Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry at the moment here in brackley this morning.
Things yesterday was starting to get busy saying hello to those who I knew in Bicester .
Today a similar routine on the bus and using my bus pass both ways unlike Monday to Friday .
The weather still feels chilly in the day ,and as yet no sleet or snow in this part of the country , but the air seems colder in Bicester because its lower than where I am .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a very frosty mid Wales. Early.stqrt for me today as I'm taking out pusskin to the cattery ready for our move sometime in the next week (hopefully). Long story as to why she's going today and not later in the week. Cattery looks lovely and the folk who run it seem kind so I'm glad puss is going somewhere nice. She hates the car, though, and lets me know regularly 😢 She's very friendly and will like some fuss from the staff. Other than that, which will take up half the day, it's carry on packing! Getting there. Hoping it's going to happen by next weekend. It's all getting a bit annoying now.

Have a lovely weekend folks 🤗

Good morning from a slightly frosty Cambridgeshire. Really hoping camellia and magnolia buds will survive! Nothing much planned here today as I am laying low still with an ear infection DH has a day of rugby watching planned. Wishing a happy peaceful day to all

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and frosty. The roads look damp so there's probably black ice about. I'll have to scrape my car later. Gala enjoy. I'm a big fan of Matthew Bourne's ballets. Pittcity happy birthday to your Dh. Cornergran that is good news about your friend. I hope she settles quickly.
Yesterday I defrosted the fridge freezer and cleaned it thoroughly. It's a job I loathe so I was glad once it was done. Dd and dgs2 popped in for a cuppa after his haircut. It was lovely to see them. Dd also chose pieces of my jewellery that I was sorting out. I was surprised by how much she wanted because we have very different styles but glad it was staying in the family. I have a bag of mainly costume jewellery ready for the charity shop. I rarely wear jewellery nowadays.
Today I'll do a food shop and some housework. This afternoon I'm going to dgs1's birthday party. It'll be my idea of hell, 30 small children in a sports hall, screaming and running around, but dgs1 wants me there. His other gran refuses to attend parties. Afterwards I expect a lie down in a darkened room will help. 😂 I have no idea what I'll have for dinner. Possibly steak casserole which I'll make in the slow cooker and freeze some. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from Glasgow, a chilly 1 °C.

Welcome to our newcomers. That's good you have found a reason for your poor hearing, GM.
Ash, I do like the sound of your evening.

Yesterday was very busy. My friend was reduced to tears yesterday by our little party. The Ebay Queen, went to such lengths to make it success. We toasted my friend with Nosecco, she had never heard of it and we had to persuade her that she could still drive!
I did bite my tongue, but was quite tearful, when they kept insisting that I should watch Breathtaking, the drama about Covid, until I explained that I was one of the patients, who had a DNR notice put in their file and would not be admitted to hospital if I became ill with Covid. It's a time I want to forget!
They were quite shocked, not even my children were aware of that information.
My daughter unexpectedly popped in, much to my delight! She is very fond of my friend.
Her face was so much better after the abcess problem one worry resolved.

After phoning the surgery at 8am, I was at 34th in the queue. By the time I got to speak to someone, she told me there were no appointments left. I then had a coughing fit (not deliberately 😁) and couldn't speak. I got my telephone appointment, when she heard how breathless I was.

I was surprised later when my own GP phoned me. I haven't had a consultation with him since pre Lockdown. He had disappeared off the scene and I wonder if he had been ill.
He was raging that I had been summoned again for jury service, after being exempted last year and assured me that he was going to make it very clear, I would never be able to serve. Also he commented that I was the second patient he had spoken to about this recently.
On hearing how unwell and low I was, he prescribed strong antibiotics and queried why the cardiologist hadn't referred me back to the respiratory clinic, leaving it for him to do so. 🤬 So much time wasted! He is now going to refer me.

DH immediately drove he to the surgery, ( just as the schools were coming out ☹ ) where the scripts were already waiting.
I felt such a sense of relief. My GP was so kind, commenting that I wasn't my usual stoic and resilient self and asking what else he could do for me.
Sometimes, a little TLC is all it takes to give us a boost.

Tonight we have Dollie overnight, mum and dad are on a hot date. She is so excited about it, but not so excited about having to go to the Vigil Mass! 😂
She will take on the role of trainee sacristan, complete with my many keys round her neck ( think Victorian housekeeper), that will keep her busy. 😉 A takeaway should keep her sweet.

I wish you all a pleasant day and sending virtual hugs to all who are struggling. 💐

Good morning all and we have a light frost here in Essex. Sunny and chilly.

DS1 will be coming round to dig up old shrubs and clear our tiny garden. . I need more colour so we’ll be planning what to buy at the nursery. Dh will help with his secateurs. DS can be a bit(very) Gung Ho, so I’ll have to keep my eye on him.

Take care all and I hope all those with Illness and worries , feel a little better each day. 🌷

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s frosty and misty with the promise of some sunshine.
Some laundry to do and a bit of charity admin. Possibly some gardening….its nice to have a chill kind of day as my week was very busy (for me but not compared to many of you!).
Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Sat 24-Feb-24 08:29:44

Good morning all from a very frosty but bright North Leicestershire.

The ironing really needs doing today!!

brook2704 Sat 24-Feb-24 08:40:47

Good morning everyone from Inverness, where it’s cold and just 1 º but dry
So pleased you’ve had a lovely few days away stilllearning, I can picture you sitting in the concert hall cafe. I love the polar express nickname too!
Nothing much planned for today but if the weather stays dry, we might go out for a short walk somewhere. Will see how the day goes
Happy Birthday to your DH pittcity and to your DGD Sar53 lots of celebrations today🥂💐🎉🎂

Good morning from a sunny NE where we have a hard frost.
DD and SIL arrived in the UK yesterday but found their boiler wasn't working so will need an engineer to sort it. DD doesn't think she will manage to visit as she is only here for the weekend and is at a concert tomorrow.
DS, DIL and GD2 intend to visit this afternoon, I do hope GD is better she seems to have had one virus after another since the start of the year.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Good morning from a frosty Oxfordshire, good morning to all the new posters this morning, good to see you.

We went out for a curry last night and the restaurant was packed, it’s usually empty so it was good to see that people are coming out, use it or lose it these days.

Nothing much on today, I put quite a lot of things on FB marketplace (all free) and despite people being ‘on their way’ no one has turned up to collect any of it. Grrrr. Why bother?

Anyway, have a good day everyone, hugs for those who are unwell or stressed. I don’t think it will be sunny today as it’s turned quite dull.

Mamardoit Sat 24-Feb-24 09:32:47

Good morning everyone from a sunny Leicestershire. We have had a slight frost and it was certainly a bit nippy when I took the compost caddy out to the compost bin in my pjs.

We need to get on this morning and hopefully the sunshine will make the greenhouse nice and warm to work in. We don't heat it over winter but store some more tender plants in there. It's time to see what survived.

Need to finish in time for the rugby. Then we are off to friends with a bottle of wine for an evening of putting the world to right. It's our turn to walk to there's.

Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 3°C.

Yesterday was a pottering sort of day, nothing too strenuous. I bought an iPhone from John Lewis as I really don’t get on with Android, despite having one as a work phone for years. It was delivered a few days ago but I waited to set it up until I could give it my full attention. So yesterday seemed like a good time and it’s now up and running and much easier to use. Today I need to count out my meds for the next few weeks, then some laundry to do. The dreadful cough seems to have gone and I can sleep again and my Botoxed eye is improving. So life is looking good again, though still a bit wobbly and lightheaded.

Sending love and healing vibes to all unwell or troubled. Thoughts with Kalu,Baggs and Urms, as always.

Have the best day you can, whatever you’re doing today 🌻

Good morning all from a sunny but very frosty (up to a staggering 2° now) Angus coast. I have decamped from the north-facing garden room to the cosy sunny front porch, where I'm basking in a pool of warm sun.
Happy birthday to Pitt's DH and to Sar's DGD, Hi 👋 to lottydot and Tessyo, and a sigh of relief that your friend is in her new care home Corner. You're right Marydoll - a little bit of genuine caring means such a lot. I'm glad you found it with your GP.
My new dishwasher was duly delivered - but couldn't be fitted properly because of new piping and old piping not being compatible (?!). Anyway he'll be back on either Monday morning or Tuesday afternoon to complete. Not the end of the world, but nothing I try to do in this house is ever straightforward........
DD and New Man are up this weekend to go on a Locked Room experience with her DDs, which I'm sure they will all enjoy. I'm meeting them in Perth tomorrow for lunch and looking forward to hearing all about it.
Today, having missed my shopping day on Thursday, I shall have to go to the shops. I seem to have lost my taste buds these days which makes planning meals difficult as I really don't fancy anything!
Anyway, off I go to don my warmest clothes (think Nanook of the North) and set off - once I've finished this second cup of piping hot coffee. Have a good day everyone and remember the rain is going to stop and the sun is going to shine x

Good afternoon everyone I just wanted to share that things are good here. Himself has very few side effects from this new iv chemo so far and he has more energy. He has even gained a little weight. This is so heartening for our little family to see as you can all imagine. A good phase and we hope to make the most of it. You are all so kind sending good wishes I felt I had to update you!
x
