What cheered you up today

Spending time with my sister in her new home, and helping to choose plants for her pretty courtyard garden. 🌺

Getting a lovely WhatsApp message from my 12 year old granddaughter, saying how much she loves me and how thankful she is that I'm her Granny

Mum and dad were out so I was 'babysitting' my 13 year old grandson. "If it's a choice between going out with mum and dad or hanging out with grandma I know what I'd rather do - love you grandma" he said

I don’t imagine many people would get this but I was driving towards a supermarket car park exit last night when the delivery lorry came in. It drove right up to my car (I had obviously stopped) and I got to watch it manoeuvre reversing up to the hatch. Then he put his hand up to thank me. I wanted to thank him! And yes, I am on the autistic spectrum 😁 I had a silly grin all the way home.

Beautiful early sunshine, ruined quickly by heavy rain but - a lovely new gardener who will be helping to get my very large and difficult garden under control, and the large amount of grass cut, which seems to grow as I watch it!!

My son arrived late last night for a quick stopover. A most lovely start to this morning. He's gone now but his short visit was a shot in the arm for me. Today can't get much better but....who knows?!!

A paradise of Spring flowers

One of my daughters phoned to ask if I would like to go away on holiday to Morocco with them.
I had booked to visit another daughter this week, fortunately the dates don’t clash.

Three things - a new bra that actually fits and is comfortable (miss Mary of Sweden), finding a mouth spray from the chemist which has pretty much cleared my mouth ulcers overnight, and a nasal spray which has dried up my drippy cold overnight. So physically I am in a much happier place.

I've just discovered this morning how to drizzle melted chocolate neatly over a cake I baked yesterday. It's taken me 60 years to figure it out. Happy gran.

Being asked by my son and his partner to go to a 3D scan of their baby due in May.Getting there with babies two sisters and the 4 year old asking "is it an Alien granny" I struggled to stop laughing.To be honest she was more interested in the soft toys with baby's heart beat than the pictures on the screen.The new baby looks exactly like her sisters who are gorgeous girls .

An unexpected hug from 2 year old DGS who insisted on getting out of the car so he could do so.

Spring sunshine, a potter round the farm shop and then new season asparagus for my lunch, with bacon and a couple of eggs. Very nice.

Though windy, it was bright and lovely for our Marlow walk today. The other half was cheerful ( not always guaranteed) and the DD sent pictures of her and the DGD in Salisbury where they stopped off on the way to Devon. My Magnolia is in bloom and the garden is looking very nice. Birds are singing and there is home made coffee cake for tea. A lot to be thankful for.

I have been wondering what to give my husband for his 80th Birthday & had an inspiration,bring our very loved granddaughter home from University for his Birthday,now all arranged she is coming for a week & we pick her up on the morning of his Birthday,17 in immediate family & everyone will be ecstatic.
I sent the money for her flight & can’t stop smiling,he will be thrilled.

Spring comes early in Britain - but not in my US state - we had an eight inch of snow ❄️ yesterday. While it was pretty and started melting fast, I’d much rather see flowers 🌷 and butterflies 🦋.

Today we have glorious sunshine ☀️, blue skies, and warmer temps to chase away winter.
Every little bit helps!

Seeing a younger neighbour going out with a baby strapped to his chest and pulling his two preschoolers in one of those kind of canvas trailers with his right hand and holding a very boisterous dog on a lead in his left hand. Wondering if he will come back in tangles. 🙂

I went for a shower this am and forgot to shut the dog-gate, so our dog immediately took up residence spread out horizontally across the bed.
What cheered me ip about that?
When DH called out to me in the bathroom, “What’s black and white and spread all over?”

Unexpectedly meeting ex-colleagues in the M&S Cafe, having coffee and a good catch-up with them.

Getting into the garden to pot up some annual plants. So good to see the lovely colours of primroses on the patio.

I have 3 things that have brought me cheer today.

1. Being in a shop that I haven't been in for over 7 years, brought lovely memories back.

2. I was in a supermarket ( after the shop ) and in much need for sitting down ... the seat that was for the public to take rest was occupied so I spotted a stack of numerous can of Pepsi and parked my derriere on those, boy ohhhh boy did THAT cheer me up.

3. Being with my grandchildren today and sat sipping coffee with my daughter.

Giggling with my daughter who just rang me in absolute stitches. Because she's blind she uses a speech facility called Siri on her phone to send text messages and usually checks them before she sends them because Siri is very sensitive and can pick up other sounds. Today she didn't check and sent a sympathetic text to a friend whose mum is poorly, without realising that it was interwoven with a news report from the BBC, which Siri had picked up from the telly in the background. So the message was complete gobbledygook. Her friend found it hilarious.
