Crime Fiction recommendations

Another vote for Simon MacCleave, Rebecca Tope, Elly Griffiths, Robert Bryndza; but also Jane Bettany, Ann Granger, and Robert Thorogood's Marlow Mysteries (now just shown on tv last week).
I enjoyed Susie Steiner's crime series (3 novels) as they were set in my neck of the woods.... sadly died too young.

Martina Cole. I have read all her books at least twice but they are a bit “gritty” so be warned 🫣

Janice Hallett, The Appeal. (2021)
Told through a series of emails and text messages, murder involving an amateur dramatic society, very clever.
Also; The Twyford Code (2022)
The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels (2023)

Quintin Jardine for me every time. Best read in sequence though. Think I'm up to No 30 now. Great.

Tim Sullivan has written about 5 books featuring Sergeant Cross and his long suffering partner Sergeant? Ottey. I found this series quite by chance. Detective Cross is a very odd character and it took me time listening to The Dentist before I sort of grasped his character- Maybe listen to a sample about one of these books ( I now have all of them) I hesitate to recommend although I love these books in case others cannot put up with the many talented although very odd detective Cross. Has anyone else read any of the books featuring him? I only listen on Audible.
