I gather it's a tradition now for Catherine to release a nice family pic on that Sunday (I hadn't noticed). What did she do, add on those hands to make them look more together?? Oh, Lord (the Lords of other faiths are probably available too . . .), shock horror, the planet could stop spinning.

Oh, and did someone mention the Press have strict rules? Didn't stop the Mail publishing some vile twaddle about the recently deceased Hairy Biker, did it? (etc etc).

Oh for the days when you took photos and either sent the film off or took it to Boots to be developed and hoped the photos turned out ok and not blurred or heads cut off.

Why can't the press just say it's a lovely photo which it is . Why analysis it ?

I remember those days, Boots wrecked the two films I took of DD when she was a baby, so we had none of her early weeks.

We don’t know if the PoW is up and about. Why should we? It isn’t anyone else’s business unless she decides to share it.

If the operation was a success but recovery was taking a while, there’d be comments in the media about how the RF can afford to have a longer recuperation.
I doubt they think we’re all fools-nosy, yes, intrusive, yes but not fools.

This photo is wrong in so many ways and has been withdrawn. Catherine admitted to editing it. However, did she also edit out her wedding and engagement ring no one seems to have commented on as they are missing. Very dishonest of them trying to dupe us all into believing she is up and about. Do they think we are all fools.

I agree Mollygo but the Princess has been let down by her advisors over this.
I think the Prince & Princess have tried too hard to keep her illness under wraps and this has only increased speculation,
The King has handled things in a much more open and acceptable way.

What a preposterous fuss about nothing - this isn't a photo being used in evidence for legal proceedings, and if the Princess of Wales has tinkered with the photo to improve it, does that pass the 'So what' test? I think it does.

Your faith is whatever the RF tell you is charming Annie, but please don't let it blind you to what others are trying to say. I have no issue at all with their desire to keep the PoW health matters private, but if you look at my original post, I was contrasting this with the information (and thanks) coming out of Buckingham Palace. This photo has made what was a rumbling problem become even more of one, has fired up the conspiracy theories (not my concern, or interest), and as such was a mistake.

No, of course not! But, even the most ardent royalist has to agree that this is a Kensington Palace PR disaster.

Yes, it all comes down to trust.

Some people trust no one.

Some people continually trust every one, and every thing.

Some think trust has to be earned.
Personally I would say that up to now, William and Kate have barely put a foot wrong in that regard. Or not at all.
But something feels a bit off with all of this. To me. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe it will all blow over quickly.

Yes, they are entitled to their private life, yes William will want to spend more time with his family, but are we really to believe that due to his wife's post operative recovery that he is going to Sainsbury's, taking the children to after school activities? I wish them all well, but please don't take us for fools, this photograph was a PR disaster, and the photo agencies were correct to reject them as they have to protect their professional credibility.
