I think my cat may be broken........!

Weve had a melon skin eating cat.

Most cats are attracted to anything which smells and tastes sweet. Remember all the problems a few years ago with cats being poisoned by licking up spilled antifreeze that had a sweet taste?
Dates, KitKats, marmalade etc are probably very attractive to a cat with a strong sense of smell.

My Bengal cat is not a fruit eater but likes runner beans. I often sit at the dining table to prep my veg. She pesters me until I let her steal a bean to throw around before chewing on it.

When our twin daughters were quite young, we had 2 British Shorthair.

The Silver Tabby loved green melon and Persian Melon.

The Blue Cream adored sultanas (gold raisins) and dates without pits ..

Felines have a penchant for sweets occasionally.

One of my previous cats loved broccoli and would steal it off the children's plates, much to their glee so that they didn't have to eat it.

We had a cat when I was young that liked to lick the wrappers from mint chewing gum. My Dad would always have a pack of gum in his shirt pocket, and would save the wrappers for the cat.

My childhood cat loved Peas, but only if freshly picked and podded in front of him in the garden. Anyone going anywhere near our vegetable garden was followed with pitiful meows during fresh pea season!
Peas in the house in any form were just to be flicked distainly around for servents (normally me as 'it's your cat') to clear up. Drinking from the goldfish bowl, no interest in the fish, it was just his preferred drinking vessel.

What a beautiful cat. I’ve never known a cat eat fruit. It looks as if quite a few do though. Don’t know whether two dates would upset her stomach but probably not good every day. It’s very hard saying no to them.
All my cats used to enjoy sitting in a cardboard box with the lid on but easily able to be lifted off by them. One used to sit looking at the oven all the time the chicken was cooking, he wouldn’t budge.

We had a cat who would wait for you to look away then would pinch peas or pak choi from our plates. He didn't like sausages, but was rather partial to chicken. But he definitely loved peas and pak choi.
Looking after my friends dog, a Patterdale Terror, one day, she wanted a baby tomato. I'd brought them along to chomp on. She was given another after eating the first. That one seemed to last for quite some time, haha, until I realised the little minx had been helping herself to more from my bag!
My own dog at the time, a Staffy, was partial to Tunnocks Tea Cakes, too. He managed to get the box open and ate 4 of them with the wrappers on. Fortunately, he was fine!
My first dog, a little mongrel, absolutely refused dog food but wolfed down cat food. She knew the difference. She'd eat the chicken but leave the bones, and loved to lick the butter off the wrapper when mum opened a new pack. And she was very adept at cleaning her bowl of food and leaving the pill right in the middle of her, licked clean!
They all ate fruit, too.

My cat was brought up by a black lab so if anything drops on the floor, or sees you reaching down to pick something up, she's on it!

Favourite snacks include cheese, potato sticks/crisps, pasta and peanut butter.

Our first Siamese would have been in 7th heaven in Macdonald's, couldn't resist beef burger and chips! Current one tries to go for everything unsuitable, Christmas cake and pudding, lemon drizzle, biscuits, plants, washing up sponges... His pal has developed a craving for porridge!

I had a Siamese that would fight me for McDonalds fries.

One of our two will eat almost anything we eat, probably a sign of belonging or something. The other one will only eat its own food,much fussier. Guess which one has a coat so shiny you could see your face in it ? I think it is good for them to mix it up. Our late beloved cat lived well into his 20s , he was a wildling boy who would eat absolutely everything, came to us as a skinny stray.

Ours likes ice cream and cream and Bovril.

We had a cat we adopted as a kitten from a Greek family and he got hopelessly excited by olives. Would chase them round and round the kitchen, roll on them and eventually eat them .

I had a budgie growing up that would go mad if you had crisps until he got one, favourite’s was cheese and onion or salt and vinegar. Must have been good for him though because when he died my mum went back to the person we got him from and he was amazed that he had only recently died so remember to fed your budgie crisps lol

When I coujd have a cat - mine used to Nick sausages from your plate and liked to eat my home made buns - he was a large XL tabby who I adored 🐈

Felines are funny!

Our last cat loved cucumber and courgettes. I used to give him the ends of courgettes and the slice off the cut cucumber that was a bit dry. He always appeared if I prepared either of these.
When he developed an over-active thyroid he would eat anything. He once stole my toast and marmalade while I was distracted reading the morning paper. To our shame he went in a neighbour's house through their cat flap and helped himself to a birthday cake that had been left out in the kitchen. He then settled himself for a nap upstairs on one of their beds!
He also hunted outdoors and brought in all manner of prey. I once found a green feather on the stairs but never found out if anyone had lost a budgie. Thankfully after his thyroid was removed he stopped stealing our food but still hunted and loved cucumber.

We used to have a cat that loved sweetcorn. I was opening a tin of it and she came running in, I said you won't like it and gave her a bit. From then on she demanded some every time we had it.

Our moggie loved playing with with raw celery, raw green or red peppers and lightly-fried onion pieces. She would wait patiently when I was preparing meals, in the hope that I might accidentally drop some of these delectables onto the floor, where she would first play, then roll on them in a state of ecstasy. They were her substitute for catnip - in fact she ignored any catnip products I bought her. She also preferred to drink her water from a clean drinking glass instead of from her fancy ceramic bowl.

My neighbour had a cat that used to pinch ginger biscuits, he absolutley loved them.
