Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and wet start to the day here in brackley this morning.
Unsure as to going out as I am waiting a delivery of a HDMI cable for my BT/EE TV box and hopefully once I have downloaded things I can watch my cycling .
As to bus trip to Bicester at the moment depends on receipt of item .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a zero temp Durham. Heating is on.
Last day having Little Dog here - I’m not too sorry to see him go - 10 days is very tying. I’m meeting the DDs to eat at a local Chinese restaurant tonight, but my cough is no better, so that could be a problem. I’m staying over at DD1s and we’ll take DGS1 to swimming tomorrow. They’ve included me in their later plans, but I might give it a miss and just come home to cough in peace!
Hope the post-op boy is doing well and soon home.
Have a good day anyone celebrating for whatever reason.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a damp, grey South Yorkshire where snow is forecast this morning. Well the best laid plans of mice and landscape gardeners definitely ganged a’gley yesterday. They managed to get the old fence down and into a skip, but the weather was so appalling they called it a day just before lunch time! Didn’t even get the new posts in. Of course, by early afternoon, the sun was out🙄. Hey ho! A quiet day for me today but DD and the menfolk are coming over for a take away this evening, weather permitting.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, no snow I see although it was forecast for during the night, at least that’s what Alexa said!

Grandmabatty, what a fright you must have got about your poor wee grandson, I hope he is home today and none the worse for his experience. Thank goodness it was dealt with so promptly, you will all be shattered today.

Happy birthday Susan, enjoy your day.

Alygran, lovely pictures.

Lunch in Biggar today with two good friends and and a visit to the excellent butcher while I’m there. He has lovely steak pies and mince rounds which my DGC love, and they are all made on the premises so no additives and a clear conscience for me!

Yesterday’s WDP service was very moving. The service had been written over the past four years by a group of Palestinian women and it was so hard to read in the context of what is happening just now.

Good wishes to everyone for a pleasant day and needless to say, always remembering those needing support.

Good morning all,

We have snow showers forecast here, it's 3°C.

Happy birthday Susan enjoy your day. 🎂🎁🎈🎉

Your poor boy, GMB, I hope this is the end of his problems and he gets well quickly. He must have been in so much pain.

Hoping Mr C suffers no after effects from his fall and your daughter gets home Mizuna.

Today will be a catch up day, little got done yesterday between bouts of nausea and Babydoll's visit. However, I wouldn't change it for the world. Gosh, she is a determined wee besom and so strong. I think she may have secretly been lifting weights. 😉

Have a pleasant Saturday, everyone.

This made me smile and brought tears to my eyes. In the early 60's, my mum, sister and I went into town and stood outside of dress shops and mum would sketch the styles of the dresses we liked. We then went to the local market and chose different materials so she could make the dresses on her treadle Singer sewing machine. We wore them for the Saturday Jive night at the local town hall with all the net underskirts underneath them and our 4 ins heels. Fantastic memories.

AlwaysSmiling, are you new? If so welcome.
Did you mean to post on this thread, I'm trying to work out what made you smile.

Good morning all and it’s chilly here in Essex. Rain forecast for later.
DS1 coming again to dig up more old shrubs and we’ll pop out to another nursery to look for stepping stones.

I’ll pick up little DGD and take her to her dancing rehearsals. The show is in a few weeks, so lots of extra classes.

Yesterday we met our Friday friends in the countryside. The roads and fields are flooded badly, and we have more rain forecast.

Hoping to travel up to Suffolk tomorrow- we’ll see how Dh is feeling 🤔. All being well we’ll stay a few days. 🤞.

Grandmabatty get well wishes to your little chap.
Susan many happy returns 💐.
Good luck with your appointment Roseandlilac 🤞.
Mizuna hope all your AC are ok . We never stop worrying! ❤️.
Take care everyone and healing wishes to all poorlies, worried and anxious grans. 🌷

Good morning all from a very wet Black country.
Grandmabatty I hope the little one is home today so good it was dealt with quickly.
Roses my youngest brother lives your way has just sent a picture similar to yours.
I think it will be a stay at home today friends are coming this evening so we will go across to the club calling into the chippy on the way home.
Well usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

Liberty Sat 02-Mar-24 08:24:45

Sun again this morning in Suffolk but rain forecast later. DD1 in Bristol sent a video clip of snow in their garden and on the road and DD2 said there was a little in Hessle. Strange times weather wise.

Haven’t yet read your posts but skipped through to see news on Grandmabatty’s DGS1. Do hope he is home today and those with things to celebrate have a great day and those with worries a peaceful one.

Apart from a dog walk soon after porridge and fruit….along soggy paths and flooded fields we have no plans, I enjoy such days which usually involve reading and coffee and cake at home.

luluaugust Sat 02-Mar-24 08:26:19

Good morning from a wet W Kent, it is six degrees so quite warm compared to some of you. Shopping and ironing I think followed by a bit of tele.
Grandmabatty I hope your small grandson is home soon
Happy birthday Susan
Take care everyone waiting for appointments and dealing with problems.

Jaxjacky Sat 02-Mar-24 08:43:26

Morning from a chilly S Hants. Happy Birthday Susan 🎂🎉🥂, have a lovely day.
Grandmabatty I think you said your grandson had been bothered for a while with this? I hope he recovers quickly..
We’re going out for lunch, my first trip since the knee incident, meeting good friends, so if it’s too much, we can cut it short.
Thank you for my birthday good wishes yesterday, lots of flowers and cards, thoughtful gifts, with an Indian delivered for dinner.

Good morning all. It's a bright grey start on the Angus coast today, with rain forecast for later. Oh well, "in every life a little rain must fall" and all that 😉
Yesterday was what is fast becoming my usual Friday, just relaxing and doing whatever took my fancy with leftovers for my evening meal. I did my first tai chi in the garden for the year, which is a lovely experience in the sunshine with just the birds (and the fish of course!) for company.
So today I must get on. I haven't read any posts yet, so I wish happy celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries as appropriate and a better day today for those going through hard times just now. Take care x

hollysteers Sat 02-Mar-24 08:52:52

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside 2° northwest coast.
Lino cutting in art yesterday, not very successful. I’m not gifted at anything with a practical edge to it…
Will warble today as I haven’t practised for a little while.

Hope all goes well with your grandson Grandmabatty birthday greetings Susan and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

GrannySomerset Sat 02-Mar-24 08:56:14

Just a few miles south of Bristol there is no snow, for which I am grateful. Out to coffee later but no other plans. As others have noted, yesterday’s WorldDay of Prayer, written by Palestinian Christians, was particularly moving and thought provoking. Worrying times indeed.

Beechnut Sat 02-Mar-24 09:01:41

Good morning from a snowy sprinkle Severnside.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday Susan have a lovely day 🎉🎂

Off out to do some grocery shopping this morning as my friend stayed a long time yesterday and I didn’t want to go out when she left. She went off as pleased as punch as I’d helped her out with a couple of problems she had.

Have a good day all 🌧️🌺

aggie Sat 02-Mar-24 09:06:50

Good Morning from a bright cold Co Armagh
No snow here !
We had helicopters overhead last night , looking for burglars!
I put on all the outside lights and locked the side gate
Nothing planned for today
Thinking of all poorly Grans Children and Grandchildren 🕯️💐

BlueSapphire Sat 02-Mar-24 09:17:20

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton; more rain forecast today, and have no plans to go out.

Had two good dance classes yesterday, home for a quick lunch, then out on the bus to the shops. Have had to get something else for DS for his birthday as the ordered book has not arrived. It's a brand new book which I pre-ordered, publication date 23 Feb, but no sign of it yet. Will save it for Christmas when it arrives. Ended up with a cookery book (he does most of the cooking) and a nice t-shirt from Next.

Started watching the Cazalet Chronicles DVD last night, which I am really enjoying, but found I needed the family tree to hand so that I could place the characters!

Hope Saturday is good.for all.

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire after a very wet and windy night ( the weather, not me!)
I’ve a sore back today after doing quite a lot of packing, so today I’m having a rest, just some ironing to do.
GMB poor little mite, I hope he gets over the op very soon.
Susan have a lovely day today.
To all poorly grans 💐 and virtual hugs.

Blossoming Sat 02-Mar-24 10:59:17

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 5°C and raining lightly.

I’m relieved to hear your news of your DGS Grandmabatty and hope he is soon home and well. Happy Birthday to your DD.

Hope your daughter is soon home too Mizuna and they can get to the bottom of the problem.

Happy Birthday Susan56, sounds like a busy one with the family.

It’s many years since I have been up Skiddaw MOMB and it always seemed to be raining. We used to have a saying “If you can’t see Skiddaw it’s raining, if you can see Skiddaw it’s about to rain.”

Yesterday’s clear out made great progress and will continue today. Last night we watched a very interesting documentary series about the American civil war. We were very late to bed so had a long lie in.

Have a good day whatever you’re doing today 🌹

Morning Marydol. smile
I think, Alwayssmiling intended her post for the new thread entitled Embellished memories as I notice she's posted there too.
Wishing you a gentle weekend.

Kalu Sat 02-Mar-24 11:28:57

Good morning from Glasgow. No sign of the predicted heavy snowfall, in fact, the sun is shining which is a more pleasant start to the day.

Hopefully your GS will be home later today Grandmabatty and this procedure will see an end to any further concerns. Hope you feel better soon too
Gosh, you are busy with your adorable twins Bellasnana it’s wonderful to spend so much time with our GC but from memory, it was also exhausting.
A very Happy Birthday and many happy returns of the day Susan🎂
Don’t try to do too much catching up Marydoll, you must look after yourself too. I envy those babydoll cuddles you will be having.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant Saturday with kind thoughts for an easier day to all with their own worrying times.

Marydoll Sat 02-Mar-24 11:35:09

Kalu, she doesn't sit long enough to cuddle! I have never met such an inquisitive child.

She only sits still if you sing to her, there is a limit to the number of songs my failing memory can recall (especially in between the coughing! 🤣)
