I don't 'follow' him, i only know about him when he and wife appear on my news feed, but I ask myself what the chuff is going on with his wife's attire? Or lack of it

May be she is a masochist. It is possible.

Dickens I totally agree. Those men and boys who have Andrew Tate as their hero. If he is stilll on-line I would imagine he is promoting this big-time.

She may have a 'Masters' in, well, whatever it is - but she lacks the ability to think intelligently.

Otherwise she'd be able to see the message that most people are getting from her 'porn-star', and his 'thug-life' outfits. Him being fully-clothed emphasises his power over her near-naked body.

Unless she's being forcibly paraded around - which I doubt, her parents are near at hand to rescue her if necessary, she's colluding with the Andrew-Tate-School-of-Misogyny. But is too dumb to understand it, or too desperate for 'fame' to care.

Dickens I don't know what constitutes 'public decency'- I assume that as long as intimate body parts are not on display, there's no rule that says you can't "flaunt" acres of flesh?

But what constitutes 'intimate parts', sideboob, underboob, nipples, her whole bottom? She has revealed all those, just maybe not all at the same time. The only bit that maybe hasn't been exposed is the tiniest bit between her legs (and I'm not sure about that because she did wear a see-through mac). So how much more can she reveal without being arrested? I just think the Police are too scared to confront him. People like Trump and West have huge numbers of followers so who will be brave enough to control them.

But what constitutes 'intimate parts'...

Well quite Chestnut!

It does seem that the police are intimidated by their - what? Fame? Perhaps one has to be completely naked to get arrested?

I wonder if some 'ordinary' black man-in-the-street strolling around a shopping mall, or wherever, with his wife or girlfriend dressed similarly would get away with it? I think not. It seems that West does not have to abide by the same obligations as the rest of his peers.

Anyway, presumably, it would be her that would be arrested - he is, after all, carefully clothed from head to foot - sometimes even obscuring his face with a mask!

It's bizarre to say the least. And, frankly, I think these deliberate appearances actually put women in general in danger. There are so many men with weird ideas about women - misogynist ideas - who will be 'encouraged' to treat women as sexual objects.

Is he a Ferengi?

I have never been particularly interested in Kanye West but reading this thread did prompt me to look him up.

What is Bianca thinking of getting hooked up with that awful man - she is simply displayed as a possession, a trophy or whatever ..........but it is so wrong!

Does she have no self-respect, no sense of decorum?

If she were my daughter I would be wrapping her up and taking her home.

Unfortunately, with his following and associations, he's potentially dangerous.

But at times her private parts are on display, or attention is directed towards their almost unovered state.

And of course there is the notorious event in Venice when he was photoed with his trousers down and her head in his lap while being transported around the city in a gondola.

He has been banned from using gondolas in Venice and there was talk of a prosecution metro.co.uk/2023/09/04/kanye-west-banned-boat-exposing-bum-italy-19441640/

I admit to not having seen all the photo's!

That incident on the gondola was obscene.

What is he trying to prove? What message does she think she's giving out (I'm not convinced she's miserable - I believe she's portraying self consciousness whilst attempting to look "cool" and indifferent to the photographers and public staring at her)?

I cannot state what I actually think he's doing parading around with her half naked, because I'd probably get the comment deleted. Suffice to say it figures in rap-culture which is, frequently, bathed in misogyny, and where women are referred to as part of the normal parlance, as "bitches".

He's written at least one book.
His mother was an American educator and chair of Chicago State University's Department of English, Communications, Media, and Theatre. His father was a black panther and a noted photo-journalist.
I watched the documentary (thank you Chestnut for the link) it's thought provoking as Kanye has 30 million+ followers and is fighting back after having been 'cancelled' for anti-Semitism. Also emphasised he's supposedly bi-polar.

But presumably didn't read what he was writing 🤣🤣🤣

He's a big sham.

They are both sickos. Celebrity trash.
He's lost his fortune and they've both lost their minds.

I wish that the countries or events that this weird couple visit would stand up and be brave enough to ban her walking about like that and say it is against public decency or something. It is just horrendous.

If Mr or Miss 'average' walked around dressed similarly, many would just stare and snigger - but with the Press following them it appears to have a 'magic' effect. Celebrities really can get away with behaviour that indulged in by the rest of us, would not be tolerated.

Just to get back to Bianca for a moment. the latest article has another picture of her virtually naked again, while he is fully covered. (I refuse to click on the article because I don't want to encourage them). My point is that all these pictures have been taken during the winter months, and she must be absolutely frozen walking around like that. So does she want to participate in this freak show or is he in control? I guess we may know one day but not yet.

'Celebrities' who push the boundaries - or become celebrities because of it - will always attract "followers".

Personally, I'm all for it - if the protagonist has something meaningful to offer (and yes, I know that what is meaningful to me is subjective).

However, tweeting to his followers that he was going death con 3 on Jewish people; and suggesting that African-American slavery was a "choice" made by black people who were forcibly shipped from Africa to the US in the 17th-19th centuries - you could be forgiven for questioning the mentality of his 30 million followers. And not being as impressed as it appears we're supposed to be by the number of them.

Also, boasting about never having read a book, in effect dismissing centuries of authors - some of whose minds were and are far superior to his, indicates a complete lack of self-awareness coupled with stunning arrogance.

So what is his talent? As a rap-artist, he's creative and novel (if you like that kind of thing) - but he's not the bloody Messiah - which is how he seems to see himself!

I suspect the book he wrote was ghost-written.

Personally, I prefer our own Professor Green as a rap artist whose "Read All About It" with Emeli Sande examines his abandonment by, and later suicide of, his father. This led him to be part of a very moving TV programme which explored the reason behind the biggest killer of men under 45 - suicide.

Of course, that's just a personal preference. But it does make me question what, exactly, Kanye West has done to garner so much approval.

Bridie22 Fri 22-Mar-24 09:50:54

Personally I can't quite see that displaying your wife as a public clothes horse( or lack of clothes ) is fighting back, it just invites more criticism, may that is his goal?
Bi Polar or not, the sex act they performed on a public boat trip in France should have been prosecuted!

M0nica Fri 22-Mar-24 08:31:25

Nothing you write, OldFrill excludes dyslexia. It is a disability found as much among the highly educated as not.

As for 'fighting back' after be accused of anti-semitism. Anti-semitism is unacceptable whether the perpetrator is black, white or sky-blue purple.. If he was doing or saying anything anti-semitic, then he was rightly cancelled. Being bipolar is not an adequate excuse either.

Yes, he could but why not say that instead of boasting about not reading books and denigrating authors.
All authors as if they are homogenous.

M0nica Thu 21-Mar-24 19:35:28

He could have dyslexia.

Callistemon21 Thu 21-Mar-24 12:03:44

People don't have to be intellectual to be manipulative and cunning.

Yes, good point.
Rich, and hasn't even read a book, nor even looked at the pictures..
So, is he thick?

He knows how to prosper in the 21st century world, work the media and fool his fans into thinking he's a genius (which they do).

Last year I watched a weird and fascinating programme about him called 'The Trouble with KanYe' on BBC2 presented by Mobeen Azhar (a British Asian/Muslim journalist). It is still on iPlayer for anyone interested.
