Good Morning Everyone,
Dark and wet outside here in brackley this morning.
A quiet day in today , with cycling on TV from midday, so will lunch early .
Yesterdays trip went OK , no road problems to hold up the bus , met up with some friends as the weather improves hopefully expand my travel on a Saturday if not on a day trip on a coach .
Take Care,
Mick

Happy Mothering Sunday to all the mums here. 🌹
Good morning from Bristol. It looks like it might be dryish today. I missed a sudden shower by moments first thing yesterday! The wind is still very cold.
Spent the coffee morning time making up some of the 150 odd posies for the service today. The choir was practicing, was very loud indeed. They may have been using the sound system, but it made conversation hard to follow.
Today, not my utter astonishment, DD has invited me to lunch. It is the first time a celebration is being followed for me. I consider it a church festival not a family one, so normally don’t take much notice. DS sent me good wishes too.
I hope no one ends up lonely and sad at having been forgotten today. Have a peaceful day. Carpe diem, Carpe horam 🦩🦩🦩

Happy Mothering Sunday everyone from a damp North Wales coast- I can hear birdies tweeting under their umbrellas ☔️ while I top up the chamberpot ☕️ 😂

Had a delicious lunch in Llandudno with DD and DGD yesterday 😋 accompanied by lashings of rose 🥂 and trotted home on the bus ( a little tiddly, truth be told 😱) promptly fell asleep and missed most of the rugby 🏉….! Will have to be better behaved this afternoon when 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 are trying to rescue a dire season so far!

Have a peaceful Sunday and 💐 to all with their challenges x

Good morning from Cornwall where it's dark and rainy so I've snucked back to bed instead of out to my patio. Will stay at home today and enjoy being visited by my sons at some point, separately, which is a treat in itself. I want to find out more about the abandoned mines the eldest one explores. The youngest is fun company and I can guarantee he will bring me an unusual ale or two.

My eight-year-old granddaughter asked for two egg boxes yesterday and trundled off to my art room where she amused herself creating monster heads. I love that she knows where everything is and can happily potter on her own.

Thoughts for those for whom Mothering Sunday brings sadness, not delight.

Good morning from a soggy Torbay following several hours of rain and a Happy Mothering Sunday to all mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, godmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers……et al!

Our Coffee Morning at church was well attended and included our local MP and his wife. He does try to be a good constituency MP.

I’m playing the piano for the early service today.

Have a blessed Mothering Sunday. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from darkest South Lanarkshire. I can hear the wind but as yet no rain.

Today DD and I are accompanying DGD1 and her cousin on a jaunt to Edinburgh. Nothing to do with Mothering Sunday but because DGD turns fourteen tomorrow and the girls would like to shop. Hopefully we’ll find somewhere to have a bite to eat.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Malta where it’s is extremely windy but a warm 22°C.

Baggs I’m so very sorry my post yesterday upset you. Please accept my apologies.💐

Well, I’m with the boys again, their daddy had to go to work so it was another very early start for me. Fortunately they are very good little souls.

Happy Mothering Sunday to all. We have to wait until May here for Mothers Day.

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

Happy Mothering Sunday to all those who celebrate.
I peeked out of the window just now and West Oxfordshire is grey and damp.
My daughter is here and brought me chocolate goodies. We are going out for lunch later to my favourite restaurant.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from Inverness, where it’s grey and damp and has been raining overnight
Hoping everyone celebrating Mother’s Day today has an enjoyable time with family
Yesterday turned out to be much better than expected, we didn’t have any plans so booked last minutr tickets to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the theatre in Inverness - we really enjoyed ourselves and the show was brilliant. Today DD2 and the DGC are coming round for a home-made afternoon tea, I’m providing the sandwiches and she’s bringing the cakes. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone, no doubt the DGC will want to play lots of games so it should be a full on day
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Happy Mothering Sunday, from a wet Oxfordshire.

It was a lovely day yesterday so the lawn had its first cut, plenty of moss, not many blades of grass and still quite wet, but it looks so much better than before,

Have a good day everyone, hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.

brook2704 Sun 10-Mar-24 07:28:42

So true LucyAnna thank for sharing

Happy Mother’s Day from Cambridgeshire. Hoping everyone has a good day and thinking of those for whom this may be a difficult day.

Thinking too of my lovely mum who is no longer here ❤️

Planning a quiet family day with DH, DD and GC having a lunch out and back to play games. Labyrinth is the favourite at moment😂

Good morning from Glasgow. No beautiful sunrise, just a grey dreich day again.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers on here. DD1 and the girls are visiting this afternoon and at some point DD2 and SiL will FaceTime to join us. This is when I really appreciate modern technology. Although many miles away, this technology allows us to get together regularly enough for me to forget the miles between us.

Waitrose done yesterday but I had forgotten how busy the store is at the weekend with so many visitors.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant Sunday and hopefully some respite for those with worries and struggles.

Good morning from a wet Essex coast, a bit different to yesterday's sunny start.
We had a great time last night at the yacht club's race night, although we didn't get to bed til after midnight.
DH has rugby with the boys this morning, I shall prepare a roast. This afternoon is the big match, Liverpool v Manchester City, we will be watching.
Happy Mother's Day to you all xx

Pittcity Sun 10-Mar-24 07:44:37

Good morning from rainy Colchester.
I was having a lie in when I was woken by texts wishing me Happy Mother's Day. I don't hold much store by these days as I feel it's too commercial and that LucyAnna hit the nail on the head.
There are cards and presents downstairs for me though.
DH and I will spend the day quietly and I'll ring my Mum, although she won't want to chat as she never does.
I sound a bit miserable reading this back, but I'm fine really.
Love to all 🦩 x

BlueSapphire Sun 10-Mar-24 07:46:28

Thank you LucyAnna. Thinking of all on Mothering Sunday.

Good morning everyone from a very wet East Northants at DD's.
Enjoyed yesterday at the rugby; it was perfect weather, but we lost the match. Still, it gave a lot of the young lads/second team a run-out.

Came back to DD's where we had a take-away and watched the two Six Nations matches back to back. Good nail-biting final minutes in both!

DD has band practice this morning, then we hope to spend a couple of hours shopping at Rushden Lakes.

I shan't see DS today as he and the DGDs will of course be spoiling my DD-out-law. But he called in yesterday morning with flowers and a card.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

kittylester Sun 10-Mar-24 07:46:56

Good morning all from a, currently, dry but grey North Leicestershire. We have rain in the forecast.

Not a lot happening here today. Some lovely cards and small presents have been left here by all the children and DH and I are having a pre-prepared shepherd's pie for dinner.

Have the best day possible everyone.

luluaugust Sun 10-Mar-24 07:48:40

Happy Mothering Sunday from a wet W Kent. Haircut yesterday followed by visit from DD2 with beautiful flowers. We had a catch up chat. Off to DS and DIL for lunch today.
Best wishes to all

Greyduster Sun 10-Mar-24 07:54:04

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. Yesterday stayed dry. I did a couple of fiddly jobs that have been niggling at me for a while - one of which was scrubbing all the moss off the garden wall where it had really got a hold in this mild wet winter. Not sure how I’ll keep it from coming back.
DD and the menfolk will be here this afternoon, but DS is not coming down until next week. No doubt he’ll phone today.
Have the best day you can, folks.

karmalady Sun 10-Mar-24 07:58:43

Good morning, wet and sunny right now in s somerset

I tried a body pillow last night as I am a side sleeper, takes the pressure off my hips. It was a waste of time, kept me awake and was too hot. I might try again tonight, with a cooler bed and if I am kept awake again I will bag it and stuff it under a bed

Pottering today, whatever comes my way

Have a good day

Whitewavemark2 Sun 10-Mar-24 08:09:42

Good morning from the South Downs. Rain today so not a lot happening here.

DH is not best pleased as he has been nurturing 6 cabbage plants for early summer eating and he went up to put them back into the greenhouse last night (hardening off) and a mouse has eaten the lot! Oh dear. What with that and Tofu digging up the seedlings - life is very fraught at times.

I have to make the decision as to whether to take statins or not, after a health check showed my cholesterol to be higher than they like. I take no medication at all, but I have put on weight since my gall bladder removal - almost certainly because I’m eating food I couldn’t previously eat. So - do I try to reduce it by diet, exercise etc or take medication?. I have a week to think about it - I wonder if the nurse would play ball and go with the diet for a time?

Decision, decisions!

Enjoy your day one and all - I hope any offspring have remembered the day😄😄 and you are duly delighted. I received a card last Tuesday from one of them 😀.

Peace and harmony to all mothers who have lost their children.

Susan56 Sun 10-Mar-24 08:14:56

Good morning from Shropshire where I can hear heavy rain against the windows.

Happy Mothering Sunday to all💐

We went to the hospice yesterday evening so DD could spend time with her friend.Sadly she died in the early hours of this morning.Even though we knew it would be soon we feel in shock.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Bonnybanko Sun 10-Mar-24 08:16:45

Good morning everyone from a cold and windy start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. To all those mothers hope you’re all being spoiled by your children like I’ve been unfortunately my family can5 be with me today, however I’ve received beautiful flowers and a fabulous bracelet.

Have a good day mums all around 💓💓💓

RosesandLilac Sun 10-Mar-24 08:20:13

Good morning, ‘tis rainy and dull here in south Glos.
DD says she’s coming for the day, I haven’t seen her for several months so that’s lovely. I asked DH to arrange for a takeaway dinner from the pub but I’m not sure what they do vegetarian-wise so I will probably end up cooking anyway.
Nothing else planned.
Have a lovely day 🌹
