Good morning from a dry, windy Co Durham, although the sun is trying to break through.
GG13 your morning resembled mine. Made scrambled egg for 9yr dgd and sorted her packed lunch before walking to school. All very rushed as she was late arriving. She is off to York after school with her mum and dad to meet up with friends and do Yorvik museum. We have the pleasure (?) of the two gdogs for the weekend.

Morning everyone from a cloudy and windy Plymouth. Lots of fantastic optimism expressed this morning about their day’s planned activities, and a few less so… such is life and the way we see best to manage it all at the time.

DH and I have just returned from a week in Cornwall (our caravan site opened for the season for certain statics). DH tripped over the coffee table there and we’ve spent a couple of sessions at the local MIU for dressings of a rather spectacular shin scrape as a result. Whilst he’s putting on a brave face, I think it shook him rather, bless him. Back to MIU and caravan on Monday.

I’ve a weekend course for “beginners to sewing” this weekend, so will be prepping for that, as well as lots of laundry and repacking today. I’m looking forward to this new hobby.

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Yesterday's early start meant I had all the washing and ironing done by mid afternoon. I was able to put my feet up and was going to read my book but tablet kept pinging with messages which kept me busy until dinner time.

Good morning from a grey dreich Angus coast. Looking ahead on my weather app it seems the sun might peep through the cloud and drizzle sometime on Sunday, but if not, not until the 19th! I'll definitely be glad to see it by then!
So sorry to hear about your DD's friend Susan. That is tragic.
Mick, much as I know you love going out and about, it doesn't sound as if it's doing you much good just now. Perhaps wait for a sunny day? Then you'll enjoy it that bit more. Not long now until you have the wall-to-wall sunshine of summer!
The end of winter blues seem to have hit many gnetters just now, particularly those who live where this winter the rain, wind and black skies have been relentless, but there's plenty of sunshine coming your way (zippity doo dah 😉☀️). Is there anyone else who remembers that song?
Bellasnana it's a shame your DD is taking you for granted like that. But she knows how much you love looking after your two little grandsons and probably has no idea how tiring it is for you and how much you need your weekends. Perhaps a little bit of a conversation is required? As they grow older they're not going to grow easier!
I had another surprise visit yesterday from Dancing GD. She's fast approaching the end of her degree year and at the moment is carrying out placements in various areas of dance therapy. The one she was supposed to attend fell through yesterday so another was found near me for 6pm, giving her an afternoon to fill in - the best "Nanny Therapy"!
Today is hair cut day for me - much needed as I'm beginning to look like the mad professor! I shall meet up with my niece for a coffee and catch up beforehand, and then a pop into M&S foods on the way up home. Sounds like a good day to me!

Good morning everyone from yet another grey and dull day in Northampton, set to remain so all day.
It did brighten up a bit yesterday, but there was a bitterly cold wind which I felt while waiting at the bus-stop. Got everything I needed at the shops, including a nice top to go with my long skirt; will do nicely on my cruise.

Two dance classes this morning, then a few of us are going for coffee afterwards. As it will be lunchtime by then may have a bite to eat.

The.fencing men came yesterday morning to see what they could do with my ramshackle garden fence - there was much sucking of teeth and sharp intakes of breath at the state of it; I await their quote with much trepidation..... However, I know they will do a good job, as I have used them before.

Pleasures were mixed in RHS garden coach trip yesterday, the wind was biting and the garden of course not yet at its best. The history of the now demolished mansion and gardens interesting though. I bought postcards as I enjoy keeping in touch with people that way. The ubiquitous shops in these places are always tempting…

Off to art now and we are going out for a meal to celebrate a birthday amongst us.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle, sun and cloud here at the moment. I think the weekend weather is shaping up to not be good.
I went out and scrubbed some of my patio slabs yesterday, marked where pots and trays had stood. I was surprised by how much algae came off too, it hadn't been very noticeable. This morning the cleaned slabs stood out, they're like new! I might have to have a go at the rest in time.
Today, not too much...I had a poor night's sleep, having been woken with acid indigestion in the early hours. I do have to go out late morning as I have a lunchtime appointment with the dentist. An awkward time for me but unavoidable, he only does 2 days a week. This afternoon will be gentle, probably reading my book.

Mick, it is not uncommon to feel breathless, in cold and foggy weather, when you have heart issues.
Be sensible and take precautions. Either don't go out if it is foggy or if you must, as has been said, wear a mask or a scarf round your face.

Gwen, time for some intervention?. I hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Ash, you are understandably disappointed at the appointment postponement. I'm afraid it's common now in the NHS. My urgent RA appointment from last year has been cancelled three times. I'm not holding my breath for next Friday.

Susan, such sad news. Your family are having a difficult time at the moment.

Grandmabatty, the theatre was so enjoyable, apart from having to evacuate when the fire alarm went off. Everyone thought it was part of the showing!☹ It just added to the excitement.
I haven't laughed so much in ages!
A delicious Italian lunch with Babydoll (the human dustbin) and her parents, an adventure on the train and a black cab, because I was struggling to walk.
The ticket clerk at the station intervened, because we were like country bumpkin trying to decide if our travel pass was valid for concession rail tickets, because we were in a different L.A

On our return, I found two parcels in my arbour seat. One was beautiful red roses (my favourite flowers) from DD and SIL for Mothering Sunday. 😍
The postman had left a card to alert me. On the card he had written, Nice new car!
I literally fell into bed, I'm still exhausted this morning. However, it was the best day for ages, such a tonic and seeing both my darling girls and achieving something was an added bonus.

This morning I need to do a supermarket shop, but am apprehensive about driving my car. DH has cancelled his golf, to accompany me. He is my rock. 😉

Good morning Mick and all. Take care Mick in this very cold weather, and some good advice given to you. I must say those old fashioned balaclavas were good for face coverings, but perhaps not the look you are going for.
The bathroom/ shower room now on the final furlong, and should be finished today YAY!! I know it will have only been 3 days, but oh the disruption. I am in awe of our neighbour who has just started on a big extension, and they have a nearly teenager and twins of 5+, so dread to think of the logistics 🫣
Bellasnana, how unkind of your daughter to expect even more childcare, using your precious Saturday. You must put your foot down very firmly.
I will miss my usual Friday coffee morning with friends, but never mind. Nothing planned for today, except to get things back to normal.

Another lovely morning though I hope the cloud won’t take over like it did yesterday. Still feeling upset over the cat debacle but must put it behind me because, as the vet put it, I have nothing to feel guilty about. Out to lunch with a friend, which will be lovely.

Goodness, Bellasnana, I think you need to get some guidelines in place. You giving up the childcare because you have become ill won’t help anyone and you need a life too, however much you adore the boys. And they will become more demanding physically as they get older, and two are more than twice the work!

Good morning from a dull Black Country, where it will hopefully brighten up later

5 mile walk yesterday, then onto Mums. Her Telecare alarm was fitted and she has to wear a pendant around her neck. Of course she was anxious and kept saying 'what if I press it accidently? You just tell the operator that it was a mistake! But she repeated this at least 6 times, phew!

No real plans today aside from gym, and ring audiology, as at the moment one hearing aid isn't working! Tried the usual looking for a blockage, and puffing air out. It makes such a difference only operating on one aid.

Bellasnanna I think someground rules need to be established. ie No childminding at weekends, unless a dire emergency! I think you do more than enough.

Susan56 that is so upsetting.

Of course you are miffed Bellasnana and disappointed at your DD3 asking even more of you.
Such sad circumstances for this young family Susan. Life can be so cruel on such occasions.

It's my Friday shift at the community store this morning. Podiatrist afterwards and then preparing beds and cooking dinner for my new Helpers who arrive this evening.

I agree Mick; either give the cold air a miss or cover your mouth in a mask or scarf.

Good morning from another lovely sunny Suffolk. I’m hoping the chilly wind of yesterday evening has disappeared.

DGD2 who lives in Bristol and is 16 broke her ankle yesterday playing netball. She is a brave soul and ever cheerful but needed lots of messages last evening! Her bedroom is at the top of their house and the flight of stairs to her room,effectively an attic,is steep and twisty. She was worried about managing with her crutches. Haven’t heard from her yet so we are hoping she’s still asleep and has had a restful night. No riding her pony though for 6 weeks…her biggest disappointment.

We have a quiet day today as DH off tomorrow with DDinL to Crufts and a very very early start! Hope today is a pleasant one for all especially those with worries or unwell.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy again.
I got into the garden for a while yesterday and did some much needed tidying up. Hopefully it will stay fairly dry over the next few days and I’ll be able to get more done when I am back after the weekend.
Off to DD’s today. She is working till 2 so no point setting off till late morning. It will be good to see the family.

Off to the gym first thing, a quick cup of tea with gym pals afterwards. Then it’s home time. School pick up afterwards time for a shower and hair wash, put on the glamour ready for going out to dinner with two sons and their families for an early Mothering Sunday treat.

I’ve had ‘a week and a half’ dealing with my hypochondriac friend - I’m convinced she has Munchausens.
Meanwhile, I’m still coughing although it’s getting a bit more productive.
Coffee with a friend this morning then a Mothers Day thing at DD2’s nursery. DD2 is in Glasgow, so I’m substitute.

Chimney sweep this morning, more bloods to be taken midday and housework today.
I tidied out the greenhouse on Wednesday, I’d like to sell it but no interest so far for my Facebook advert so will advertise more widely. I’d like a summerhouse instead so will see how things go.
