Taichinan - Yes, I know. I have had a night to sleep on it and I would be happy for his and his partner if they did decide to move. Yes, holidays in the sunshine. Spain is better than Australia for distance. Thank you for your kind words.

Taichinan Mon 25-Mar-24 11:36:45

grammaretto what a priceless excuse reason for losing a post!
Grannyaschjd enjoy it! Never will there be a more perfect scarecrow! And the pride in our grandchildren never goes away - my oldest is nearly 30 and a father himself now - and do you know, no grandson has ever produced a more wonderful baby 😉!
Purplepixie I hope you're feeling less troubled today - remember that was just a thought your DS was voicing and not a fait accompli. But even if he did move to Spain, think of all those lovely holidays ......

Thanks for the sympathy Baubles and Stilllearning 😛
No skin broken Grandmabatty I think it was a newly fledged crow.
But thanks for the reminder.
I wondered if it had to do with the full moon.......

Birds quite often fall down that chimney.

Thinking of Urms and her DH today.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy damp Lancashire, currently 7°C.

We enjoyed the unexpected sunshine over the weekend. We are forecast rain for most of this week. I was exhausted last night after spending 2 days out and about at the steam gala. It was great fun but a few days of pottering about at home will be welcome. I managed to get some photos with my new iPhone, looking forward to sorting and editing those on my iPad today though I suspect many will go straight in the bin!

What a lovely thing for your granddaughter to say Mizuna, her injury sounds very painful.

Thinking of Urmstongran and Himself today.

Happy Monday everyone whatever you’re doing 🌻

Good morning from the NE where it is grey and wet.
Lovely afternoon and evening with DD and SIL. She worked for half the day on the computer in preparation for all day meetings today.
We made dinner together, a vegetable tikka masala, it was very tasty and we had no alcohol lager with it.
This evening GD2 is off to France on holiday, look forward to hearing all about it.
Quiet day for me as I was up during the night with stomach ache.
Have a good day.

grannyaschjd22 Mon 25-Mar-24 09:47:35

Good Morning All!!!!
I have woken up in a fantastic mood this morning. I am going to see my youngest grandson Bobby in his first school show today!! He plays the SCARECROW!!! I could not be prouder of my precious peanut! It is a beautiful day today in Merseyside. I hope everyone has a lovely day
Lots of love xxxx

Stilllearning Mon 25-Mar-24 09:34:13

Only you Grammaretto!

luluaugust Mon 25-Mar-24 09:24:15

Gala and Oops good job you are not Lanzarote's advertising team! I hope you both feel better soon as possible.

Grandmabatty Mon 25-Mar-24 09:21:24

Grammaretto your tale of woe regarding the crow sounds funny but if it broke the skin, you might need a tetanus jag. Better check.

Tink75 Mon 25-Mar-24 09:19:34

Bellasnana Malta is my favourite place. We had many holidays there. Lots of memories of Mellieha Bay. Alone now but good times to look back on,

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Berkshire. Nice day yesterday with DD, lunch in old pub in Bray, a look at Monkey Island and driven round the countryside in the sunshine.

Looking forward to today as we go into London for afternoon tea at the Goring with my sister against my upcoming birthday and a trip to Liberty’s, one of my favourite shops.

Something to look forward to grandmattie👍, thoughts to Gingsterand her DD and all with worries.

Good morning from a wet and grey East Midlands.

Taichinan Mon 25-Mar-24 08:53:59

Good morning Mick and all from a grey Angus coast. It's supposed to be sunshine and showers until the rain sets in this afternoon (I think I noticed a bit of sun earlier), and then that's it until Wednesday when we have a Yellow Warning for snow!! I don't think we'll get it on the coast - but I've been known to be wrong.
How lovely to have those days in sunny Athens with your family to look forward to and enjoy grandmattie.
Sorry you're not so well Oops. Get well soon and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
How sweet of your little GD Mizuna - what a lovely thing for her to say. Loved the photo!
Nothing happening here today - except perhaps another couple of ticks on the To Do list.
Have a good day everyone x

‘I wrote a post earlier but a crow flew down the chimney and bit my hand’

I’m sorry Grammaretto but that made me laugh so much. 🤣

EkwaNimitee Mon 25-Mar-24 08:43:24

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very wet Carlisle.
Yesterday was beautifully sunny and I had a good plant pot cleaning session. They will all be going back to the garden centre which now collects them back for recycling. I hope that's what happens to them.
Later was admin including nerving a look at my latest quarterly gas bill...not frightening thank goodness!
Today I must pop out shortly into the pouring rain to collect my prescription after yet another reminder from the pharmacy. Though those are useful and save me from a potentially fruitless, time-wasting journey into town. Then it will be back to tackle some housework followed by a reading afternoon. I'm re-reading one of my sci-fi novels which is now being serialised by Netflix, something I discovered just as I was about to cancel the subscription! I find the book is usually helpful to make sense of what is portrayed on the screen.

Have the best possible day everyone and best wishes to Oops who I hope will be able to enjoy her holiday soonest.

Grammaretto Mon 25-Mar-24 08:37:14

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Dreich today back to normal

I wrote a post earlier but a crow flew down the chimney and bit my hand as I frantically tried to open the window for it to escape. It was frantic too!

Such a beautiful sunny day yesterday. I gardened, ate outside and managed to dry 2 loads of washing.
Then ofcourse I had to remake my bed.

Sorry you are poorly Oops 😔

Lovely stories of your family Mizuna

Have the best day you can everyone

Jaxjacky Mon 25-Mar-24 08:36:08

Morning from a damp, grey S Hants.
What a b****r Oops I hope you feel better today. That sounds a lovely trip gMattie hopefully with some 🌞.
Yesterday MrJ started power washing the patio, part 2 today I hope.
Monday voluntary phone for me, chase the pharmacy and quiz tonight.

Good morning from a very wet Sefton.
I should be singing this morning but as I'm still coughing & spluttering & keeping Kleenex in business I don't think I'd be very welcome! The 'bug' I brought back from Lanzarote is being very tenacious.
Hoping today will be a good start to the week but thoughts with those of you struggling with life.

Sar53 Mon 25-Mar-24 08:14:31

Good morning from a bright and sunny 🌞 Essex coast.
Admin and housework for me today, DH to work on his beloved boat.
Have a pleasant Monday everyone xx

GrannySomerset Mon 25-Mar-24 08:14:04

Nothing planned today but need to do some menu planning for DD and family’s Easter visit. Realise I am out of practice at feeding more than one person so need to remember how to do it. Yet another skill which has withered and died. Meanwhile the gardener and I need to talk bout filling a gap in one border which his big tidy up has revealed.

Liberty Mon 25-Mar-24 07:53:46

Good morning from a sunny but no doubt chilly Suffolk.DH is taking me to our garage’s body shop to collect my car which has been repaired for significant damage done by an unknown car driver when I was parked.

It was useful to leave it whilst I was away and saved them from providing a courtesy car. After that I’m off to see a hygienist to have done what my dentist used to do as part of a routine check up….now at a cost of £70+….so an expensive morning ahead!

Thinking of those with more significant worries and hoping today is a good one for all.

luluaugust Mon 25-Mar-24 07:42:22

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Cleaning lady this morning and a visit to the Bank this afternoon, our local branch is closing at the end of the month.
Best wishes to all

kittylester Mon 25-Mar-24 07:36:29

Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.

Our visit to see DH's brother yesterday was very sad. They are having difficulty clearing his chest infection. He was confused sometimes and lucid at others and looked dreadful.

Today, our cleaners are coming, DH is off to the gym and I have a zoom catch up with a group of carers from one of our recent courses.

Hopefully, this afternoon will be quiet.

Have the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Mon 25-Mar-24 07:29:41

Morning Mick, morning All. You won’t be surprised to hear our corner of Somerset has had overnight rain with more forecast. I’m so, so tired of grey skies now.

Our daughter in law came with our son and the Typhoon yesterday, lovely to have a chat with her while the shed roof was fixed. Mr C was amazed how well the Typhoon. can hammer nails. They disappeared home to tackle their own maintenance leaving us to enjoy a delicious (and very filling) roast meal at the little garden centre.

Today? Not sure other than a trip to the tip. See how much rain there is.

That’s bad luck oops, hope you’re much, much better soon. A few days away can be a real tonic grandmattie. Can’t advise on the case, think I’d risk it.

Thinking of everyone facing challenges. Hope Monday is kind to us all

Susan56 Mon 25-Mar-24 07:29:26

Good morning from wet Shropshire.

A quiet day hopefully before a busier time the rest of the week.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩
