:34

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 5°C.

I have not felt up to doing much for the last few weeks. I picked up a nasty bug that caused a hacking dry cough and left me exhausted. It seems to have been doing the rounds and has been difficult to shake off.

Thoughts with Kalu,Baggs and Urms, as always.

Have the best day you can, whatever you’re doing today ❤️

Susan56 Fri 23-Feb-24 09:37:17

Good to see you back Blossoming😊Hope you are soon feeling much better.x

Taichinan Fri 23-Feb-24 11:02:11

Purplepixie Fri 23-Feb-24 11:24:43

Good morning from a very sunny and dry East Midlands. Last of my injections last night, thank goodness. Five weeks on monday since the hysterectomy and I feel so tired still. Early days yet. Take care everyone. Love and hugs.

hollysteers Fri 23-Feb-24 11:52:31

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast 7°.
Lovely day yesterday even in a biting wind. Met old pianist friend in the city and we spent time in our favourite old bookshop full of character, which has managed to survive the modern renovations all around it.
Then a nice meal and on to a symphony concert all paid for by me for his birthday. The piano concerto bringing tears to my eyes. I sat in the row in front of him as it was a sell out and all I could get.

Quiet day today, super cake Bellasnana, get well soon Blossoming and thoughts to all poorlies. I remember being very weak after my hystericalectomy, as I call it😁 Purplepixie, but you’ll get there🌺

NannyJan53 Fri 23-Feb-24 12:15:47

Good afternoon now. Just back from overnight stay in Birmingham after the Ballet last night.

Lovely sunny morning albeit with a very cold wind.

Sad news yesterday from DS, his uncle (my Ex's brother) passed away yesterday. Only 2 years older than me.

Wishing you all the best day possible and carpe diem !
