Good Morning Tuesday 27th February 2024

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where we were woken about 30 mins ago by a loud knock on the front door. It was the oil delivery due on Friday and the tank was locked! DH struggled out of bed,luckily had located the keys when he placed the order and padded out with dressing gown over his pyjamas.

I’ve only glanced at the first few posts but pleased to see that Mizuna is back home and that grandMattie’s ring has turned up. A similar thing happened with DH’s wedding ring. After a couple of months we bought a replacement one about 4 weeks ago. When we were going to Ipswich to collect the GC for lunch and the cinema last week,he removed the cover on the back seat which is for the dog. It is usually on all the time as rarely do others travel in the back of his car. The ring was there. How it got there we have no idea as when he lost it we had travelled in my car to DS and it was on the way back that he noticed it wasn’t on his finger.

A dear friend of mine is moving back to Essex where her children,GC and sister live. She moved to Suffolk about 25 years ago but has kept in touch with her many friends there. Her DH died about 16 months ago and she struggled with deciding if and when to move. She is hosting a coffee morning for her friends here which I’m looking forward to.

I was pleased to get my rear windscreen wiper motor fixed yesterday. The mechanic ‘unsiezed’ it and charged me £15!
I have bits of admin to do and then I will be popping round to a friends later. OH has his shooting club. He’s also arranging to move his bees to another site. Bizarrely he knows several people who are bee keepers and shoot!

Yesterday, was DIL dressed up Babydoll as Bilbao Baggins for World Book Day at Book Bug. She looked uncannily like him, apart from having no hair!🤣
My DIL is so talented, she is the successful designer of Halloween costumes, I never was. I failed every time.😉

The sun was shining yesterday and I foolishly thought I would spend half an hour in the garden. It is my place of refuge, but it has been neglected, due to my ill health. DH does the grass and tree lopping, but otherwise he isn't really interested.
I enjoyed being in the fresh air, but the exertion left me breathless and light headed. I was so frustrated and annoyed! ☹

I may tackle some sewing jobs today, depending how I feel. It is a curse to have short arms and legs, nothing fits.😉

Good morning all and thank goodness that icy wind has dropped. Boy, was it cold yesterday.

This morning I’ll do some housework, walk the dog . Bridge club later this afternoon. Dh is going to the seafront with his two old school pals for fish and chips. I’ve known them since we were all 16, and they’re a poor little trio. One with advanced Parkinson’s, my Dh can’t walk very well, hard of hearing and slurred speech and the other with scoliosis. I think of them when young boys, fit and healthy , full of life. 😥.

Whitewavemark sorry you’re feeling down. Lots of people feeling this way at the moment - a long wet winter and it’s February (a most depressing month). Spring is almost here and the longer days will soon be upon us. Keep busy and meet up with friends and family. Keep smiling , ( it really does help). 💐.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, 2°C outside, and showers forecast later.
Hairdressers this morning, then hoping to get out for a well-being walk this afternoon.

A fruitless visit to the bank yesterday; apparently the account is date sensitive and nothing can be done until the maturity date, which is at the weekend. As I have an appointment to see a bank manager next week I shall leave it until then.

May Tuesday be kind to us all.

Good morning everyone, it’s a dry frosty morning here in south Glos, hoping we’ll have some sunshine today.
I did a very stupid thing yesterday when walking the dog. I had the lead wrapped around my finger when she decided to take off to play with another dog. The result is both very painful and ugly, I honestly thought I was going to faint. I’ve put a dressing on it but it’s very swollen and painful so a restless night. Pointless going to A+E, the surgery is completely useless so will see what happens 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m not going to be doing much for the next few days so hey ho!

Good morning from a grey, damp Durham. I’m still coughing and feel a bit ‘chesty’. Pleased to hear Mizuma is home. DD2 has had today’s hospital appointment cancelled - she was just getting parked when they rang. It’s the strike, but very disappointing for her, only 1/2 an hour notice.
Coffee this morning at a local garden centre with a friend, then home to DD2’s laundry and a walk with her Little Dog later.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. The frost has gone but so has the sun, now we are due days of showers and possibly worse. My soil is very wet and we haven't had the quantities of rain southerners seem to have had.

Yesterday, I ordered my new mattress. I didn't think it would take nearly 2 hours to choose one! I had a short list from looking at the firm's website but the knowledgeable salesman had me trying others I hadn't considered. In the end, it was one on my shortlist but medium not firm. Mattress technology has come on a lot since my last purchase and the choices must be bewildering to a mattress buyer newbie. Now I know I'm going to start worrying about whether I've made the right choice....

Today will just be a boring round of housework and laundry followed by some book reading this afternoon. I soon realised that I'd read this book before but, for the life of me, can't remember the ending.

This is the place to offload a low mood WWW, where better? Hope it soon passes.

Good Morning all from a slightly less chilly Co Armagh, yesterday was bitter
I was putting out solar lights , I like to see the string of them when it’s dark out . I have battery ones in the winter , but decided to change them this week , I had to come in to thaw out , I’ll Finnish tweaking them soon
The solar fountain is flinging water up in the air even though it’s raining !
Leggy sweet pea have survived being moved from Daughters sitting room to the greenhouse , in spit of her resistance

Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire, frost earlier and a cold wind, hopefully it will stay fine.
Had a nice lunch with MzOops yesterday just outside Bristol, she was staying nearby with friends and it was just off the motorway so easy for us too, she transferred loads of stuff for us to store, all now in the cabin at the bottom of the garden.
Crockery should be going tonight (hurrah) let’s hope she turns up.
Plumber coming back hopefully today to sort new loo as there is a problem somewhere and the new oil tank fancy shmanshy gauge is also playing up, however it sent me an email this morning with the correct reading, just the plug in thing in the kitchen that’s wrong.

Good morning from Glasgow. Grey, wet and windy weather. As I pulled up the bedroom blinds this morning the cat even had a look of disgust at the thought of another dreich day ahead.

A day of foutering around indoors it is then. Always plenty to keep me occupied depending on what mood takes me.

You are not alone WW I’m sure many of us have been hit with the odd flat day during this b….y awful miserable winter.
It takes a lot to bring me down but this winter has defeated many of us.
Having a quiet day makes good sense baubles I hope the stoma troubles you are having settle soon.

Today I will be continuing the Swedish death clean. As always I will do my usual physio exercises, taking care not to loose my balance! MrB has been to the supermarket and done the big shop, we may go to the farm shop tomorrow.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. I’m staying in today for a change and will give the music club a miss, I’m not on the desk either. Folk club yesterday and a late night. I fill the week with outings but occasionally come to a full stop…also the bitter wind is off putting, I’m so nesh.

Good morning from a very dark and grey East Midlands. I have some new wool which has just arrived and I will be starting to knit my cardigan this afternoon. Take care everyone.

Whitewave you're allowed to have 'down' days now and then, so wallow if you need to! My way out (it usually works) is to think of all the things I'm grateful for. It sometimes starts with 'OK, this chair is comfy enough I suppose (grudgingly) and can find me at the end of the exercise feeling so grateful for being able to live where I do and having such a wonderful family. Your cup is so obviously half full, so feel happy again soon x
