Good Morning Easter Monday 1st April 2024

What a lovey day it was here in Dunblane yesterday. Today not so much rather grey and cold. The bed is stripped and washing hung out so hopefully it will get a good blow.
I am trying to run my freezer down, we have always had a relatively big chest freezer but now I am having more difficulty lifting the heavy bottom baskets without being in danger of falling in. Not having much luck though as we live near a M&S Food and I keep buying yellow labels and feeding it. 🤣
Nothing really planned for today but will probably venture out at some point. Hope everyone can find something positive in the day.

Daughter entrusted her pan of Delphinium seeds to my care , I see some have sprouted ! They are on the bathroom window sill
Cucumbers on the bedroom sill
Tomatoes are moved on the the greenhouse, but are very tiny , I might buy plants if I see good ones
Sweet peas need to be planted but the ground’s too wet , we did pinch them out and they look very healthy
I’m off to find some chocolate 🤣

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very grey, wet South Yorkshire. It’s in for the day, so no chance of getting out for a walk. DD and the menfolk came over for lunch yesterday which was very enjoyable. We spent the evening playing cards which was fun. DS phoned about eight for a chat. As I can’t get out today I will bake, and clear the walk in airing cupboard as GS is coming to give it a lick of paint tomorrow.

I don’t have an airing cupboard which I still miss, but oh my goodness, a walk in airing cupboard, that sounds utterly wonderful!

Just surfaced after 11 hours sleep to find it's raining here in Sefton. 11 hours! Don't think I've quite got the hang of the hour's change either.
Another quiet day today as it looks like the rain is set in for the day. Might just have to get out for some fresh air rain or not.

Good morning and Happy April everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; very unexpected sunshine, as heavy rain had been forecast. Hence my cutting the grass yesterday morning.

Did very little.else yesterday; caught up with the weekend papers and puzzle pages, and watched several recorded programmes, including the Easter service from Canterbury, and Gareth Malone's excellent St John Passion series. Haven't sung that one but did the St Matthew Passion with a choral society I joined when we lived in Australia. Happy days....

Decided to make a batch of Mary Barry's Yorkshire puddings for the freezer, which turned out very well. I make a dozen in a 12-tin muffin tray; one was eaten yesterday, and the others are open-freezing, ready to be packed into a bag. Five minutes to reheat in the oven or air-fryer.

Nothing planned for today, so will read, watch some tv, and make something out of the leftover lamb from yesterday.

Today Dancing GD and her friend are coming and we're going out for a meal at a local restaurant I think they'll enjoy.
I too am finding this clock change difficult - but that's probably more because I'm going through a 'good sleep' phase. If I allowed myself I could probably sleep all day as well as all night! On the other hand the next 'phase' is hardly any sleep at all - it's all or nothing here.

Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy, rainy Carlisle. What a change from the last two mild, sunny days.

Yesterday morning I woke at what I thought was my usual time having completely forgotten about the clock change. I was up, washed and dressed before I remembered. It didn't matter, I'd woken wide awake and ready to go anyway so I just got on with things. For once, the change doesn't seem to have affected me at all.
I got out in the garden for a bit of weeding and then planted my well sprouted early potatoes. Today is going to definitely be inside, I might just as well get on with the usual Monday tasks and keep the next few days free for nicer things if the weather should improve.

I hope all the holidaymakers manage to get out and about though I would bet that the tearooms in the Lakes will be doing good business with soggy trippers!

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex. The weather has been mostly good for the Easter weekend, but we don’t venture far because of the busy roads. Not much fun sitting in traffic jams, we’d rather be here in the garden.

Yesterday was lovely with Dd and little DGD . She makes up the most amazing games and we all have to join in , even GaGa (grandad) who’d really rather not 🙄 😂.

I’ve started my book club book , my recommendation, so I hope it’s a goodun. ‘ All the Broken Places’.

A quiet day yesterday, I was brooding a cough/cold which is in evidence today, I’ll potter, quiz tonight, we sit well apart from other teams.

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE.
All the family came yesterday afternoon and we had coffee and cake and GD told us about her holiday in France before playing the piano for us. DD also played for us which is a rare treat, last time was during the festive season.
DD stayed for dinner and we had roast beef and she had a vegetarian joint with a very nice bottle of Chassagne montrachet.
Quiet day today, maybe watch some TV.

Good morning from Durham. There’s been early rain, following a couple of dry days. A lovely day yesterday with DD2 and family. DGS2 just wanted to hunt for Easter eggs all afternoon - this Easter Bunny was knackered!! He then accused the Bunny of just throwing the eggs around. It kept him busy and he was very tired when he went home.
An empty today, so will mess about in the garden/shed and get the house straightened up after yesterday - the dining room is still to be cleared.

Good. Morning from a dull and damp start in Suffolk. We both woke up an hour later than normal so I think our bodies have dealt with the time change.

The smoked lamb for lunch at DS’s yesterday was delicious. He had smoked it over apple not cherry wood with garlic and rosemary.

We’ll have a quiet day today and then are out for lunch tomorrow before the Bristol family descend on Friday.

Cold here with no working boiler but sunshine at present though not for long. Very good day yesterday with lovely Easter service with christening and then DSiL and DD cooked later on and we were joined by two local friends. Bread and butter pud made with surplus hot cross buns was a triumph and the evening was lovely. Not sure what today will hold but the weather will be an important factor.

We had a lovely day at DD’s yesterday.We ate far too much so need to get back to my usual eating routine today or my blood sugars will be horrendous.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. We have quite a bit of lovely blue sky.

I weeded the greenhouse yesterday. Started weeding another spot in the garden but it’s too wet and the dirt just stays on the roots so i gave a shrub a trim.

Came in to eat my chicken and apricot tagine. Although it was nice apricots don’t really agree with me and I have had tummy ache.

This morning I’m going to make a start on cutting out a dress and hope to get some fresh air in the garden at some point.

It’s fools day today and when I was much younger I used to phone Edinburgh zoo to speak to a mr G Raff get it ?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 today I’m off shopping to Sainsburys for a few things and I’ll be making the best mince and tatties and Chillie con carnie.

Good morning from dry cloudy Cambridgeshire but the weather looks fairly promising. We have a quiet day planned with maybe a walk late morning and watching tv and reading our books this afternoon. It was a busy day yesterday with the family here, a really lovely day doing lots of Easter bits and bobs with GC and lots of laughs. Days like that are very precious
