I didn’t think dogs were allowed in Waitrose 😳

I was shopping in a large Waitrose today in Henley on Thames. Two men were in the store with a large Alsatian, not a guide dog. One of the Store personnel was talking to them and I assumed there were being told to leave the store, however this didn’t happen.

On looking closer at the chap in the woolly hat I realised it was Russell Brand and another chap who I recognised but can’t name.

No one challenged him, maybe they didn’t dare.

No not Russell Howard he’s far too good looking.

Keep trying folks.

Joseann Tue 27-Feb-24 07:46:11

Comedian? Russell Howard?

NanKate Tue 27-Feb-24 07:32:20

PS I suspect he will be some fringe comedian.

He looked a bit like Dobby in the Harry Potter films.

The reason I recognised his companion was I had seen a photo of him a couple of days before and I remembered him because he had rather a strange look.

I don’t think they were actually buying anything just walking around laughing.

I’m frightened of some Alsatians but out of the three of them the Alsatian wins for being the most approachable.

None of the names so far are correct but well done for trying.

I’ve been trying to find the name of the other chap. I think he is an actor. He was small, blonde with an odd shaped head. 🙃

There will be a prize of a shopping session with RB for the first person who names the friend. 😀

Could it have been have been the little goblin Dobby?

Ah, so just allegations then?
I wouldn't condemn someone unless they were charged.

This is an interesting read....

I don't see what the issue is with Russell Brand, actually.

Okaaaaaay.....

(Have you seen the news lately?!)

Rob Beckett?

Oh yes, if that's who I think it is.

I can't think of anything more unwholesome than Russell Brand. They should've let the dog in on its own. So NanKate I'll be opting out of the competition, I don't want any sort of session with RB thanks!

Love it ! Amen to that.

If I win, I shall auction off the prize and donate the money to the Dogs' Trust

I think it must be a guard dog to protect him from angry old women.

MissAdventure Mon 26-Feb-24 23:15:59

Perhaps Russell's dog is an emotional support dog?

Vykk Mon 26-Feb-24 22:59:24

That has made me laugh !!

annodomini Mon 26-Feb-24 22:57:36

It's official! I've just asked a relative who is a Waitrose manager and she says dogs are not allowed in Waitrose except for assistance dogs but dogs are allowed in John Lewis.

I have noticed this recently, signs in supermarket and other shops stating they are Dog Friendly.

How many customers are Dog Friendly?

I'm not, not in a supermarket.

I don't like either.
I like to concentrate on the matter in hand.
My food.

I have recently noticed dogs in supermarkets more. Not service dogs, just people with dogs. I too had thought dogs were not permitted but found its up to the store. Think I prefer to see dogs on leads rather than some of the children who are allowed to run about yelling and screaming!

Love all the comments about RB!!😷😂 I,m with everyone on the issue of dogs(well behaved or not)in food shops.Apart from assistance dogs obviously. However recently I met a friend for coffee in a large hotel cum coffee lounge. Soon after we arrived a large man sat at a table next to us.With him was a large dog,a large wet dog which periodically kept shaking itself, to dry off I assume. Very unpleasant and very antisocial of the owner!
